WALL-E Box Office!

I really hope they don’t skimp on special features this time for their DVD release. But the recent trend shows I might have to wait until I can afford Blu-Ray. Let’s hope they don’t do that this time. Looking forward to this DVD!
yeah i hope they do too bc who honestly can afford that now with the prices of stuff today??

I agree, I’m going to be REALLY ticked off if this movie doesn’t have many decent special features. (Ratatouillie barely had anything) I don’t know ANYONE who has a Blu-ray player, and the things are friggin’ expensive. @_@ I miss the two-disc special edition things…

So true. I know a few people with PS3’s and I do agree I hope they have more stuff on Wall-E’s release. They are fun to watch

good point moonstarms.

Agreed, its crazy high. But I’m with Lightning. I do hope they have a special edition one. I would be interested to see what they do for…everything

Actuals are in. $18.7 million for the weekend for a total of $163 million, breaking the A Bug’s Life barrier. :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep it up WALL•E!

~~ JOHN•E

Yet it’s making more money than all of those movies.
Pixar movies have “legs” so you’ll have to be patient. KFP is going to end up around 220 million, and WALL-E is making a little more, so I’d say WALL-E will end up at 250 million!

Im saying 254 million! I wanna see if I win a prize!

no, martini 833. those movies are making more money. well, not all of them, but definitely KFP and Hellboy II.

It will be hard for WALL-E to get that, though I’m hoping you’re right.

At this rate, if it stays with Ratatouille, it should end with 225m. But it’s dropping much faster than Ratatouille. Rat had very good legs.

Compare it with Ratatouille and Panda here: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=daily&id=junecgvs.htm

Wow, look at Cars go! Cars did surprisingly well. I forgot how good its legs were.

TS2- Check the totals for comparison on the above link, WALL-E is one step ahead of KFP, and Hellboy 2 only made 32 million in its opening weekend. Check your numbers before you try to prove someone wrong.
Remember KFP was released 3 weeks before WALL-E, and money wise, WALL-E is 3 days (about 10 million) ahead of KFP. Also consider the fact that Pixar movies have legs.

Martini - also remember that Panda had a great 4th week which WALL-E won’t match because of the July 4th week. It’s quite possible Panda narrows the gap big time when WALL-E hits that week.

It will be very close I think. WALL-E’s Pixar legs need to kick in soon. At this rate, Ratatouille is dropping much better. WALL-E definitely has more family competition than Ratatouille did, with Journey to the center of the earth, Panda, Space Chimps (don’t laugh too much  ), and Clone Wars coming out in August.

Also, they could never hope to reach Hancock’s numbers.

(Space Chimps sucks, dude!!!)

Let’s not be pessimistic everyone, you’ll see WALL-E will be the number one animated movie this year and so what if KFP comes in close.

I hope you are right. I don’t care if KFP comes close either as long as WALL-E wins. But I initially thought there was no chance KFP was going to win. Now it is possible.

Still it’s a good year for animation fans. So far, Horton Hears a Who, Kung Fu Panda, and WALL-E have been great.

well, the fall will suck for animation. I already saw Space Chimps and it was funny at parts, but the story and some of the animation sucked out loud.

Supposedly Star Wars: Clone Wars isn’t bad, Igor looks to have some promise, and Bolt is actually looking pretty good. Only one I’m dreading is the movie that’s going to be the most marketed - Madagascar 2 (but that’s me, I know you said you liked that somewhere on these boards, right TS2? ).

yeah, I forgot about MADAGASCAR 2!!! I’m excited for that!!! But, let me give you the reasons I think BOLT will suck:

 1. It’s the next in a long line of Dog crap from Disney (Shaggy Dog, Underdog, B(S)HC, now Bolt.)

 2. The animation isn’t even that great.

 3. It’s exactly like Underdog combined with The Wild (which is crap except for the animation)

Also, Igor looks like a cool idea, but still, I’m not really excited for it, and there’s also “Fly Me To The Moon,” which, from the trailer, looks like complete s***.

It won’t get much better after WALL-E for animation in 2008 until one bright light at the end of the tunnel, “The Tale of Desperaux.”

(Oh, and Star Wars is just an excuse to make money of almost-s***. And I’ve also already seen Space Chimps, and I really wouldn’t have missed anything if I just rented it. I’d give it a… C-.
