Well, it isn’t like they haven’t incredibly wowed
us before. Still, it is a huge risk. I don’t think the reward id really worth that much.
Spirit was not dialogue-free. The human characters talked and Spirit
narrarated the film (though he never actually spoke.)
Sure, making a silent film is a big risk, but come
on, this is Pixar we’re talking about. And it’s not like they’ve never been done before - let’s wait and see
before we start getting too negative. ![]()
I’m gonna remain
neutral for now, especially since we have had no confirmation that it will indeed be a dialogue-free film. If so,
then we will have to trust that Pixar know what they are doing. We have to remember that despite the fact that
things like profit and the business side of Pixar do not influence the creative people at Pixar as much as it
does at other companies, it is still important for a film that they have spent a long time on to be as successful
as possible. If Pixar are completely sure that they can pull it off, without any financial losses, then that’s
fine, but even if they have slight doubts, then they’d probably not go down the dialogue-free road as it just
would be too much of a risk.
As of late, I have complete trust in Pixar. Always
have – always will. Maybe some people thought they couldn’t pull it off in creating a film about
superheros…or cars…or even rats. But just take a look at what they have done, and you’ll instantly be
convinced: they can do anything as long as they have their hearts and their minds set in the right place.
Pixar’s main goal is to create engaging stories that captivate viewers, and they’re always trying
something new and different. Personally, I hope that WALL-E will be – for the most part – dialogue free, as
I’m curious as to how Pixar could really pull that off. But the thing is, I’m not at all worried if they do
decide not to include any speech in their next film. They wouldn’t do it if they didn’t think they could do it.
I have complete faith in them.
Personnaly, I still think it won’t be dialogue-free,
because of the huge risk this would represent for a big company like Disney-Pixar. However, if it is, I’ll be
pretty happy.
As I said before, one of my favorite movie is Belleville
Rendez-vous, a dialogue-free animated film. It’s not the kind of thing Pixar would do, but it’s
at least the proof - if needed - that you can make a great movie without dialogue.
Anyway, I know Pixar
and Andrew Stanton will do a great job on this movie, and I’m sure it’ll be another masterpiece.
I know they have, and I’m confident that Pixar’s
brilliant team can pull anything off.
~~=oP
Ya know - this is a
long shot but the Disney release while alluding to it never actually said it was a feature
length film. Wouldn’t that be a kicker if they’d mislead us all this time and it was really a
short.
A (dialogue) silent film would however explain why sound master Gary Rydstrom is taking a turn in
the Director’s chair for lifted. He’d have to be heavily involved and become extremely animation savy in order
to pull off the sound in this film for Pixar.
Dash, that would actually
make no sense. ![]()
Bwa, that
would be the snazzle, Dash. Ha ha.
I don’t think so Dash (respectfully).
Hasn’t it been said/told in some internet articles that Wall-E is gonna be the next feature film?
Dash - Well now, that would
be interesting. The national headlines: Pixar Fools Fans!! Heheh – nah, I’m pretty
sure that it is a feature film. This fact has already been publicized, and I have proof to prove it:
Here is an
excerpt from the article:
"And I?m pleased to give you an exclusive first look at the
title character of their next movie, WALL? E…"
Notice
the word “movie”. Unless this is a hoax, a scam, or a downright lie, I think we can safely say that
WALL-E will not be shortened anytime soon. ![]()
So this eliminates the option of it being a short doesn’t it? Then again, Pixar is great in keeping
secrets.
The Star
Swordsman - Yep – obviously. I do agree in that Pixar is the master of keeping secrets, but this
doesn’t mean that they aren’t entitled to leaking out a few things every once in a while. I’m pretty sure
it’s a feature-length film. Either that, or Pixar is just pulling the wool over our eyes.

I think you gave the wrong quote, Mitch- that
one refers to Ratatouille, which we know to be a movie anyway.
I think what you wanted was -"…first
look at the title character of their next movie, WALL? E…"
lizardgirl - Holy smokes! Heheh – oops. My apologies; I’m terribly sorry
about that. I should check my posts before I submit them…
Yes, the quote that you mentioned was the one
I meant to put. Thank you for letting me know. I changed it. ![]()
Nah, it’s deffinatly a movie.
oh,
and Mitch, love your signiture, I second the Puppybowl excitment…
can’t wait to see the
puppies ^___^
but, back on topic. ^.^;;
No. It’s not like Pixar to leak something about a
future project this early.
~~=oP
PV: That is true. Didn’t a oficial leak of
Ratatouille come out one year before its official release date? And if not, what was the first leak that someone
caught?
Googly-Bear - Thank you for the compliment on the signature.
![]()
PixarVixen - I’ve spent about five minutes trying to figure out whether
you agreed or disagreed with me. (heheh) ![]()
I think that The Star Swordsman
is correct in guessing that an official Ratatouille leak was released about a year
ago, because I remember reading something about the production at around that time or later.
Pixar is the
master of keeping their secrets, so the most they’ll probably reveal about WALL-E at the moment is the name and
the character…and nothin’ else, which they have. The next best thing we’ll get is (hopefully) a trailer along
with Ratatouille.
