Hold on. You’re not actually considering the possibility of Wall-E not being a
feature-length film ?
Hold on. You’re not actually considering the possibility of Wall-E not being a
feature-length film ?
You all seem to be forgetting about Disney. The image of
WALL?E was revealed on an official Disney website. Ponder
that.
And Mitch, I’m sorry. I was disagreeing
with you. ![]()
~~=oP
PixarVixen - Ahh…I see. Heheh – thanks for letting me know. ![]()
Yes, that’s true. The fact that it was leaked out on a Disney website pretty much says it all – Disney
usually releases information about Pixar projects publicly (and on the internet) before Pixar itself does, which
makes perfect sense, as Disney is pretty much in charge of Pixar, so to speak.
If I wanted to learn about
any new WALL-E information, I’d go to Disney first…
If I wanted to learn any new WALL E
information, I’d go to one of the numerous sites that provide sneak peaks and leaks months before the officail
sites do. ![]()
I don’t think Wall-E is a short
film. The release date has been announced, and the article on Animated News says “movie”. Nuff
said.
Why would they release an image for a short film this far
in advance? Think about it: When have we ever learned about a new Pixar short film
before learning about the movie it’s attached to? I don’t think they would
release all this information and the picture and a logo
and a release date if it weren’t a feature film! ![]()
exaaaactly.
I agree 100%. Why would they release a logo for the film
if it wasn’t a feature? No, no. It’s definitely a feature film.
I just went on
Upcomingpixar, and there’s
[url=http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2007/02/27/toon-tuesday-again.aspx] this link to a Jim Hill
article[/url], about WALL-E.
There are some spoilers in it, so I’ll just
post the link, and let you decide whether you want to read it or not. Among other things, it reveals what
WALL-E stands for (finally), and the first third of the movie.
It sounds
really exciting ![]()
Thanks Archibald!, I just saw it on Upcoming Pixar to.
![]()
Guys this movie sounds like it will be the best Pixar film yet! ![]()
Guys really don’t
highlight these spoilers unless you don’t care about spoilers
[spoil]I love how WALL- E has a pet
cockroach named Spot[/spoil]
[spoil]“WALL E.” Which plays out with
little or no dialogue. By that I mean: The age-old trash-picking robot and the sleek new scanning droid may beep
& boop at one another. But – with the exception of the music & the dialogue that we hear coming from
that VCR that plays “Hello, Dolly !” – that’s it. The rest of this section of Pixar’s 2008 release
is (in effect) a silent movie.[/spoil]
Pixar will defiantly win an Oscar with this film.

Okay, so I am both extremely excited and extremely
cautious about this movie.
Things I like:
[spoil]1. The robots don’t talk. YESS!!!
Yes, that is awesome! I know Pixar will do a great job with this.
2. The basic
plot doesn’t sound too far off from what we already heard, but the best part is that this is only the plot for
the first third of the movie. I figured it was for the whole thing. That means
that there is a lot more to this movie than I imagined!
3. Hello Dolly. Amazing. ![]()
[/spoil]
Things I don’t like:
[spoil]1. The environmental hype. We get
enough talk about “taking care our world” everywhere else, I don’t want to sit through a Pixar movie
and get more of the same (no offense). I’m fine with the whole “earth evacuation” thing as a basic
plot element, but I don’t want to feel like I’m being preached to about it while I’m enjoying the movie.
2.
"We’re all now just these enormous fat blobs who can only move about because we travel in huge floating
lounge chairs." - Hmmm. If this is played out in a serious manner, it sounds a little disturbing. But on
the other hand, if this is a humorous element, there could be a lot of fat jokes. Both options sound a little
iffy.
3. "There are so many other aspects of this Andrew Stanton that are daring and/or charming. Take –
for example – Fred Willard’s involvement with this production. Fred plays the president of the Buynlarge
Corporation. And this will be the very first time that a really-for-real human performer will appear in a Pixar
production." - Okay, wait. Stop. You mean to tell me that Fred Willard will be
in the movie, not just voicing a character for it? If so, I’ll be very
disappointed. This isn’t Mary Poppins. This is Pixar. Pixar is an animation studio. I don’t want some
live-action character thrown into the middle of it.[/spoil]
Anyway, no matter what happens, I
have faith that Andrew Stanton and the group at Pixar will not disappoint. And on the whole, this sounds like
the most solid, original, and creative story that I’ve heard of in a while. I just hope it’s a good movie, and
doesn’t turn into an environmental flick.
[spoil]Oh, wait, I just realized: could the
“really-for-real human performer” be referring to video clips from Hello Dolly? If so, I don’t have a
problem with that at all.
[/spoil]
Archibald - Yep – I just say that one Jim Hill Media
and Upcoming Pixar as well. Gosh, news travels fast! (heheh) ![]()
I am
extremely excited to see this film, to say the absolute least. I really believe that
Stanton will release another winner here… The plot is just too charming not to love.
JV - Haha – I love that whole “Spot” thing, too. Such a unique
pet. ![]()
WALL-E’s plot certainly sounds like a departure from Pixar’s
typical storylines. Pixar is definitely taking a leap of faith by doing WALL-E, and
I hope it pays off. I, for one, think that the plot is very ingenious and very emotional. My guess is that if the
movie follows through, this film will become the most emotionally moving Pixar film ever, a distinction currently
held, in my opinion, by Finding Nemo (with both Cars
and Toy Story 2 coming in second). WALL-E already
sounds like a masterpiece in the making.
But again, it’s the actual movie that counts, not just the
premise. ![]()
[size=92]Okay, I finally gave in and read the whole first third of the story. It… sounds… damn…
AMAZIIIIING.
[/size]
This will probably be the biggest animation sensation in
YEARS.
WOW
![]()
I’m so … . . dizzy right now.
I don’t know what to think.
But I really like
the way how Pixar is getting off the mainstream.
Look what I just
found! A new picture of WALL-E and Ratatouille and Toy Story 3 :
amedia.disney.go.com/investorrel … slides.pdf
Scrool to the bottom of the
page
JV - Dang – how do you find this stuff?! ![]()
Aww – WALL-E is adorable. He
really does remind me of R2-D2, although he looks nothing like him. It’s his innocent nature and expression, I
guess. (heheh)
And yay – a new Ratatouille picture! Looks more like concept
art, actually. Very charming. Remy at his pot, as usual. (snigger)
But man!
Did you see those Prince of Persia images? Not to get off-topic or anything, but
dude that looks cool!
Enchanted is looking great, as well.
Great find, JV! ![]()
Your
Welcome Mitch!
You should post that new
picture you found of WALL-E here, JV. ![]()
