what did you want to be/do you when you're older?

I’ve always wanted to be in movies when I’m older, acting in them. Earlier this year, I auditioned for a talent agency and I got in but I haven’t got any work yet. :sunglasses: so, what do you want to be, or what did you want to be

An animator at Pixar. I’m currently working on that dream as I am at an art school studying animation. Well, I suppose it doesn’t have to be at Pixar, but that would be amazing!

I suppose doing animations would be second choice, I’ve always like the way they do it. It’d be a challenge, but it looks like fun at Pixar. :sunglasses:

Honestly, I don’t really remember what I used to want to be, heheh. But from digging through my old pictures/drawings, notes, and stuff by me from years ago, I could guess that I must’ve really wanted to be something like an artist and writer, and maybe something far-fetched and imaginative like a princess (I was girlier back then).

Well, right not, I’ve been told lots of times that I have a gift for creativity and writing. I still dream of being an author, but the good news is that I don’t have to wait until I grow up to be one.

That, and I want to be a voice actor at Pixar. Even a minor role would make me happy. And I might get the chance, if they notice me and invite me over.

In addition to that, I am an animal-lover, so I might work with animals when I’m older.

Well, currently, I want to be a professional performer. Whether it is acting or singing, on film or on stage, I don’t care. i just want to perform. If that doesn’t work, I want to be a teacher. I love working with young people.

nathan: Animation is a challenge, but it certainly is fun! Takes a lot of perseverance, but it is great seeing your drawings/ 3D model come alive when it’s all done!

One of the subjects I chose to do next year in school was Graphics Design, that’s supposed to be to do with C G I animation.

As you guys might already know, I want to work as a director for Disney and Pixar or a movie critic if that doesn’t work out.

Second that! I’ve always dreamed about working at Pixar, but that the road there is quite far for me, skill-wise and literally  But I shall keep working towards this dream of becoming an animator!

When I was little I wanted to be a ballerina.

Upon realizing that I couldn’t dance for toffee, now I want to be a comic book artist / cartoonist / illustrator.

I want to be an animator, Pixar is my motivation really, but i highly doubt of achieving that! As for 3D animation, it’s already a passion of mine, i already do stuff on Blender, but i have time, i’m only 13 !

When i was little, i wanted to be in the S.W.A.T, that was my passion before i got older and figured out that it wasn’t quite like games ! :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel like one of the few people on here who has never wanted to go into animation.

Uh, at one point, I think I wanted to be a lawyer. Dabbled with the idea of being an author, but that isn’t always the most supportive of careers. One thing I’ve focused on is the idea of working with people, which has led me to Clinical Psychology.

I’m applying for '10 entry to study Psychology at uni, and hopefully I’ll enjoy the Clinical Psychology units as much as I think I will. Then a Masters after that in order to become a fully-fledged Psychologist. If that doesn’t work out, then I can see myself going into business or accountancy, something along those lines, maybe even counselling.

It’s so cool that we’ve got so many animators on the board. I can see it now, twenty years into the future, a whole bunch of you working at Pixar and chatting about the good ole’ days on Pixar Planet.

I wish ! That would be a dream come true for the most of us.

I still have a long ways to go too! Good luck to you!

3D animation is a passion of mine too. I enjoy 2D as well, but 3D is definitely what I want to do. Pixar is indeed a motivation! Don’t doubt yourself. With a little hard work and perseverance, you can do anything you set your mind to! Just don’t give up on your dream.

Thanks for the info Hannahmation. I also enjoy 2D art, it’s got something that makes it awesome !

Author, baseball player, radio host.

I used to have a dream of becoming a detective ever since I first laid my hands on the first volume of the Detective Conan manga series. Then, when things started to become more realistic for me, I thought of becoming an actor - or rather, a Hollywood movie star.

Ah, yes, there’s nothing compared to the glorious lifestyle that which is experienced by countless big-time celebrities; Tom Cruise, Robery Downey Jr., Keira Knightly, merely naming a few.

I did want to affiliate myself with Pixar a couple of times when I was younger, but then just finding a job there just isn’t really… well, wealthy. Ah, well, better stick to the fandom than creating it.

Movie reviewer. I’ve made a few blogs already. I might post a link in my signiture to one of them later.

I’m not in the least bit tech savvy. Nor am I interested in the entertainment industry in any way.

I want to go to medical school. After that, I suppose I’ll be a doctor. I really have no idea what I want to do with my life after graduating med school. Research is appealing. Maybe I’ll get a PhD. Then I can be Dr. Dr. Swimchick. That would be neat.

I had a dream that I was going to be a star football player, but I am not as athletic as most people in the world.
