What do you want most for Christmas?

  • Something Pixar related.
  • Something Pixar unrelated.

Thanksgiving is over, so it’s legal to talk about this stuff.

Okay, pretend I’m a big fat guy sitting in a throne-like chair, and I got a red and white suit on and have a big white snowy beard.

“What would you like for Christmas?”

Music gear, music gear, and more music gear.

The thing I want most is a Blu-ray player. Other than that, it’s nothing big, just some games and stuff.

Yes, I will admit my desired gifts can be expensive, especially if one is talking hardware. It’s not even limited to music; I’m considering getting a laptop sometime soon.

I want a blu-ray player like Bryko614 said, but really, as long as I get something Paul Newman related, I’ll be happy. (Yeah, you probably saw that one coming, huh, Sally J? lol)

My wishlist this year: (relatively short)

Blu-ray player for myself
HDTV (good size)
Up Snowglobe
Wacom drawing tablet
Any Pixar or Up swag

That’s about it. Being able to watch Up on BD in HD any time would be awesome. Plus, that snowglobe is just GREAT!

I haven’t really made a final decision yet, due to all of this homework that I had to catch up, but I’m thinking about either getting a video camera, a laptop or these random items:

  • A lot of Disney and Pixar movies on DVD (I still have most of these on VHS, so I should get some of these and enjoy the better picture quality, for a DVD anyways, and the extra features)

  • A few other movies on DVD (Dark Knight, South Park, etc., I loved to rent these movies, so I thought I should get them for Christmas)

  • A few CDs (not that many good albums lately), but, the one that I’m definitely getting is the Eminem Relapse re-relase album

  • Some Toy Story action figures (I literally wanted to buy these as soon as I saw them in the store)

I didn’t vote on the poll because as you can see I have Pixar and non-Pixar related things on my list.

Bryko614, LightningAndDoc & ffdude1906: I would love to have a blu-ray player too, but the video camera is more important than that right now. Also, I still have movies on VHs, so that doesn’t help either.

Sally Jonson: Thanks for starting this topic. I knew that a Christmas-related topic would show up soon. So, I have to ask, what do you want for Christmas, then?

Ho! Ho! Wait… what? I’m the Santa here! Just kiddin’!

Hmmm… I really don’t know! I’m perfectly content with what the Lord has blessed me with in all aspects of my life.

Wait… maybe I do have a few things in mind… like if I can have anything, no matter what it is.

~I’ve always wanted the Cars soundtrack, and now I’m gonna add the Up soundtrack. I am simply enchanted when I hear the music to both these movies.

~I’ve also always wanted the book The Art of Cars, because I’ve been fascinated with the genius work behind all these spectacular movies, and to see the original storyboards and drawings of my favorite movie of the bunch would make me so happy!

~And this is something a bit personal. But one thing that would make my Christmas the best ever would be if I was kissed on the cheek by my best friend (he’s a guy, duh, lol).

~I would love to get something with Dale E. Jr. on it. Like a sweatshirt or a jacket would be awesome! Drinking Mountain Dew all the time ain’t enough for me personally in supporting him.

~I would also like another pair of cowboy boots. The pair I’ve had for about 2 years now are kinda… worn, lol! I’ve done everything in them! So, I would like a new pair that I could wear on dressier occasions.

Hmmm… well, that’s all I can think of. But whatever my parents surprise me with, I don’t care (as long as it’s nothing like a dead rat or a human head or something ).

Sally J, I like that list! Just to tell you, the Cars soundtrack seems to be missing some score. But the Art of Cars book, trust me, you won’t be dissapointed!

Yeah! I’ve heard the song when Doc’s racing around Willy’s Butte is not on there. :frowning: Which is sad because I love that song! But there was a cd that was extended, meaning there was more on it than the original cd… more songs and stuff. But it was a limited addition at my store, so it’s gone. :imp:

Well, while I am missing a few Pixar movies, they’re not ultra high on my list right now, since I’ve got the library and there are just some other things I’m more interested in at the moment. I got my Up DVD and my WALL-E comic. I’m pretty set unless we finally get a Carl Action figure with extending cane action and grumpy catch phrases (you know you want one.)

Well… and I REALLY want the Up Art Book, but it’s kinda pricey.

…Oh, and I guess if there was still one of the WALL-E ornaments from last year around that wasn’t ridiculously priced. xD

Hmm, I know I want this cool Green Day jacket I saw on there website, and I’m going to try to complete my collection of Green Day Cd’s so that I have every single Cd they’ve ever made. And i might ask for Up on DVD since I don’t really have any money to buy it. I also might try to get a new iPod that has more memory on it cuz I have to choose what I want on my Ipod before I go somewhere cuz it only has 4 GB on it. :unamused:

And of course the one thing I want the most is to be with my special Eva <3 , but I’m not going to get that cuz we live on opposite sides of the country. :frowning: Too bad though cuz it’s honestly the one thing I want most. :`-(

Nice lists, guys! I particularly like one of your ones, Sally Jonson, the really sweet one. Aww.

As for myself, well, I don’t really know…I just recieved a very nice laptop for my birthday so I’m sort of counting that as a Christmas gift too, but if I were to ask for anything else, it would probably be a pair of slipper boots and Assassin’s Creed 2 for the PS3. Plus, my mum will be buying another bead or two for my charm bracelet, and I’ll be doing the same for her.

Sally Jonson: The extended addition is the one I have, it has the Cheetah Girls doing a cover of Route 66 and Drew Seeley doing a cover of Find Yourself. Yeah, like that’s what the Cars fans want. We need that song that plays when Doc goes around Willy’s Butte! (Yeah, it’s not there . . . :frowning: )

I would be all over that, I SO want one! XD But really, they should go for it, it would be so awesome.

And yeah, the Art of Up is a spectacular book, I highly recommend it.

Any Pixar Blu-ray except for “Cars” (which I already have) would definitely look nice under my Christmas tree.
I also wouldn’t say no to the ultimate editions of the first two Harry Potter films, or “Twilight Princess”, now that I have finally beaten “The Wind Waker”.

Although the ultimate (impossible) present would of course be a soundtrack CD of “Up”.

I really want the UP Deluxe Edition DVD, some computer games, and a gift card to any bookstore. Also, I’d like a Blu-Ray player, but that’s a pretty doubtful thought. I could also use a signed copy of Twilight to go with my signed Bone books. :-D)

I would really want a psp to play Birth By Sleep when it comes out but I don’t know if that’s gonna happen,…
other than that I would like the Princess and the Frog snowglobe from the Disney Store, Sony Vegas movie studio 9, and this really cool leatherbound book with all 7 of the Narnia stories

I was entertaining either a new laptop (cos’ my three-year-old 2006 Macbook Pro can’t handle the newer edition of Maya, or the newer games with Windows XP as boot camp), a PSP (cos’ I always has to ask my bro to download the Pixar games I want onto his machine, so I considered getting my own), or a PS3 (to play MGS4, Uncharted, and Blu-Rays).

In the end, I decided to ask my parents for a new laptop, since I figured I could still leech of my bro for his PSP and that I could ask for a Blu-Ray drive to be included on the laptop instead of using the PS3. So we went down to SITEX last weekend (which is like an annual tech fair, sort of like Cyber Monday in Singapore). I bought a Dell Studio 15 with Full 1080p HD resolution and a Blu-Ray/DVD combo drive, 4 GB Ram, 500 GB Capacity. And it comes with Windows 7!

I didn’t go with another Mac this time cos they still don’t have Full HD resolution, a HDMI port or a Blu-Ray drive, and are seriously overpriced. I was also considering the XPS 16 with its 1 GB Graphics Card, and 16-inch screen, but I’d have to fork out a few hundred more, so I went with the cheaper Studio line. It’s a lime-green colour (cos black and white is too predictable), and it looks pretty fat and bulky, but specs-wise, it’s pretty top-notch.

I’m so happy and thankful (my parents said this is the second and last laptop they’re getting for me, next one’s from your own dough! :stuck_out_tongue:), it’s a preorder since Dell does online orders, so I’ll only receive it in a few days time, latest by December 18. But I can’t wait, it’s gonna be sweet!

The only other gift I think I’ll get is a mousepad, since I never had one for three years now (I purchased the Razer Krait beginning this year, and it’s a pity I can’t use it on glass surfaces!). Probably make it Pixar/movie-related.

Sally Johnson: I second LightningandDoc, The Art of Cars is just seriously awesome, I always borrow a copy of it from the public libraries every time I return to Singapore!

Nice choice, thedriveintheatre! Ditto on choosing a PC over a Mac condsidering the lack of a Blu-ray drive and high def, it’s the reason why I chose my new Vaio instead of being tempted by a shiny white Apple. And you’re getting your new laptop just before Christmas! Perfect timing.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what to buy a cat for Christmas? I always feel bad leaving her out, even though she obviously doesn’t understand why suddenly there’s a glowing tree in the living room and lights hanging up everywhere.
