What type of pet do you have?

I have 2 fancy rats as well, Collette and Ana Ng

2 dogs (Goldie and Sugar)
2 cats (Big-un and Frodo)
1 really fat horse (Doc)
about 7 chickens
1 goose (Squanky, he used to be in love with my Dad’s old truck)
a few snails (Flurry, Neem, Dory, Flo, Dug, and Violet)

I’m pretty sure that’s all of them.

I have a cinnamon coloured rat named Hermione.

I have a cat named Jewel who I’ve had for a long time, but he’s missing a leg because he tried to run away and got into some kind of accident with a car or something a long time ago. He gets around just fine, but he does cry a lot which can be annoying.

New kitty! Her name is Meche.

She’s pretty freaked out so she’s hanging out in her carrier right now.

Aww, she looks so sweet, Fett101! Yeah, cats can be, well, scaredy-cats when it comes to new places. I’m sure she’ll settle in soon.

Awwww!! Your new kitty looks JUST like one I used to have from '02-'05… named Omega… :frowning: He was like super skittish around everyone, but I was the only one he’d come to. I miss that little guy…

Meche is sooo cute! They’re always so nervous when you bring them home for the first time. <3

I forgot I have a pet knat named Al. He’s not really a pet though, just a knat that comes to my desk sometimes. I haven’t seen him lately. I kinda miss him.

Fett101: Aww so cute! Makes me want another cat…

Fett101 - You have such a pretty cat, Fett! I love her name, too.

skunklover - Ha-ha. I like naming the bugs that come around my apartment sometimes, too. We had a silverfish that I named “Dave” visit us once in a blue moon, but I think he left some time ago.

I have five cats
Butterscotch (twelve year old, fat, shorthair tabby)
Bianca (Ten year old short hair marbled tabby)
Bagheera (four year old black)
Boots (three year old…black and white housecat. Maybe a Turkish Angora)
Rain (Boots’ daughter, two year old gray, long haired SOMETHING. She’s got Himalayan, but who knows what else!)

And I have a three-year-old Ball Python named Sinuous Monty Python.

But they are all BRATS. Butterscotch is a cranky old lady, Bianca is a less-cranky old lady, Bagheera’s a jerk but a scardy-cat, Boots is loud, obnoxious and always hungry, and Rain is pretty much the same but heavier. And the snake just sleeps three days straight unless I take him out.

Some day, I’ll put up pictures, but I’m just going to procrastinate for now.

Esmedes- Haha, aww, your cats sound…Well, like cats. So cool that you’ve got a python, though. Is it difficult to look after? I’d love to have a pet reptile but they don’t seem to be the most practical of animals to keep.

He’s not that hard. You really have to keep an eye out on his newspapers, though. And his waterbowl.

But I have to tell you, my FISH were harder to care for than my snake…at least for me.

The vet bills are pretty expensive, though. At the beginning of the year, we were pretty sure he had a respiratory infection and had to take him to the vet every other day that week for him to get an injection. He was eventually so used to the veternarian’s smell that when I gave him to her, he bunched up really tight and/or tried to get away. And their are occasions where he’s a bit hard to feed because his (freezer) food got too cold. It was not fun trying to get him off the food. I had to use a cloths-hanger and wrap my hand in a pillowcase.

Other than that, he’s pretty easy. I just handle him every day/three times a week. I’ve had him for about three years. When I took him to the vet, everyone was expecting a BABY python and I bring in a three-foot-long big boy XD . When I DID want to get a snake, I had to save, study, and wait two or three years, and I finally got him in March of my seventh grade year  . Being a ball python, he lives a long time when given the proper care, so patience is a BIG priority.

And don’t get me started on my cat stories! They go on FOREVER!

Heh heh. My very first reptiles were green anoles. I have a certain Pixar lizard to thank for that, but I named the first one “Gill”. Then we got a girl and then one of the cats got her when my mom accidentally left the lid open :frowning: . Geez, that was traumatic. I found half of her underneath my very unmade bed. Then my mom surprised me with another one that I didn’t actually NOTICE until a long time after she tried to show her to me XD . The second girl’s “relationship” with the boy was far cuter than the first’s though. One time I saw her sleeping on his back while they were on their basking stick X3

I have a cocker spaniel mix named Zero, she’s my baby. if you want to see her, check out dailypuppy.com and type in K9Girl. click on the link to my account and you’ll find her!

I love reading about ‘Sinuous Monty Python’. And the cats… some of them are film character names!

I’d love to own a snake, lizard or parrot one day. Cats and dogs are overrated. :unamused: Of course, I’d want to make sure it’s properly licensed and not part of an illegal exotic animals trade and whatnot… it makes the headlines all the time in Singapore cos’ it’s a travel hub and lots of endangered wildlife products enter their borders to be distributed to the rest of Asia or in S’pore.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but we had a Golden Retriever we named Shadow after that labrador in a certain family movie. He was more of a ‘Marley’ actually, he got real fat when we kept feeding him dinner scraps and bones, and he always misbehaves (We tried to train him, but he always runs away). He would chase my siblings and I on to our backyard ping-pong table. We were heartbroken when we had to give him away upon moving house.

We also reared turtles and fishes briefly in S’pore. But changing the tank water was a pain in the neck, and after a few weeks, the fish would die anyway. :frowning:

Hey, I have a cat!

Well, I did, but she’s been missing for 2 months or so now. Maybe even longer, I lose count. She’s called Lulu (or Loulou- you can spell her name either way) and her meow is really high-pitched, different from your average mew. My stepmum doesn’t like her because she always used to scratch at the front door at 2 a.m, meowing away. My stepmum used to pour freezing cold water on Lulu everytime that happened, and I felt so bad. Once she even got so mad that she threatened to take her away.
But despite all that, we miss her. Hopefully she’ll come back one day, or she’s being looked after by some other people.

I also have a grey rabbit called Smoky (betcha can’t tell where we got the name from). He’s not annoying- apart from when he munches on the flowers in our garden, but he has his own space now- he’s just weird.
Why? Well, I don’t know how to put this in a mature way, but… he likes to hump soccer balls. hides I don’t know why, he just seems so attracted to certain balls (his favourite is a Manchester United one).

I bet you’re all disgusted now. But yeah, welcome to that part of my “crazed” life.

I have a cat named Bindi. (named after Bindi Irwin) She’s 3 years old, and is a tabby cat.

I have a puppy named Rowdy. He’s a show dog and goes to dog shows. He’s a Merele Australian Shepard. He is about 8 months old.

I also have two steers (General Lee and Teddy), that I’m taking to county fair. They’re not going to be around much longer though!

Awww so cute!

I’m beyond jealous of all of you that own dogs.

Why aren’t you allowed to have one? Not enough room, someone allergic, parents just say no?

I live in a two family house. My aunt lives down below and she is allergic. She won’t even allow us to have a hypoallergenic dog :frowning:

That’s too bad. You can get one when you’re older in a house of your own!
