I wanna be an animator or a storyboard artist. I’ve yet to work with animation programs since I’m still in
high school, but I’ve been working on my basic cartooning skills a lot. The tough part of graduating my school
is I need a portfolio of different mediums and nibs are not my friends =P
Could you please tell me what you mean with ‘nibs’?
Oh, they’re just these chinese ink pens that my cartooning teacher made us
use to complete our comics last summer- he kept insisting they’re our friends. I’m working on a big project
with them now, and ended up having to repair it since the ink kept splattering. =P
Yeah, I know how you feel. The very fact that I don’t live in America
pretty much makes it impossible for me to get a job at Pixar, but, in all honesty, it’s not my dream to work
there (gasp
) so I guess it’s okay. But if you really, really want to work there, then I’m sure there
must be some way for you to go and get that work visa.

I’m shocked.
Heheh – actually, it isn’t my
fantasy job, either; however, that’s not to say that I wouldn’t claim a position there in a flash if I was
given the chance. Heck, I’d be happy even if I just cleaned the toilets…as long as I was working there.
(snigger)
Well, there’s
nothing at Pixar that’s really in the line of work that I want to go into. I’ll always watch and appreciate
Pixar films, but I guess I don’t want to be involved in making them.

lizardgirl - Ahh…I see. So you’re more like the spectator…

I am a little bit of both – “half 'n half”, as you might say. My joy would be one of great
ecstasy if ever I were chosen to fill a position in Pixar Animation Studios; however, I wouldn’t be surprised
about new projects, for I would already know about them (or most of them).
As a spectator on the
side-lines, one’s expectations can fluctuate depending on his/her anticipation of a feature film. That person is
unsure as to what will happen next within a particular studio, and that makes it all the more “fun”, so
to speak. Although, it would be fun to work at the place, too, so I guess I can’t really be prejudiced here.
(heheh)
Poor lizardgirl. Surly there must be something you wish you can
do. Think about your talents and see how you can use them in Pixar Productions.
Yeah, I’m the same way; I
would absolutely love to be involved with something Pixar, but working for the company isn’t my goal in life.
Pretty much the only thing I’d be qualified to do with the company is to be a voice actor. Which, seeing as
I’m planning on being a stage actor who will probably just stick with local productions, isn’t very likely, but
it’s still fun to dream about.
TSS- No need for Pity, TSS;
I’d much rather not have anything to do with Pixar, because I guess that I think it would spoil the future films
for me, knowing how they were made and everything. And there really isn’t anything at Pixar that suits me- I
plan on becoming a pyschologist and part time author, and both professions don’t really feature in Pixar’s big
scheme of things. Nope, just visiting Pixar, having a nosey around and meeting some of the big shots there one
day would make me happy enough.

Am i the only person who’s life goal it is to work at Pixar
… well
for the moment anyway…
That’s been my goal in life since I
sat down and pondered on what the heck I was going to do with my life, lol. That began with a long depression and
one too many viewings of Monsters, Inc.
I’ve been told that I shouldn’t count on it, that I should learn
that I may have to settle for something less. But it’s my DREAM to work for Pixar, and I’d love to make that
dream a reality.
Lanny, if you look at most of our post, I’m sure
you will find you are not alone.

Thanks people
… you make me feel better
Read my first post in this thread and you’ll find yourself in
it!
Oh my, anything! I’ll scrub the floor with a toothbrush for minimum wage! But seriously, I’d love to be an
animator, or a voice actor, or to somehow be involved with the concept art. Hopefully i can make something happen
with that since my local art college just added a new major called Digital Media, which focuses a lot on 3D
animation crosses fingers
I would want to do shading and lighting, because that’s
the part when the computer animations become life-like and cool quality. I would also want to be a sound mixer,
because all of Pixar’s films have excellent sounds! Or I can be a film editor, my dream job, because Pixar never
goes wrong with the editing process! I would also want to be the director’s assistant, just to see what it’s
like being a director without the pressures of being one. Or I can work in the business part of
Pixar.
Heck, If I got offered a job at Pixar, I wouldn’t mind being a janitor. Just being around those
creative minds would be so awesome.

Jobs I would love to have:
Animation: Making
things move is fun. Rigging = a pain, but I can make things move real pretty once that part’s over with. Plus,
I’ve spent a lot of time learning to dance in order to improve the motion of my characters.
Modeling: I will spend HOURS UPON HOURS putting ridonkulous details into my scenes. My latest major
accomplishment is building downtown Oberlin in a week, including the Conservatory of Music. It’s very
distinctive- it looks like a radiator.
Lighting: So much fun! Most scenes I don’t use a whole lot in the
way of fancy lighting, but I had to light a rock concert last winter term, and that was rockin’
awesome.
I’d also do anything else they’d hire me for. But those are my top three.

I would love to be an
animator. Going there is one of my dream jobs.
Well, that’s easy, because working
at Pixar Animation Studios is my dream career.
I want to not only do conceptual art/storyboards for upcoming
movies (heh… I love to draw), but I also want to animate characters as well. I love Pixar’s quirky style in
the way they move.
