S330: Great, best of luck!
LQstudiesPixar: Whoever told you or gave you the impression you can’t like Shrek and Shrek 2? If they are film critics, half of them don’t know good movies (the other half are dead).
If they are your friends, haters gonna hate!
Yes, yes you must see KFP2 and HTTYD! And bring the tissues, cos’ your eyes are gonna sweat like a thunderstorm!
Leirin: I’m actually in a similar predicament! There’s a collector’s edition of a videogame I love that’s on Amazon. One seller is offering it for half the price of the other ($75 to $150), and there’s only 2 left. Thing is, the first seller has only 5 positive reviews, while the other has like 10,000-ish. I want it mint and new, and I don’t want to be ripped off. $150 is pretty expensive for a collector’s edition videogame, and I already own a used copy of it. The only thing I want to get is the Art Of book and soundtrack, and maybe the inside cover design. I could buy so many other things with that $150!
EJE: I think it’s the same person, Chris Sanders. I’m not sure if he brought his whole team over from Disney, haha. I know character designer Nicolas Marlet has worked on a lot of Dreamworks films, though! His art pops up a lot in their films, like in HTTYD’s Dragon book and KFP2’s dream sequence and drawings of Po.
SoA: I’m glad that other studios are starting to get better at the game!
theoutsider1983: I think people have a natural tendency to rubberneck. It’s why bloodsports like MMA and wrestling are all the rage, or action is one of the popular film genres. Ther’e something primal and universal about two people engaged in mortal combat. Personally, I don’t like looking at the real thing too, along with other unsavoury videos like accidents, etc (unless they’re funny and no one gets hurt, like America’s Funniest Home Videos or Just For Laughs).
And is this during break? If it isn’t, they shouldn’t be skiving!
Amy43: Ain’t no shame in being a polygamist when it comes to films, we ain’t judging you!
Also, with regards to HTTYD, if you were referring to the books, I can understand how they are totally different (Toothless, for example, is small in the books, Astrid is known as Kamikaze, etc). They managed to keep Stoick and Gobber intact, though!
Baliboi: Congratulations!

Thinking about my goal-setting counselling with my supervisor tomorrow. I’m halfway done through writing the list of things I need to improve on and my targets for the next financial year. I’ve sat through performance appraisals last year, but this will be the first time I’ll be setting targets and KPIs, so I’m very nervous!
Also, my brother is coming into town on Saturday, and I haven’t cleaned up the hosue. And I really want to go to Bronycon this year, but my supervisor has taken up the day before the first day of the convention for his leave. And knowing how long it takes to fly to America, not to mention the jet lag and queueing up for registration, I think I might miss the first day of the three-day event, which would be an utter waste for the expensive air ticket!
