What's on your mind? (Status Updates)

Watching Il Postino.

I watched The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring Extended Edition.

Thank you! I’m feeling better already. I called my work and requested to stay home, and then I slept until 3! I definitely needed it.

Sleeping in… One of lifes little pleasures

Extended is the only way to do it! 8D

Oh my goodness, I hated math with a vengeance when I was studying it in secondary school (Singapore’s high-school equivalent). Additional Maths (a subject which had calculus) was the one subject I got a B in for the ‘O’ Levels (the British SAT equivalent).

I also switched to a Computing Science/Digital Media combined degree halfway through my degree for one semester (a dumb decision I made on my parents’ advice for “better career prospects”). I flunked both subjects of the Computing Science component - Programming and something-calculus-maths. Next semester, I switched back!

Kids, most of your parents’ advice have good intentions. But only you know what’s best for yourself!

But, hey, I’m glad you like it as a subject, LQstudiesPixar! We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and I’m glad you enjoy it.

IV: Best of luck, what job is it for?

Pixarfan91: Hmmm… I dunno about the Loved/Hated game, but I like Hangman! Always a classic!

EJE: Hope you get better! Sleep is good.

SoA: One of my friends recommended we rent the Lord Of the Rings extended edition and watch it as a marathon at our mate’s place. Too bad I left Sydney before we could do it. :frowning:

Thinking about how to write my reviews of The Croods and Side Effects for my paper, which is incidentally called My Paper. Also considering how many stars to give 'em (a redesign of the website prevents us from giving half-star ratings, so all reviewers have to be decisive and give full stars).

I just started teaching myself how to do fan art!

I was watching Batman: Year One.

After Chemistry, Dad got me David Bowie’s new album!! Currently very content and happy. <3 Especially considering we just had Chinese food…

…and now I shall work on some HTML.

That’s a very good point! And good luck on your paper, I’d like to read your review. (After I see the film of course).

Today I went with some friends on a little day trip to the Redwoods. The oldest tree was 1400 years old! I’m definitely blessed to live near such wonders.

I hope everyone had a good St Patricks Day! TDIT, I love your avatar! Patrick Star is awesome!

Watching Vantage Point.

Sigh. I’m just stressed out. Taxes, school, deciding my future, financial aid. And I just feel like I’m drifting from some of my friends. They still ask me to do stuff, but I don’t feel the connections that I did in high school.

I just need to move away, and find myself, and meet other people.

We’re getting back to Bond graphics with the longest batch in the series.

Doing my Geography assignment. Please kill me. :-\

^Sorry about that, I can imagine your annoyance.

Nice to hear! You guys are pros at those graphics.

I feel 'ya. I also understand about your friends. Life just keeps moving, you know. Sometimes I wish I were more connected with my friends. We care for each other, but I don’t have a really tight bond with some of them. I’m fine with that, though. But 1 really good friend, or sometimes a few more, but at least 1 is also very nice to have. At least that’s what I’ve found.

Change can be scary, but can also become better over time, I imagine. As long as new people make you feel at home with yourself and they’re there to support you, I think it’s a good thing.

The mods don’t want multiple games to be up or topics that are very similer to each other, it clutters the board. It’s just a game, the board won’t die if this one game or so gets closed. If new games get put up some of the members be be more tempted to come back, are you guys really not willing to sacrifice an old game for that?

I put up a small video on MU on my Youtube. Also kinda bummed spring break is halfway over.

evspixarfan2012: Fabulous! Do share it with us when you’re ready!

Leirin: I subbed an article written by an entertainment reporter who reviewed the new album. Didn’t know he went on a 10-year hiatus! Also, no love for Chinese food? You gotta try the real deal some day!

EJE: Thanks! I filed it yesterday, it was subbed today, and it’ll be off the press tomorrow. I also plan to write a full-length review on my blog.

Also, feel free to take a sojourn. Time heals most wounds (not all, but most), and sometimes when I’m troubled, I sleep on it or take a day off and I usually feel much better after some time. Trying new things is good, too (without giving too much away, it’s actually one of the lessons in The Croods)! Do whatever you gotta do, don’t sweat the small stuff (but don’t ignore the big ones, either!) and feel free to confide in us or anyone you trust.

SoA: Vantage Point is one of my favourite action films back when I watched it in theatres in ‘08. It had a great premise (I love Rashomon-style narratives, as I always believe in the subjectivity of truth), decent execution (Yeah, okay, Whitaker’s tubby tourist keeping up with the agents was a bit of a stretch) and a kick*ss car chase. It’s a pity that it was kinda short, and Sigourney Weaver doesn’t have much to do in her segment, but overall I had to give it points for its high concept and the excellent score (so good, in fact, that Pixar used it in the Cars 2 trailer). I actually plan to write a fanfic based on it, which is why it’s still fresh in my mind, cos’ I rewatched it a few months ago.

Right now, I’m glad that my reviews are going to print tomorrow. I’ve also submitted my performance targets for this financial year.

Last hurdle before the weekend: Negotiating with my boss to swap his leave dates with mine so I can go to Bronycon 2013! :sunglasses:

Sound advice, my friend.

That’s great!

I was watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
