What's on your mind? (Status Updates)

Just got home from Father’s Day shopping.

Crud, I still need to finish my Father’s Day stuff. :frowning:

Hyping Monsters U!!!

We got him a pair of Levi’s jeans. It doesn’t sound like much, but it took all my money, all my sister’s money, and he only has one pair of jeans. So I think he’ll be excited.

What’s mostly in my mind right now is something that I read and that has left a weird sensation.

Was it a book, or an article? Or a comic?

I am so bored. I detest the summertime. Until my birthday I have nothing to look forward to!

It was a book, but it’s quite difficult to explain it.

Oh, okay.

I got back from Man of Steel. I enjoy the experience of watching movies in general, but I have to say I’m pretty disappointed… :frowning:

Sorry to hear that! I hate being let down by movies. I doubt that one will let me down though, as I have no hopes for it. It’s likely closer to Dark Knight than the original Superman.

I’d certainly say it is, but at least Nolan’s Batman movies have a solid story underlying them… Man of Steel was 2 hours of CG action sequences to me. :frowning:

I’m wondering if something that was in the early stage of a story but cancelled in the final story would still be canon (or official in the story).

Also, if there is a main TV show, but there was a movie later on with the same actors that was set years and years later, would that movie also be canon?

I agree with Leirin. I generally enjoyed the film, but the CGI action scenes dragged for too long, becoming quite repetitive. I think the film had the potential to be much better, more in line with the great Batman Begins.

I hope the DC universe they’re starting with this film ([spoil]or is it continuing? We still don’t know[/spoil]), picks a better shape in the future.

Still, I wasn’t as disappointed as I was with Iron Man 3, maybe because of different expectations.

It simply depends on the franchise.

Got to read Brave New World soon.

Watching Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.

I’ve wanted to see that! How is it?

I’m still pretty much just sitting here anticipating Monsters U

oh and celebrating Paul McCartney’s birthday

It’s an anthology film, so the storyline is quite fragmented and not very interesting if you don’t know about the characters in the first place.

But it has nice things, including the animation.

Ah. I might see it anyway. Have you seen First Flight?

Yes, though that one is one of the firsts. I don’t remember very much about it.

I haven’t seen it at all. I gave it to Glenn on DVD though for his birthday last year. He LOVES Gl. lol I prefer Batman myself.
