What's on your mind? (Status Updates)

^People just don’t seem to care about such things these days…they’re just too lazy.

Some horrible things people do that I don’t like (and I’m really getting tired of all this):

(1) Spraying chemicals on their lawns

(2) Littering

(3) Abusing their pets

(4) Vandalizing buildings (and trains) with graffiti

Also, to put some good in this post, today I was watching a DVD copy of Tron: The Original Classic. I also put together some more of my puzzle.

I was going to clean my room, but it usually takes a while to do so because I get very confused about where to put my stuff.

I am still waiting to check out that other Sci-Fi film, The Black Hole.

I am also waiting to get a new Valentine off of eBay, but I’d also have to order some Mail A Smile stamps because I tried to get some from a post office downtown the other day and all they had was Send A Hello.

Oh, and I tried to get a new bed sheet for my upcoming tropic theme, but I had no success. (I might try again–the white sales are still going on!)

But I did manage to finally decorate the inside of my closet

Read the comments and let the anger flow through you.

What part made you angry? I’m just wondering.

I am still in the middle of cleaning my room but I’m so very confused about where to put my stuff!

And also, it’s a dreary night over here (because it’s raining outside).

I have too much on my mind right now. College, driving, job, life, and a potential girlfriend. Not to forget also, my spiritual maturity in Christ.

My mind right now, is scrambling to grow up significantly.

I’m still having all those flashbacks to the old Windows 98 days…also my camping years, plus the biggest mistake I’ve made and my realization.

Amy: Some of the commentators saying Elsa is too “sexy” or wears too much make up to be a good role model for kids. wtf?

After researching various character types and formulas characteristic of anime and manga, I’ve actually been able to apply some of those patterns to characters in A:TLA.

Here’s some examples:
-Azula fits a character mold known as yangire (not to be confused with yandere). A yangire is a character who is perpetually mentally ill and snaps violently without showing remorse for victims. On the other hand, a yandere usually starts out seemingly sweet and kind but later reveals their psycho-killer side (in other words, yangire is just a character who only personifies the latter yandere stage).

-Ty Lee, although an antagonist, displays many basic traits of being moe, such as the following: cute and adorable face, overall physical attractiveness, and a slightly kinder personality in comparison to Azula and Mai (moe personas are usually caring, subservient, polite, and innocent). Also, in the beach episode she seems to either ignore or refuse attention from many boys (compare to Mikuru Asahina of the Haruhi series, who seems to be virtually oblivious to boys that may take an interest in her).

-Zuko obviously displays bishie qualities.

-Sokka could possibly be a baka (Japanese for “idiot” or “fool”).

-As for the others, I’m not so sure. I would consider Katara, Toph, and also Zuko to be referred to as senpai (teacher-peer). Toph seems rather tsundere to me (mostly irritable and harsh, but also warm and loving).
Probably I’ll continue trying to figure out the character construction another time. Just wanted to share that.

Wow, that’s really cool JSWeC!!

So kids should look up to Lindsey Lohan or Miley Cyrus instead? 8D

I didn’t think that dress was too sexy. I thought changing into that dress made her feel more comfortable and free, and not to impress a guy or something.

I think they are saying that maybe kids will see her wearing a “sexy” dress and more makeup right as she is feeling better about herself and more confident, and they will think attractiveness brings you confidence. But do kids really think that hard about stuff like that?

Honestly, I can see what they’re saying to a point, but in regards to the movie maker’s decision to design the dress that way and NOT Elsa’s decision to wear the dress. Does that make sense?

I do think it is important to tell kids (and everyone) that you don’t have to be gorgeous and attractive to feel successful and confident. I don’t think we should rely on movies to tell kids that, because I think it’s up to parents/teachers/pastors to teach their kids what’s right, but I also think it’s good for movies to give kids positive ideas.

Do you ever notice how the majority of Pixar’s females are actually tomboyish to some extent? That’s what I am, considering my Cars toys…

I gotta get my room cleaned before going up to Sissy’s this weekend, Mom wants me to do the Box Tops thing for her school, and I need to learn Spanish again.

I was watching The Family.

I was looking through some Disneyana stuff on eBay, and I came across a sign that said:

No Parking
Violators Will Be Towed
By Authority of Radiator Springs

And I thought it was funny because Lightning McQueen and Mater were on it!

→ Well, I better get moving now…going up to my sister’s tonight and staying for the weekend.

Agree 100%! Honestly, I believe it is usually mothers who complain about this stuff. They let the TV raise their kids, and are afraid the TV isn’t doing it right. People need to accept more accountability.

I don’t understand why Monsters University wasn’t even nominated for best animated picture, it was far superior to say Despicable Me 2 or The Croods.

Also disappointed The Hobbit (which I thought wasn’t a very good film) wasn’t nominated for score, makeup and production design.

I was watching Gravity.

This. It was disgusting.

I say the Annie Awards would be a much better deal than the Oscars because of their focus on animation. (Just looked it up today)

Nah, the Annies are even worse.

I was watching About Time.

I didn’t love MU, but those two are clearly less good than it.

Trying to find out Jon Anderson’s eye color.
