I’m wondering when are we holding the Pixar Planet Awards. I’ve seen no notice thus far.
I’ve been wondering about that, too. We haven’t heard from a lot of the moderators in a while. I hope we get to do something this year.
I haven’t heard anything about it.
Watched The Wolf of Wall Street.
I seriously doubt if there will be any awards this year. (Reference to spam problem)
I was watching The Neverending Story.
Just watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.
Coke and Pepsi really do taste different.
Watched Project X.
Filth of a film.
I had to clean the closet floor because one of the water globes fell off a shelf and the glass had broken and all the glitter spilled out.
Watched Planes.
Just came back from watching 12 Years a Slave.
I’ve been thinking, since there’s a probability that there may not be a Pixar film coming out this year, I’m afraid that these boards may die before the next movie comes.
So…
I was thinking that if that is the case, let us all keep these boards alive with discussions in all the other movie boards, and keep fandom alive too (let’s be open to other people’s works!!!). We have tons of threads and members to get to know. Similarly, we’ve got plenty of movies to talk about with new things that we always notice, so why not?
Also, I’ve been wondering if moderators can delete entire threads. I only ask because of all the spam threads that have been attacking us (seriously, how do we stop spam engines in the first place?), especially in the “Other Disney” board (over 18 pages or so of spam).
#EasierSaidThanDone
Watched Rush.
Mom just used up all her snow days…
Just went to watch August: Osage County.
This is a great idea! Unfortunately, it will have to be an active effort from every member, so it is definitely easier said than done like you said. But hopefully we’ll all still be around, since things are going well thus far.
I told everyone that M.U. woulden’t bring the site back, neither would Brave. I’m not sure if the two film next year will even help. With a lot of people losing faith in Pixar recently, the site won’t get help from new people finding the site on their own. I came up with a list on how I think the site can come back.
1- Bring back contest: There was a contest in which a member one a book that was signed by a pixarian. If there were more contest like that then more people may get on more.
2- More Mods: A lot of the Mods of left, the only one eho ever get on are Kenz, Tiffany, Sara, and the Spirits, and sometimes Andre. Everyone else is gone. Because most of these members are college aged, they don’t have as much time to go on, therefore the spam post stay. More mods are needed.
3- New games and post: While a new game and post are made once in a while, it’s pretty rare. Everyone replys to the same topics. We can make topics on stuff that hasn’t been talked about.
4- Contact old members: This may be difficult, as not everyone can come back. Some members dissapeared without saying why they left. If we email them or find another site they go on, can can ask them to come back, not all of them may want to though.
5- Bring back chat nights, quiz nights, and movie nights: This was something that really happended all the time, then someone did it anymore. Movie nights were bring back last year, but died after a few months again. The chats and quizes stil happen but are rare. These were quite fun with a lot of people, but were dull when only a couple people showed up. These are diffcult to get during the school year, but can still be put together, espescially around the summer.
6- Make videos and blogs: This was soething I suggested a long time ago. This way it can been seen by everyone. I think if we made an ad for it then it could spped up traffic a little. We can also make dubs, communtaries, updates on films, facts about the films, and more. It could be really fun, but also difficult to find times that were all free on.
7- Holiday theme skins: This probably won’t happen, but you never know. It coudl put more charm to the sire to have Halloween, Christmas, and some other holiday skins. It would make it feel much more like a community. I’m not sure if anyone but Gabe works on skins,so can’t work on all of these if that’s the case. If this were to happen more graphic designers would need to come.
8- Member of the Month: This could work well. This would be based on a members posting, time on, and how they treat members. Admins and/or mods will choose a member who got these best once a month. It creates self-esteem and will have people get on more.
9- Get as much members at meetup as possible: This is really only for the members who have already decicated a lot of time here. But if more people show up they have want to get abck on more.
10- More new sigs and avatars: This used to be very big. Sigs and avatars were one of the things that carried the site, they let us express ourselves, as long as it wan’t too adult. I had one making these, but lost interest after a while once I started running out of ideas. I would try to think of more in my free time to get more sigs on my profile.
That’s all, they’re not the best but I think it may be enough to help the site. I don’t think it will be like it was a few years back, but it could be close if this works. I already did a few of these things, but I can’t do it alone. If everyone is willing to out and effert into this, it might work out. This site also needs a big update, it hasen’t gotten one since 2011, three years ago. I think a site should update every few or couple years when it come to a site like PP, and it’s in need of a major one. Sorry if there’s a lot of typos, it’s midnight and I didn’t want to got and fix all of them.
I got to write a paper on Aspergers for my Psychology class.
Pixarfan: I do like your ideas. They’d be tough to do, but it would be fun to have more regular visitors to the site. I do wish we had more active moderators. And we’ve slowly been bringing back quiz nights, but we haven’t done a chat night in a long time.
Watching The Grandmaster.
I went to Tongariro National Park.
