What's on your mind? (Status Updates)

Well, the first one came out in 2002, I turned 11 just a few months later and now I’m 25. But I am kinda hoping they would end the franchise - too many cooks spoil the broth and too many movies can ruin a franchise. Kind of the same issue I have with people wishing for a fifth Deponia game.
But I can already imagine the next movie - Ice Age: Now They’re Old 8D

Honestly, I couldn’t bear to part with any DVD or Blu Ray from my collection but I am sure you have your reason (lack of space, not liking them anymore, etc.).
Hope you have fun rewatching the first four Ice Age movies and watching the fifth

Hey! Is anyone on here downloading and playing the new Disney app game Emoji Blitz yet? Woody and Buzz are in it, Mike and Sulley are in it, Nemo and Dory are in it, and WALL-E himself is also on that game! Plus there is a full keyboard access option for iOS users. (I have reason to be excited, 'cause it just came out to the App Store yesterday!)

Witch_of_Night: The reason I plan to eliminate all of the Ice Age series from my movie collection is because I haven’t really been enjoying them lately as much as I used to…I was 7 years old when the first one came out and now I’m 21. But that there “Collision Course” had better be the last one, or else!

Agreed! I’m kinda fed up with everyone bringing out sequels in general at the minute, including Pixar. Don’t get me wrong, I do look forward to seeing all their films in the pipeline, but besides Coco I can’t wait to see what original ideas follow after 2019. This whole franchise phase seems draining as I don’t think some films even warrant a next full-length feature (I mean, not to cause a stir but I’m somewhat disappointed that Toy Story 4 is actually happening). However, as a true fan, I will go and see it anyways.

8D 8D 8D This made me giggle! The sad thing is, is that it almost seems legit.

As a huge fan of both Emojis and Pixar, I feel I should definitely check this thing out. While we’re on the subject, today is World Emoji Day!

evspixarfan2012: Well, it would be a waste of space if you don’t watch the movie. But I’m kind of a hoarder^^"
Yeah, I hope Ice Age 5 is the last one. There are lots of stories zhat could be made into movies and ot just sequels or remakes.

Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami: Admittedly, I was kinda disappointed about the announcement of Toy Story 4 too, but really excited for Finding Dory
Still, of it’s Pixar, I am going to see it, no matter what - and cry and whine when the German release date is much later than the US release date gotta wait until late September for Dory

Mope. haven’t even heard of it until now and I looked in the store and read the description, I noticed is a Match 3 game. Not my cup of tea

But I have an app on my phone with which I can play Quizzes against others. Sometimes, I have to wonder about my opponents; a few days aho I had the question “Who invented the vampire genre with Dracula (1897)?”. Well, the answer I chose (and the right answer) was Bram Stoker but my opponent picked Stephen King.

I know the feeling. Back when Ratatouille and Up were released in May/June in the States in their respective years the UK had to wait til October both times for them to come out :frowning: As Pixar grew in popularity at the box office here however we’ve been having July release dates. Finding Dory comes out here on the 29th! I’m looking forward to it, and until then I’m avoiding spoilers at all costs!

Same with us in Germany but then Toy Story 3, Cars 2 and Brave were released in July of their respecitve and Monsters University was released at the same time as in the US as was The Good Dinosaur. Inside Out, however, was released in October. It’s kinda annoying to have to wait for a few more months, you can hardly participate in the discussions without being spoilered and I’m trrying to avoid that one. I mean, a month is not so bad but more than that doesn’t make me happy at all.

^Well luckily I live in the US myself so over here we’re always the ones getting Hollywood movies first before the rest of the world does. (There is a difference both the in studio location and film opening origin between that and Bollywood, you know. Like they have studios around the world and in dofferent countries, whose names and various release dates for many of their own titles are diferent than ours. Even though they do later come in after both the film title and voice audio have been translated into English. And moving the subject away from Bollywood to focus more on Hollywood once again, not all US studios releasing Hollywood movies are based in Southern California which is really their primary hotspot…'ya know?)

I know, it sucks :frowning: Luckily I wasn’t around these boards when I had to wait a notoriously long time for Up or Ratatouille, so avoiding spoilers was so much easier for me back then. There really isn’t a lot of site activity here at the moment so I guess it’s easier for you to dodge spoilers too at the moment (unless you’re on social media, that’s probably more of a spoiler ground than here right now!). Still, at least we have spoiler tags here should you do accidentally come across too much information… o_0

sigh I don’t see the problem in having simultaneous worldwide release dates though, it would make life so much easier!

Been playing the Magic Kingdoms game on my iPad 2 device for the past week and a half now…so far I’m already up to Level 15 and yesterday I unlocked Hamm and Bo Peep.

At times like these I’m happy not to be on social media, unless you count my Youtube account which I hadn’t been using for a long time - I really ouhta change that…

But yeah, I’m also for worldwide international releases. Unfortunately, this seems to be reserved only for big blockbusters like Harry Potter or Star Trek.

^Star Trek? As in their latest, Star Trek Beyond? (That just came out to theaters last weekend where I’m at.)

^Star Trek Beyond is currently out here too, so it must be true.

Meanwhile Finding Dory was released here in the UK last Friday, and I might be going to see it on Wednesday!

Yeah, I was kind of thinking of Star Trek Beyond, which I’ve actually seen last Sunday. I liked it

I just started my new job about 2 weeks ago…however today, me and every one of my co-workers are taking a day off due to the building being closed for meetings along the NewHope staff (the ones who sit at the desks and consult us, to be exact). You’re probably wondering why I’m working at that same place as where I did the piece work last year, right? Because they recently just set up a CyclePoint thing over there, and this time I am getting paid by the hour for disassembling electronics…mainly computers, which I’m really good at. Thank goodness!** :open_mouth:

^That’s great to hear you’re earning money from something you’re good at! I hope you’re enjoying it (and your day off) I’m still on the hunt for a design job. There doesn’t seem to be much going on at the moment in the hiring part of that industry. It’s doesn’t matter though, my persistence is strong and I still have my part time job from university and other creative activities to keep me busy in the meantime

^And just what exactly did you (originally) want to be when you grew up, Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami?

The other day I went to the movie theaters to see Nine Lives and it was hilarious!

^ Well, I’ve always been a creative person and since I was a kid I’ve wanted to go into the creative industry. Firstly I wanted to be an artist. Then when Cars came along I wanted to work for Pixar as an animator. I then took a day class when I was 13 to do some animation, and I didn’t like it. I just felt like moving image wasn’t for me! So then I switched to wanting to be a character designer. Couple years later I figured that there are courses and classes in graphic design which is a much broader subject so I started studying that full time when I was 16 and then got a degree in it and have never regretted it. I love design!

I saw the trailer for Nine Lives when I went to see Finding Dory. Looks so entertaining! 8D

Some random food for thought for today:

According to the Webster’s New World College Dictionary (Fourth Edition), “Coruscant” is a real word (pronounced ko-rus-känt), meaning “glittering”. From the verb “coruscate” meaning “to glitter, sparkle, give off flashes of light” and the related noun “coruscation” meaning “a sparkling”.

Sentence example:

New York is a very coruscant city.

^ That’s a very beautiful and interesting find there!

I went to a wedding this past weekend, you could say that was quite coruscant too  We actually had sparklers to wave around in the evening as well. Plus I enjoyed staying in a flashy 4 star hotel

A little while ago I just started watching episodes from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command over on YouTube…
