I saw this thread on another site and it was interesting to see what people’s responses were, so I thought I’d post it here and see what you guys think.
For me, it was the monkey… that bloodshot-eyed stare and the way the eyes bulge when it screeches, ugh.
I’d say the monkey, but both characters show their redeemability to the audience in the end (the monkey’s no longer so scary when he’s wearing sunglasses).
The Monkey was definitley the most creepy For some reason, I think Big Baby is cute, in a horror movie sort of way But the monkey scared the wits out of me for his entire screen time. I don’t know how anybody could have that freakish thing in their house…and how Bonnie could think of it as cute…
I loved Big Baby throughout the whole picture, even when he was “evil”. The Monkey was a bit less sympathetic, but I just can’t hate any Toy Story character.
I felt sympathetic towards Big Baby after all he’d been through. Plus, he’s only creepy in a select few spots. The monkey was terrifying everywhere…even when he shows up “changed” in the credits…
For me it’s the Monkey. Big Baby only has a few moments out of all that screen time, while I feel like the Monkey is just constantly CRAZY minus when we first see it with Bonnie. Otherwise the Monkey was consistently creeeeeeepy. And I did laugh the whole time, but it was an uncomfortable laugh xD
This is certainly interesting, because back on that other thread I got this idea from, most people thought the baby was creepier than the monkey, but here it’s the other way around.
Maybe she was just curious and found it interesting rather than cute. Then again, I’ve only seen the movie twice, so… I dunno.
I’m going to say the Monkey, that still scares me. I remember when I went to go and see it with my 7 year old sister it absolutely terrified her but now she loves it. But there’s something about the monkeys eyes and the way it watches everything. It’s a great character but it scares me.
The only time Big Baby is creepy is when he is looking at the moon and he turns his head around but I don’t think that’s as creepy as the monkey.
The monkey for sure. He’s the stuff of nightmares. Big Baby was creepy in spots, like sometimes I felt there was something “off” about him, but the monkey was creepy the whole time.
Big Baby was just too creepy. Evoking memories from the first Toy Story, babydolls just haven’t been the same (and I could stand them before). The broken eye, the marker scribblings, and the baby noises he makes are just a recipe for scariness. The creepiest scene was when he was just sitting on a swing, staring up at the moon. But then turned his head around 180 degrees upon being disturbed.
