Who can't wait for "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa"?

“Madagascar” was DreamWork’s only perfect movie. I really cannot wait for the sequel!!!

Who likes it? Who loves it? Who wants some more of it?

Ehh … well, I won’t judge now. It may be good. I may give it a chance.

What’s that little video clip u have at the end of all ur posts?

TS2: Off-topic, lol, but it’s from a musical called Godspell. I’m not Christian but I love it to pieces, and have since I was four years old so it really can’t be helped …

Anyway, far as Madagascar goes - I loved it for the lemurs - they were just too cute <3 So, if they’re in it, there’ll be a bigger chance of me seeing the sequel.

OH COOL!!! I’ve never seen the movie but I was actually in the show once! I wasn’t Jesus, but I got 2 be Noah. And OF COURSE the lemurs are in it!

We’ll be shouted at by mods if we keep this up but … Noah? Lol, you sure you’re talking about Godspell?

Yeah! Well, maybe the stage version is different than the movie. If u get the chance, see it on stage sometime.

I ran the lights for my school’s production of Godspell! It’s a really good play… yet I still don’t see all the hype over Day by Day. It really is just a mediocre song, kinda plain. Yet it’s won a bunch of awards. I’ll never understand…

But anyways, Madagascar 2! I’m excited, only because I saw the trailer with three friends when watching Kung Fu Panda, and all four of us laughed out loud during it. That’s a fairly good sign

remember, “It’s more fun when you put your hands up like this!”?

I am not sure about a sequel for this movie, but then again, it might be a shocker.

Hold on a second.

Does the actual movie have a ‘2’ in its title?

Googles

It does. Yikes. That’s actually quite disgusting. Well, with my hatred of bad grammar and forced puns, as well as there most likely being other movies that I’d want to see at the time…Well, let’s just say that I’m going to pass this one up. I might catch it on television at some point, but I doubt I’ll be spending any money on this film.

if you see even the INCREDIBLY SHORT teaser trailer for it, you will laugh sooooooooooo hard! It already looks really funny!!!

I just saw the teaser trailer, out of curiosity.

I was waiting for all the animals to die, but it never happened.

Okay, I’m going to stop flaming Madagascar, even if it is a lot of fun, because I’m sure that there’s a lot of people who will enjoy this film. I’m just not one of them.

That’s enough now.

Melman:

“I love you, Gloria! I always have!”

(Gloria’s sleeping, Alex and Marty make a funny glance at each other.)

Ooo, cool. I’ve never seen a live play, sadly. :stuck_out_tongue: But, it’s coming to Broadway in July!! If only the tickets would hurry up and be for sale already! :stuck_out_tongue: And yeah, I don’t like Day By Day much. :stuck_out_tongue: Too religious for the general public, I’d expect. Beautiful City was a bigger hit, especially after that really nasty earthquake in San Francisco. Myself, I like Bless the Lord, hence my siggy, but I don’t believe in that God, so … yeah, kinda makes no sense for me to like it, lol!

I run a site for the film, btw. Lol, check my profile if you’re interested.

Uhmmm… back on topic back on topic … Madagascar’ll probably go over well with the kiddies, but seeing as I’m turning 19, I doubt I’ll be interested. I don’t even wanna see the teaser, seriously. But I can only hope it’s worthwhile for those who plan on seeing it.

I’m with FONY and lizardgirl: I thought Madagascar was a pretty mediocre effort. Not that I like hyper-realism, but I hated the spazzy quickness and weightless feeling of these giant animals. It uses pop culture references to support itself – never a good sign. Just another Dreamworks sequel.

The best part of Madagascar (and it crippled me with laughter) was when the lion looks at the flaming statue of liberty and goes “DARN YOU! DARN YOU ALL TO HECK!” That was actually a funny reference!

Oh, and the part where the HELP sign falls apart and becomes HELL. ^o^

I can wait for Madagascar 2

The original was just incredibly childish and just didn’t appeal to me. The trailer for the second one looks just as childish with a bunch of Nickelodeon style-humor. Why couldn’t they make it something for children and adults like Pixar does.

If it was just the lemurs and penguins, then maybe it would be a good movie (as they were the only thing funny about the first one) :unamused:

I wasn’t a monster fan of the movie. It was cute, but graphically and story wise I was not impressed. Yes, it probably is the case that because I am going into the industry I tend to look at movies with a very critical eye. I have a system of judging these things going from story, to character design/development to graphics.environment, and then to the little detail. I judge plot lines very harshly (for that reason I never even bothered with Bee Movie and The Wild). Madagascar had a moderately interesting plot. The character design was unique but fell flat in some places for me. The environments didn’t really leap out at me.
Composition wise, only one shot stood out for me and that was the close up facial shot of Alex when he was stalking up to Marty and the sun was being shaded by his mane.

So yeah, it wasn’t the worse movie they’ve done, but I wasn’t over the moon for it. My hopes for the next one is that they make the environment poop a little more and they make the humor less juvenile. The latter is a long shot seeing as DW has aimed that franchise towards far younger demographics than, let’s say, Shrek.

I absolutely hated that part. They ruined an awesome and timeless quote. If you’re going to allude to another movie, you may as well go all out (especially when, not long after, the HELP sign turns into HELL). But then, of course, Dreamworks would be receiving the angry letters and that’s never a good thing.

^ Heh. Well, I LOLed anyway. By the looks of it we’re almost all of one mind concerning the shallowness of this movie (turned franchise). Sorry TS2! Your avi is still amazing.

Haunt and Skippy, I totally agree. But critique movies? I’ve embarrassed myself by critiquing commercials! All those behind the scenes featurettes and “making of’s” really opened my eyes.
