I really like definedancing’s. I’ve recently become a small Whovian, but I’ve only been watching the Tennant series; not the newest ones at all. Would you reccomend the series?
I love Rafael too! He’s probably my favorite character, after Nico. [spoil]“Sorry Eva, I won’t make it home for dinner”[/spoil] AND he’s voiced by George Lopez, one of my favorite comedians! Rio concept art? Must. See!
And yeah, I knew not a lot of people would understand my avatar, but I love it!
Thomas Jefferson- Louisiana Purchase, Great deal MIRITE?
Alexander Hamilon- …
Jefferson- What?
Hamilton- Nothing Mr. States Rights.
The relationship between these two men was boderline hatred, and both served in George Washington’s Presidential Cabinet, causing a lot of drama.
Hamilton was a Federalist, while Jefferson was a staunch Pro States Rights man. States before The National Government. He did not like big government.
However, like many things in Jefferson’s life, even this view was contradictory, considering that he was responsible for the Louisiana Purchase. This increased the power of the Federal government, and was considered UnConstitutional, and was not a Pro States Right thing. .
So my avatar shows Hamilton calling out Jefferson on his hypocricy. Oh, and the images are from the John Adams miniseries.
Haha, I wrote a novel. But long story short, it is a very funny avatar if one has an understanding of early American politics.
I love the drawing you did of Pinkie Pie, Sinuous, and Bartleby! Although, I don’t know who Thermidor and Crabby are…
I didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him at that line! Well, you can Google his name - or I might provide a link to Pablo’s portfolio site on the Rio thread later.
It certainly sounds interesting to hear that America bought a chunk of land from the French (Thanks Wikipedia!). I can’t remember my American history from my one year at International School (it’s a term to describe private schools run for kids of expatriates), but I do love to read about other country’s cultures and histories!
Thermidor and Crapp… I mean, Crabby, were two characters from the DKC TV show that never appeared on-screen. They were pets of Dixie Kong. Eventually she also kept Klump as a pet… loooool!
Yep, the movie has a good score. And it probably deserves a number around that one (but definitively lower). But that doesn’t change the fact that the scripts are full of holes.
On topic again, I like TDIT too, even thought I’m not too crazy about Rafael. But then again, every shot from that movie would be incredible colorful and awesome.
Well should move this to the Harry Potter board. And I didn’t say they should say everything that is in the books. Just not leaving plotholes. The first two movies did a decent job on that, even when they left out some plotlines from the books.
Isn’t Klump a sentient creature and loyal henchmen of K Rool as opposed to a pet? I mean, I can’t imagine, say, Smiley Bone treating Bartleby as a pet (although some may see it that way, I think of Bartleby as an ‘intelligent species’ and more as a BFF to Smiley)!
Thanks Spirit! I have a horrible memory; did you watch Rio? How would you rate it among this year’s films? It has a couple of missed storytelling potential and cheesy slapstick moments, but the jaw-dropping visuals and infectious music more than make up for it. Oh, how I WISH they released an ‘Art of’ book like they did for ‘Robots’!
Awesome film, obviously the best to come out from Blue Sky. As you said, there were cheesy moments, and the secondary characters didn’t click on me, specially Nigel (I hated his musical part, which looked as if it were from a whole different movie)
Eventually, the story was catching enough, but it’s the visuals that steal the show. I felt very pleased with the overall result.
I also didn’t like the part in the club party where Jewel sings “lalalalalalalai” or whatever it was. I loved the sequence, but then Jewel’s singing ruined it for me.
Haha, yeah, I see what you mean… She didn’t necessarily call him a pet, but Diddy did say “You can’t keep Klump as a pet!” to which Klump said; “Eh, I’m already house-trained!” … but then he ended up messing everything up with ‘good deeds’ and eventually became as sad as he was in the beginning of the episode. :C It made the whole episode appear like a soap opera, really. xD
…
Duh, Rio? Best animated film of 2011 and I loved all of it. I didn’t mind the musical numbers because a CERTAIN show I watch has a LOT of them… and the whole idea started to grow on me. Ohwell.
