Could this be a hint that John Ratzenberger will be providing the
“voice” of WALL-E, beeping or otherwise?
It’s one of the few ways that Pixar could keep its
Ratzenberger tradition alive while still making this film more or less “silent”.

Nice link, JV, and that’s a great idea, CountSolo! The
tradition MUST be kept alive after all, even if Raztenburger doesn’t really say any actual words. So, making him
voice WALL-E himself would be perfect!
CountSolo - Hmm… I never thought of that. Maybe he’ll do a voice-over for that
“Hello Dolly” or whatever it’s called?
CountSolo
of a diminuative little robot, but anything is possible… ![]()
Yeah I was wondering if and how John Ratzenberger would come into play here. I kinda hate to see them stop the
tradition
Nah! They’ll get him in there somehow. Even Brad Bird
said something like “Why stop now?”.
I was under the understanding that it was only the robots who wouldn’t talk. There will be
other non-robotic characters in this movie (humans), who will talk. That article over at Jim Hill Media already
listed Fred Willard as an actor for the movie. Ratzenberger will still have a part, trust me. ![]()
I don’t know if it was a matter of
misunderstanding or if it was a matter of ambiguity, but did the Jim Hill Media article state that
only the first one-third of the film will be “silent”, or did it state
that the entire movie will be “silent”? (I put
silent in quotation marks because beeping sounds and footage from an old movie
doesn’t make it so silent anymore, does it?
)
If you go to the Wikipedia article, you’ll find a certain actor (forget who)
listed as playing the part of the main robot.
I don’t beleive it yet, still…
Greg Kinnear? Interesting…
~~=oP
eh,
that’s fake, Greg Kinear did the voice of another robot, in the movie “Robots”.
fake
fake fake…
Well, maybe not. Don’t jump to conclusions, GB. It’s could be true.
The problem
is this film is supposed to be mute or dialogue free. so it doesn’t seem plausible that any actor would be hired
for being the voice – And plus, if the robot just makes beeps things, wouldn’t Pixar have one of their own do
it?
Well, Fred Willard is also rumored to be in it, so you tell
me.

Wow, very nice JV! Hmm…He’s holding a boot- guess that points to the whole humans
destroying the world thing. He looks so sweet!
Awesome
picture JV!!!
WALL• E looks so cute in it!!!
Nice find JV!!! ![]()
Heheh – great find, JV! ![]()
Such a charming
little photograph. It’s almost rather depressing in a way, since you know what the whole “boot” thing
symbolizes…
Well, the
robot looks cute and adorable. I’ll give it that. Thanks for the pic.
Awww! He looks so sad in that pic. So
sweet.
I’m in two minds about Wall.E having a voice or not having a voice. If he did have a voice, I’d
want it to be kind of soothing, I don’t know, a bit like HAL’s voice (2001: A Space Oddysey), but less creepy.
And nicer. Greg Kinnear sounds cool, though.
