…what everyone else said…
I think the third film will wrap things up nicely…no need to go beyond a trilogy…
it depends, if its make by pixar LETS MAKE A SECOND TRILOGY¡
But remember when why tought disney was going to make toy story 3 by their own? that would be sick
if pixar make another trilogy its because they have new and better ideas, pixar WILL NOT ruin theyr franchise
It would be cool, but i am not sure, it all depends how Toy Story 3 goes. I would hate to have them ruin the series with some crappy sequel.
We re talking about pixar my friend
Even Pixar has its faults, and even Pixar would struggle to make a 4th and 5th toy stoy without running the franchise into the ground.
Yeah, I definitely think more than three movies would be extremely tough, even for Pixar. I mean Harry Potter can do it purely because they already have the backstory and all the books have already been written. And plus some of the movies weren’t the greatest in my opinion. (Haven’t seen the latest yet.)
Pixar however, is very dynamic. Their scripts and scenes are always changing. I agree with GregM, too, in saying I think the third one will finish it off with a nice ending and everything will come together. OR maybe they’ll end it with a dramatic turn of events that change the plot forever and then a huge cliffhanger and AHH… no, no Pixar wouldn’t do that.
Not me.
To close to Shrekness, ya knows?
Come on,folks. Disney will make money, and so they will want to do a sequel.Pixar won’t want to do it,so Disney will do it,and Pixar with actually let them! So there will a 4,and and a 5,and a 6,and a 7! It won’t be Pixar doing it,it will be Disney!
I seriously don’t think you give Disney enough credit. The most sequels they’ve ever had, except, of course, for HSM, but who cares about that anyway, is 2. Its Dreamworks that goes into the 4,5,6, and 7 territory.
Yeah, Disney doesn’t tend to go overboard on the number of sequels. It’s more the fact that they’ve made sequels of classic films that really should’ve been left alone that tends to annoy people like me.
But yes, even if, for some reason, everyone wanted a Toy Story 4, I doubt Pixar would go ahead with it.
Not gonna happen, John Lasseter is now in charge of animation, he wouldn’t allow it. He has no reason to, because Pixar doesn’t answer to Disney anymore.
I agree, now that John and Ed have been in charge of Disney I think that they’re going to have a much more Pixar over look on their films.
If Pixar does go ahead with Toy Story 4, of course I will go ahead and see it but if they make sequels after sequels i’s just gonna be plastic.
I mean, this tends to happen with movies with sequels.
Movie 1- Good.
Movie 2- Also good, some case it may or may not be better than the original.
Movie 3- Has some flaws… and not as good as the first 2 films. It can be good but its typically the movie that ends the franchise.
So with that, No. For a big Toy Story fan like myself, I would be against making more Toy Stories. In this case, they can just make it into a TV series!!
If they do make a Toy Story 4 AND 5, I’ll shoot somebody…
I have an idea for Toy Story 4. Since Andy’s going to college in TS3, the fourth one tales place a few years after TS3 and Andy’s married with a young toddler. He decides to drop him or her off at the daycare center that the toys are at. Is it a good idea or not? Tell me!
Heck that is good! I like it!
Three is enough. If Pixar ever got to making fours or fives of their films they would become another Dreamworks feeling the need to keep their Shrek franchise alive with sequels cause they have no faith in the lasting appeal of the film itself, and I know they’re not like that. They don’t need to keep all their films alive with more sequels than necessary if they’re already made well enough to be memorable classics (and the original Toy Story is a classic even to this day). It is nice to explore new things for their characters if there’s more you can do with them, but you can only do so many more things with a story until you have to know when and how to stop. I guess I’m picking on Shrek cause I heard the 4th movie coming out next year will explain how he ended up in the swamp, when I think they could have easily explained it in the last one while having their babies and wrapped up the series instead of bringing back Prince Charming again. It actually makes what happens in Shrek the Third look pointless if you think about it when it could have been what Toy Story 3 will be and finishes up telling everything it should.
Let’s see.
Toy Story 4 and 5?
No thanks. 3 movies is enough. Seems like something Dreamworks would do, but Pixar is not Dreamworks. Like one of the Pixarians said, if there is a great story for a sequal, it can be made.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Pixar may attempt to finish Toy Story 3 at a point which definatively says ‘no more sequels.’ It will put the characters in such a position that it will be extremely difficult to draw out further stories, just to prevent Disney running the series into the ground.
I’m not sure how they would do this, the normal way would be to kill off all the characters, but this is Toy Story, that’s not gonna happen. So the story will probably end unambiguously ‘finished’ even in the eyes of the Disney marketeers. Of course this is just my opinion and postulation, but that’s what I see happening.
Simply put: NO.
Why?
We don’t want Toy Story ending up like Shrek.
I think…
