So I know we’ve had this discussion multipletimes over the past few months and years and I already have a general idea of everyone’s preference. But with Dreamworks announcing 5 sequels, and of the next 3 announced Pixar films only 1 is an original, I just wanted to associate a definitive, conclusive, numerical percentage to it. So who actually wants a Toy Story 4?
Really, the only way I can feel an emotional arc of adding a Toy Story 4 could be justified at all is if PIXAR did something completely drastic for it, like having Bonnie kidnapped. But doing something like that would ruin the series for me.
While I know I would love more Toy Story, I do think that the 3rd was a perfect ending and continuing off that would just seem…wrong. That said I’m glad they’re just making little shorts with the characters now.
IF Pixar want to make Toy Story 4, then I’ll watch it.
But I wouldn’t want to see a Toy Story 4 if it was the result of enormous amounts of pressure from Disney who just wanted to use the “Toy Story” brand to make huge profits from toy sales, etc.
lord_zedd: Well, some people could actually want a sequel, even though, it wouldn’t help the series much, and have voted ‘yes’, anyways, 'cause they want to see another “Toy Story” movie. Than again, I guess most people might want to remain anonymous with their votes…so I’m not entirely sure…
Like almost everybody else has been saying, though, I think the series has ended on a great note with the third film and shouldn’t ruin that magic with another sequel.
I’m, however, looking foward to the new short films that will be coming out in the next year or so, starting with the short attatched to Cars 2!
Since there appears to be debate, I’ll just give my side. Toy Story 3 was said to be the last. Toy Story 2 was a good ending point for then, but there was definately more that could be done, in fact people probably wanted more Toy Story after that, but Pixar moved onto different project (which certainly didn’t disappoint). Toy Story 3 was to set the record straight once and for all. There are certain spin-off approaches that could be taken, but the main story is finished in my eyes.
But if Pixar DID do something: A) I’d probably watch it B) I’d probably like it.
If it isn’t good enough to be released to the theaters then it should be left alone. However, I’m not sure it’s TS4 for the sake of TS4. I think the point of the yes votes, at least for me… was if they were going to release another great movie. With each chapter in the series the story always got better.
It’s about quality, not just quantity. People are just being optomistic that the folks at Disney-Pixar will continue to hold the standard of quality even if someone else is at the helm. Although, it may be in a little doubt with Disney’s original plan to make their own TS3 without Pixar.
I do think they need to take the typical 4+ years for the project, if not then it would be obvious this was just a rush to get lots of buh buh bucks.
Im kinda regreting that i voted “no”, because the more i find out about the circle 7 script( with the toys travelling all over the world) the more i wish they make that movie
I’m not sure.
I’d love to see more of Sunnyside and the toys’ new lives with Bonnie, but the 3rd ended beautifully, and there’s the shorts for that.
I don’t know.
I don’t think there should be a fourth movie. The third movie ended PERFECTLY. I do, however, think having shorts about what goes on a little while after Bonnie adopts Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the toys, is a great idea. As was stated already many times, a fourth movie would only be a great idea if it could pull off even more amazingly than the third did (which I don’t think is possible ) The shorts should also be flashbacks about the other, old, forgotten toys, or maybe even what their lives are like with other owners. But the shorts are another story
