Who wants a Toy Story 4?

Well at least we get to see Cars around the world.

I voted yes, TS3 dissapointed me, if it was equal to the first two in sheer quality, then i’d of voted no, but it’s not, so yes. Especially if it’s very good and hey you only live once can’t see why not ;D

I agree that TS3 was not as great as everyone pretended it was, and I honestly don’t see why everybody loves it so much.

Nonetheless, No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!

I would be very disappointed if they made another one. Honestly, I’d lose a lot of my love for the series.

I don’t think there needs to be a Toy Story 4, but if Pixar did make one I would watch it.

How do you know you wouldnt like ts4?

It’s not the quality to me. I don’t want them to make too many. Many people liked Shrek 4, but 4 movies is still way too many.

Well, two people think that Toy Story 3 isn’t as good as the first two, but still a great film. That’s their opinion though.

As for me, I thought it was the best one in the trilogy. In fact, it even became my all-time favourite Pixar movie.

TS3 was a great movie, but where I and others have a problem are in the number of holes they left. While it was the longest in the series I think they could have added in a few other scenes to fill in the gaps. The ending almost seemed rushed (closing credits, not Andy’s final scene).
It felt more like a feeble attempt to explain a few things, but they still could have done more. This is why I think the story is just begining. My kids have a great imagination and we’ve been taking turns adding to the story at bed time. Just something that I wish Pixar will do. While the shorts will be a good start for the minor things, it’d be awesome if they continue the story. Or as I like to think, begin a new one.
From a marketing stand point this is a dream to have. The only reason some movies are made is to sell the merchandise after. Well your merchandise is also the main characters. As long as they keep the quality up I will keep watching and buying.
And let’s face it. Every single person that voted “no” is still going to go and see the movie.

I didn’t pretend it was great…I said it was great because I honestly thought so.

Edit: Wow. This post failed…

NO.

This series is named “Toy Story”. The story of toys - Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Hamn, Slinky, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Bullseye and the LGM’s.

The trilogy has been about their life with Andy - the first coping with a new arrival, the second coping with the idea of Andy growing up, and the third coping WITH Andy growing up in a very harsh reality.

That’s why they don’t need to do another sequel - they’ve already fulfilled the chapters of a toy’s story.

The toys went through absolute hell to stay alive and loved in Toy Story 3, with Jessie and Bullseye facing even more before they came to Andy. While when Bonnie grows up, something may happen and they end up going through hell once more. Do you really want to risk the chance of seeing our beloved toys have to face death in the eye once again? :frowning: I sure don’t. My heart needed a thousand stiches to recover from that ending.

They can’t really do something more without it being a random adventure. With 3 having Andy grow up, that was the last place they could go with the story without being a random adventure. That’s precisely why Circle 7’s draft was chunked quickly. If they did another one, it would be hard to not rehash the first three.

So no to Toy Story 4, but by all means bring in the Toy Story Toons WITH Tom not Jim Hanks, and Tim Allen. But I hope the Toy Story Toons tell actual stories, not random funny moments like in the Cars Toons. Sure, be funny, but tell a story - that’s what Toy Story is all about - a Toy Story.

Okay, you win there. I’d see anything Pixar put out, can’t lie.

Sorry, EJE. I shouldn’t have put that rant in such definitive terms, as a lot of people really think it’s a great movie.

I enjoyed it on some levels, I just didn’t see the inherent “oh my Gravy” quality I found blatantly obvious with the first two, and that profoundly disturbed me. That’s the problem with “quality”. Even though it’s less subjective than say"dramatic", or “cheesy”, it’s still an opinion. And I always seem to have the minority opinions around here. I honestly think a lot of members here only defend TS3 based on their love for the series, not the movie alone. And that seems two-faced and wrong to me. Not you, but I mean a few specific people around here, and the worst part is, they probably have no idea I’m talking about them. I always offend the wrong people in my little hissy-fits… :frowning:

I see what you mean, CF. I’d like TS toons too. I honestly see no fuel for a TS4, personally.

I am completely opposed to the idea of another sequel.

I am, on the other hand, really excited about the new Toy Story Shorts. I think it seems like a great way for them to develop Bonnie’s toy, who I expect will be featured prominently. And if they have shorts set at Sunnyside, I hope to see more of Zurg, and how he fits in at Sunnyside.

We Japanese want Toy Story 4! Bonnie is so cute.

BTW, in Japan you hear ‘We Japanese…’ when they say their own opinion.

Whoa, that’s interesing, I never knew that!

Maybe it’s just since I haven’t eaten anything in the last 24 hours, but the Toy Story films always reminded me of a very good three course meal. Toy Story was sort of the delicious bread and butter (preferably a San Francisco french loaf with a side of margarine), clam chowder and exquisite ice salad in thousand island dressing where alone it could might fill you up, but you were hungry for more. Toy Story 2 in that sense, served as the main entree of the series, particularly a well done filet mignon, lobster tail and steamed vegetables that was satisfyingly filling. But then the waiter brings in the last final Toy Story 3, a beautiful desert of rich chocolate tiramisu with fluffy double churned french vanilla served with an Oreo Malt and… and… and… an assortment of cheeses. You’re already full but you make room for it and by god is it delicious. And when you are finally done, you find out the best part of all. The Meal Was For Free!

So yes, while I do think Toy Story 4 isn’t a bad idea, I just don’t see the purpose for it. Quite honestly PIXAR, I couldn’t eat another bite if I tried.

Even though I’d see such a film if it was released, I wouldn’t really want another Toy Story movie in the series - the trilogy ended absolutely perfectly. I feel the addition of another film would ruin the symmetry achieved between the beginning of the first movie and the end of the third.

I’m looking forward to the Toy Story Toons, however - it’d be great to catch up with the characters again and see how life at Bonnie’s is treating them.

Wow, PB. Way to make me hungry. :open_mouth:  That totally makes sense, though!! Do you cook a lot, or something? You seem to have a lot of food knowledge.

Wow, I really liked that post! You summed it up nicely!

I agree. It’s a lovely simile.
