Guess I’m just being a blind fan again, eh? Seems like that’s what everyone thinks if a fan of Cars actually defends the movie. ![]()
Aw, Leonard. I almost always agree with Leonard.
Thanks for posting that, Leirin. I’ll still be excited until I see the movie. I’ve promised myself I’ll go in with neutral expectations.
I’m glad to year that. I hope you enjoy the movie.
Hey thanks! I really like your avatar myself, perfect shot for it.
I agree, that’s the way it should be. Don’t get your hopes too high that you’ll be let down but also don’t go in with low expectations putting the movie already in a negative view. I’m not sure but based on your personality IV, I think you’ll enjoy it.
That’s exactly the same with me. ![]()
Thanks, guys. And you’re right, Miss Carrera; I haven’t seen it yet, but it seems like my type of movie.
It looks like a mix of The Incredibles and the original Cars. Is that sort of in the ball park at all?
Yeah, I think so. I can see aspects of the Incredibles in it with all the action and stuff. And you say that you like buddy stuff and friendship is one of its biggest themes so don’t let the critics get you down, its looking good for you!
How much screen time did Sally get?
I’m very interested in that, too. I’d like to know.
Miss Carrera: That does sound interesting!
Yeah and there is something else I would say about it but I’m not sure if you know and it might be a nice little surprise for ya so I won’t say it just to be safe. As for Sally’s screen time… sigh one of the biggest disappointments. She probably only has like 7 lines in total and she’s just put in the background most of the time. ![]()
Aw. I’m sorry. ![]()
Yeah, I’m sure everybody knows she’s my favourite character so I wasn’t too happy with her role. Even my mother thought it was a bit ridiculous how much they reduced her time and she isn’t even a fan or anything. Oh well, you can’t have the cake and eat it…at least they made a sequel and we know for sure that her and McQueen are still together.
True. At least Holley is for Mater.
Yeah I didn’t like how Sally was cast aside, she deserved a bigger role. Luckily I really loved the new characters so that made up for the lack of screentime of some of the older characters. ![]()
Yeah, I thought the massive amount of new characters was amazing. I loved it! ![]()
that’s the way everybody should have gone, some people made prejudices before watching the movie
Sadly, none of the critics did that, and that’s plain to see.
You know, a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of people complained it was a long step back from WALL-E, Up, and TS3, saying it was the sequel nobody wanted. Saying it wasn’t as heartwarming as those three, not as tearjerking.
Well, whenever you suffer through a tragedy, what do you do?
You cry for awhile, think back on the good times you had, but… eventually you move on, and go back to your old self, have some laughs, and everything goes back to lightheartedness.
That’s how most people feel about WALL-E, Up, and TS3! WALL-E made them cry for the couple that almost wasn’t. Up made them cry for the sad old man who just wanted a bit of love. TS3 made them cry because they were saying goodbye to dear friends who were going off to a newer better life.
Cars 2 I see as a breather. A respite. It may not be as tearjerking or heartwarming as its predecessors, butit doesn’t need to be! It just wants to be plain, good FUN for once!
We don’t ALWAYS need Pixars films to be tearjerkers, right? We can just have fun once in awhile, right?
…I’m sorryif none of any of you think this way… I just hate seeing loads of threads on IMDb saying “I Hate This Movie! BLAAARG!”
I’m getting pretty sick of it too. Before Cars 2 came out, I held my tongue, but as it got closer, I decided I was going to defend the movie more than just qualify it.
Forgot to mention this- Iloved the movie by the way!
