Agreed SoA. I love Brad Bird.
I don’t really consider The Incredibles to be Pixar’s breakout film. I believe it was Monster’s Inc. It was really when people were getting tired of the Disney formula. So, I believe that 2001 was the real breakout year for Pixar as well as Dreamworks and Blue Sky.
Exactly.
Anyway, I don’t think TSS means it was Pixar’s breakthrough film, just a breakthrough one on its own accord.
Oh, I understand. Anyway, I like Brad Bird and I can’t wait to see how he handles his first live-action film.
Me too. I would hate if he gets bad reviews.
Same here. But Brad has yet to disappoint me. So I have high hopes for him.
I know, but directing a live action film is a different thing and involves capacities we haven’t yet tested on Bird.
Ah, good point.
Brad Bird is definitely my favorite Pixar Director.
While Brad Bird is a great director, hes not my favorite director from Pixar. That would probably go to Pete Docter.
I have a tie there. I just know it’s not John Lasseter.
I have a threeway tie there. And yest, it’s still not John Lasseter.
Another reason why I love this movie is because, as Brad Bird says, “It has everyone you would want in a movie… except popcorn. I think you’ll have to buy that.”
Well, then it has everything I want in a movie, as I dislike pop corn.
You don’t likw pop corn?
Nope.
But I’m getting far off topic here
True. What other reasons why you guys love and/or hate this movie?
I liked some of the action scenes this film had. As a whole, this movie felt like Cars 2 as far as the action goes. Don’t know if a sequel would work since it would of been quite some time since the original film. I just hope Brad Bird could come up with a creative idea if he would direct it.
I love just about everything in this movie. My brother and I just watched it recently and we were cracking up all the way through. The animation is absolutely superb. And the character building and storytelling… this is one movie that everything just seems to fit together perfectly. The only down point is how they made Jack-Jack demon-like at the end… I didn’t mind it so much, but my mom really doesn’t like it. But hey, the whole rest of the movie is so great, it kinda outweighs that little bit at the end.
On my part, I loved Jack-Jack more than any other character, which is why Jack-Jack Attack is probably my favorite feature-based short film.
