Since Bo is gone will Dolly be Woody’s new love interest in the upcoming toons unless Bo comes back. He seemed very sad when [spoil]Rex mentioned Bo and other toys being sold on yard sales over the years.[/spoil]
Many are hoping that Bonnie’s mom bought Bo Peep bet we don’t know if that really would happen. Your thoughts?
That’s what I was wondering. I’m a huge fan of Bonnie Hunt, but I’d really love it if Bo would come back, somehow at least. She and Woody belong together -Omar
Not saying there’s not a chance, but they really didn’t give us any clues about that. Plus, would Pixar really think we forgot about Bo?
I’m not sure how much of this should be spoiler tagged, but I’m going to err on the side of caution:
I’m all in favor of a potential future interest between Woody & Dolly. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Bo just fine, and she and Woody had a sweet relationship, but she’s gone (and honestly, it would be a wild coincidence if she somehow ended up with the gang again). Pixar has taught us over and over that part of life is knowing when to let go of the past and move on. What I could see is Dolly growing fond of Woody, but Woody not seeing it and not really being ready for it for a while.
Let me add that I don’t really expect Pixar to address this; I see it more as a fanfic scenario (and no, I’m not writing it, but yeah, I have been thinking about it).
Karly, that’s a great idea. I might start a fic about it. -Omar
Woody & Dolly… not at all.
Their names sound alike, but maybe only good friends. I couldn’t see anyone replacing Bo Peep.
I can’t really see them together, it might work, but I really don’t know, especially if Dolly is half Woody’s size. I think I’d rather have him with Bo Peep.
I don’t really see a Woody/Dolly match-up.
I’m sure that at some point in time Bonnie will acquire a “Barbie” doll and depending on the personality of the “Barbie”, I could see a romance between the “Barbie” and Woody. Perhaps it won’t even be “Barbie”, but one of her Barbie’s friends?
Wasn’t a Barbie intended to be Woody’s romantic interest in the first film, except Mattel wouldn’t provide their approval so Bo Peep was introduced instead?
Uh, no. Bo can’t just be replaced like that.
I can see Dolly’s persona, being a bit laid-back and pretty upfront, contrasting to Woody’s own personality - and I think it can work in tandem. I quite like Dolly as a character, and, while Bo-Peep will always be in our hearts… They wern’t married or anything! Woody should be able to “move on”.
To my feeling, Dolly can’t be the next Bo Peep.
Dolly is more hip you know and everything, Bo Pepp is more of a classic and romantic toy, Woody would never date Dolly!
obviously, ideally, [spoil]bonnie’s mom would have bought bo a few years before ts3 and maybe put her in storage when bonnie got a little too old for a shepherdess lamp.[/spoil] however, in the art of ts3 lee talks about believability and how bo is symbolic of how much the toys have lost over the years. i think the only real hope we have of bo making a return to the franchise is if any of the toy story toons are set before ts3.
Hmmm…maybe! I personally like Dolly way more than Bo. I really hope that she’s in the TS3 short that will be shown with Cars 2! But I’m not to sure about her and Woody being in a relationship. She seems like the type of gal who likes to stay independent, and I don’t see Woody trying a new relationship for quite sometime!
It could work (I’ve seeen a few fanfics about this before), but Dolly seems too… I dunno, snarky maybe? Or outgoing? Either way, she’s a sharp contrast to Bo, who was Woody’s last love interest, so it’s hard to say.
Yeah, we don’t know too much about Dolly due to little screentime, but she seems to be more outgoing, intellegent, and independent then Bo Peep was.
It would be kinda cute, but I don’t really see it happening. We weren’t given any hints that something could form between them, but you never know. I see it more as Woody, Buzz and Dolly running Bonnie’s room and just being good friends.
Forgive me, but I hardly saw Bo as being less than Dolly in those regards. Perhaps had she been made of a stronger material, Bo might’ve done more. I guess I see Bo as being akin to Deanna Troi of Star Trek TNG, the ship’s counselor, who would say obvious things. Mind you, I had a mad crush on Deanna Troi too.
The point is that, I really thought Bo fit Woody- they were both old fashioned, kind of like the “parents” of the other toys- look at how Bo keeps her sheep from bothering Rex in TS2, and even reminds Woody that Andy loves him when Woody’s too wrapped up with preparations for the trip to camp.
I guess I’m just a huge Bo/Woody fan and I can’t see Dolly as being - well not really attracted, but more like- like everyone’s said, Dolly’s independent and it just makes it hard to see her being demure like Bo or being too emotional, just yet. Kind of like Jessie- in fact I can more easily see Woody having a relationship like he does with Jessie with Dolly.
And now I’ve probably opened the worm can for all you Woody/Jessie shippers. ROFL! -Omar
Yes, that’s right. Imagine how the pictures could have been if Mattel had provided their approval?
Barbie would have been introduced in the first one, probably go out to Woody’s rescue in the second and surely be with the gang in the third, as she actually is.
But if that were the scenario, I think Ken would have been a potential rival for him and his character would be more antagonistic.
They might not have had Ken in the third movie then. Or maybe there’s be more than one Barbie by that stage, so both Woody and Ken could be happy. -Omar
