Will Dolly be the new Bo Peep?

Huzzah–I’m not the only one!

I don’t really think it’s going to happen, but I think it’s a fun, kind of weird ship that would be fun to get behind.

The thing about Woody and Bo being the “parents” of the toys (a good observation I’ve never made before) is that Dolly’s in some ways a leader of Bonnie’s toys herself (that’s the impression I got, anyway–she showed them “the wall” and is the only one with a good head on her shoulders). That’s why, even though Bo is gone, I still think Woody has some common ground in Dolly. I’m not saying it’s ever going to happen, but I could picture some sort of casual relationship over a long time.

I don’t know if Dolly was the leader of Bonnie’s gang.

I got the impression she was her usual villain, much like Hamm and Mr. Potato Head were for Andy.

I think I’m getting a vibe that [spoil]Dolly could get to like Woody - the way she calls him “Cowboy” a couple of times, in particular, is making me think that. I don’t think Woody would be quick to have feelings for her, and maybe he never would, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out. I don’t think a relationship between them will (or probably should) crop up in any future Toy Story material. Seriously, I’m just thinking of this from a fanfic-ship point of view.[/spoil]

As far as Dolly’s standing, [spoil]I’m guessing she’s one of Bonnie’s “older” toys, since she seems to be designed as a very simple doll for a very young child, but she doesn’t seem to hold the “favorite” status that Woody held with Andy. (It’s not really clear that any of Bonnie’s toys is the “favorite,” in that sense.) This is where I need to have seen the movie several more times, but I thought that, in the later play scene, it looked like Mr Pricklepants was in the role of the pie-throwing ghost, and Dolly did not appear to be a “villain” that time.[/spoil]

I guess I’m not a believer that Woody could only ever have feelings for Bo and no one else ever ever, but that’s just a product of my being old and either “cynical” or “realistic,” pick one.

I can’t see them both together. I could see her liking him but not him liking her back.

I think so, if there was to be any type of romance between the two of them, it’d most likely be this.

I don’t see that any of them will like the other one, but a lot of people in this board is saying that she could like him.

Why is that? They barely talked to each other.

What have you all lost your marbles??? I understand the idea of Woody moving on from Bo (wish it never came to this!) but Dolly? How can you guys just toss Bo to the side for some doll you’ve only seen for a total of 2 minutes? We have no idea when Bo was sold which means we have no idea how long Woody and Bo were together, but I feel it was a long time, and your all willing to exchange that for the fact that he might have something in common with some purple haired, google eyed, raggity doll? No sir! I for one will not stand for such a thing!! PLUS, shes like half his size, what is he gonna pick her up when he wants a kiss? It’s just weird guys, just weird!!!

Dolly looks like a kid, woody a full grown adult, the thought of them together creeps me out.

I didn’t want to say that aloud, but I was thinking it for a while 8D

My thoughts in short!

I can’t see Woody liking her romantically. She might have a thing for him, or maybe its just because Bonnie Hunt is voicing her and all.

The vibe I was getting is that Dolly’s been around for a long time, “You’re going to stick with that- you know, new room” and I do get the feeling she’s - I don’t know what to call it; I mean she’s clearly putting some kind of vibes out, and maybe its just how I’m reading things.

But at the same time, I don’t think Woody’s going to get over Bo anytime soon. [spoil]After the scene where Woody gets choked up about Bo being lost (via garage sale etc)[/spoil], its pretty clear to me that he’s gone over the deep end for her. Woody might be friends with Dolly, just as he’s friends with Trixie and Buttercup, but that’s about it. -Omar

I don’t get her “vibes”.

She even encourages him to escape from Bonnies house and do what he must do.

She’s not like “oh, don’t go. Stay here… with me”.

Looks like they’re toying with the idea of having Woody and Dolly together. Look at the end of this Toy Story Mania ride-

Dolly falls and Woody catches her and twirls her a little. -Omar

That does kinda look like something’s going on. But I really don’t know, we’ll just have to wait and see.

I didn’t get it like that.

To me it was like someone helping a little girl who just fell to the floor.

Trust me, I don’t like the idea of Woody and Dolly being shipped together. I figure they could be friends, but that’s about it. I just don’t see any real relationship happening between them. -Omar

i certainly hope pixar wouldn’t go as far as to replace bo, and i doubt they would. obviously however minor she was in the first 2 movies, she’s still a core character as lee says in the art of ts3. there are still people like myself who are bummed she wasn’t in 3, so it’d be kind of a slap in the face to have her position as woody’s girlfriend filled by someone else.

I think she could be but I doubt Pixar would go as far to replace Bo., although in the fanfic universe I’m all for it  Bo is gone. She isn’t coming back .We can all hope and pray all we want but it doesn’t matter, she’s not going to magically find her way back to Woody. As much as I do love Bo I think pixar took her out for a reason. If they were going to reintroduce her they would’ve. Besides, think about it in a Marlin/Coral way. Just because Marlin lost Coral doesn’t mean he can’t have other love interests (not saying he does, but he still could haha). Woody deserves to not be alone for the rest of his life and to me it seamed like [spoil] Dolly was trying to flirt with Woody when she first met him and asked his name.[/spoil] but that may just be the hopeless romantic in me  :unamused:

I’m all in favor of Woody/Dolly, but I didn’t take that as an indication of putting them together. (Not that it couldn’t be, but it didn’t really strike me that way.)

Honestly, I think any future TS stuff they do doesn’t even need to address Woody’s love life (and probably won’t). I think that’s best left to the fans.

i dont like dolly. its just not a good match.
