Worst animated movies of all time?

My least favorites are Space Chimps and Cinderella 2.

I’d say the worst movies are “Shrek” and this old movie called “Milo and Otis”

The Nostalgia Critic has convinced me to never see the animated Titanic movie, but the worst animated movie I have ever seen is not Doogal, but a little known film called Ratatooing. Made by a Spanish company that only rips-offs Pixar and Dreamworks movies, this is a disgrace to humanity. The only thing it has in common with Ratatouille is the food, rats, and title. Everything else is random and stupid. It’s boring too, as the animation is so lazy that it is unintentionally hillarious…until they repeat the same animation over and over again. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVAR see Ratatooing, unless you are in a large group and plan to have funny commentaries; in that case go right on ahead, but be warned.

Happy Feet. I do not know why everyone loves it, I was pulling my hair out! I didn’t like the story, or the characters, or the music.

And the direct-to-video sequals of classic Disney movies. Little Mermaid 2 & 3, Lady and the tramp 2, Fox and the Hound 2, Cinderella 1 & 2, Jungle Book 2, Peter Pan 2, Lion King 2, 101 Dalmations 2…and it goes on and on! The sad thing is that I’ve actually watched all of those movies.

The Black Cauldron. There’s a reason everyone forgets about that movie!

Haha, that was my favourite movie next to Cars back in 2006! Although now that I look back on it, it was mostly like a Bollywood musical- all style, and little plot! :stuck_out_tongue: Though I still have fond memories of it!

Alvin & The Chipmunks was charming at parts, but like G-Force, it is very polarising. Well, not really for this forum, but I know people who actually loved it (like my sibs)! Thankfully most people here don’t see any reason to. I mean, yes, it’s harmless fun, but very soul-killing for fans who’ve watched ‘The Chipmunks Adventure’ as a kid (like Yours Truly) to see the 'munks all jazzed up like wannabe rappers. At least G-Force was a brand-new film which made no pretensions about its target audience, and it didn’t have a legacy from a former innocent franchise, something which I think will hurt next year’s Smurfs movie as well.

People, Alvin and Co. were never meant to do contemporary hip-hop/pop music! Have secret-agent guinea pigs, or little league chickens, I don’t care, but please, for the love of all that is holy, do not tarnish the good name of a beloved childhood TV show!

Yeh, I won’t be surprised if in ten years, there’s gonna be a Banjo-Kazooie movie… with celebrity voice actors and pop culture music. Heck, even some fan fiction I write makes more sense.

(I’d kill for a movie based on any Rareware game, but that’ll just…)

Luckily I’ve never seen a movie that tarnished my childhood but I’m sure it will one day happen… (please don’t let them muck up Bone…)

oh, and I hate anything Video Brinquedo (sp) makes. They just rip off good movies and pretend it’s awesome. Which of course it isn’t.

also, I know you guys hate the Disney cheapquels, but one of the better’s still Bambi 2. It isn’t that obnoxious as all others.

I’ve decided that HAppily N’ever After is the worst animated movie I’ve ever seen. Other worthy mentionables are Chicken Little, The Polar Express, Yu-gi-Oh the Movie and any Pokemon movie after the third one.

The worst movie I’ve ever seen though is Bio-Dome.

Yes! I’m going to start a toilet-paper-and rotten egg-attack at Animal Logic if they mess this up…

I really want to check out the animated Titanic series to see how bad it gets. Apparently it’s a trilogy, and I’ve watched some of the last one. I mean, check out 6:21 of Part 1 of the Legend of the Titanic. It’s ‘cut-and-paste’! 8D

I dunno. It seems to me that the Chipmunks have been reflective of pop culture since first appearing 52 years ago. I definitely remember them spoofing a lot of hits and trends in the 80s cartoon. Heck, I even remember a version of Back In Time by Huey Lewis and the News that was sung by Alvin and the gang. And don’t forget all the albums they’ve released in their whole history.

I’ve never seen the movies but I can’t really get down on them because they seem to be doing the same thing the cartoon did back in the 80s. Bring back an old novelty act and update it for the modern target audience. The current target audience just happens to love hip hop and whatever else.

Now if it’s as well executed as the show and films from the 80s is another matter. I think most could probably agree on the opinion that this is where they actually fail, not in the actual act of updating by itself.

I despise Hunchback of Notre Dame II. Just plain diluted the message of the first film. I’ll admit I did enjoy and genuinely liked some of those cheapques such as Cinderella III, Lion King 2, Bambi 2. But seriously, end it now Disney! You want to make money? Go milk Hannah Montana for more!

Nooooo! Stop watching while your brain is alive! Especially don’t watch the sequel!

I’ll admit, the Titanic trilogy is a “So Bad, there’re Enjoyable”. I just love to laugh at the Don Bluth, Disney, James Cameron rip-offs.

Out of interest, have you been consistently watching the Pokemon films after the third one? I thought that Lucario and The Mystery of Mew was pretty decent. Head and shoulders above what passed as the English dub for the first one.

Thanks SO much for introducing me to this horrid Titanic movie. It’s hilarious.

As for what I’d add to the list… Chicken Little, Hoodwinked, and The Wild are up there. There are a few Dreamworks films I have to rewatch before I can confidently add them to this list. Oh! And Quest for Camelot and Cats Don’t Dance, although I’ve seen neither for several year, are both slight stinkers.

I’ve seen Cats Don’t Dance be treated more as an underrated flop though due to lack of marketing from Warner Bros., in the same way as The Iron Giant. Quest for Camelot on the other hand was clearly just Warner Bros. trying to get into the Disney formula.

I love Cats Don’t Dance.

I have such fond memories of watching it in my basement when I was little and used to live in Virginia.

How dare you all! :`-( Haha, it is okay if you don’t like it

I’m not saying anything about not liking it, just that both that film and The Iron Giant were given poor awareness at the time they were released. Haven’t watched it in a long time either.

Hahaha Flik-E, I know! Your post made sense; it even supported the film. I agree that it is under rated.

I was just trying to joke with queen_of_painting.

I like Cats Don’t Dance! My favorite movie directed by Mark Dindal.

I have to add Thumbelina. I’m not a big fan of Don Bluth, and that most certainly is the worst of his movies…

You have to admit though, he was a very talented artist in 2D animation.

The Wild, Chicken Little, Planet 51, and that’s all that comes to mind.

I’ve only seen the first fifteen minutes or so of Cats Don’t Dance. What I saw, I rather liked - it was colourful, quirky and, unlike Quest For Camelot, had its own distinctive flavour and wasn’t trying to emulate Disney. I keep meaning to watch the rest of it some time.

Quest For Camelot…yeah, I remember seeing a trailer for it shortly before it came out in 1998. The animation style was a very blatant imitation of Disney, but they made it seem epic enough…that is, until those annoying dragons showed up, sung excerpts from a tuneless musical number and capped it off with a most incongruous Elvis impersonation. At that point, I knew that I didn’t want to have to pay to see it in cinemas. When, eventually, it made it to television, and I saw it, I was taken back at just how weak it actually was. It’s very much a by-the-numbers affair, and the whole thing just falls painfully flat. The only positive thing I really have to say is that I liked the Griffin’s character design. It’s a shame that the character himself never amounts to much more than a bungling sidekick.
