Would you like to see Pixar and Dreamworks work together?

I can’t really tell if it would be a good idea or not.
But, imagine the great films they could do together !

What do you guys think about it ?

Personally, I would rather have them work separately, as indivisual animation studios. They can each do a good job by themselves. Maybe DreamWorks could use some advice from Pixar, but other than that, I think they’d both be fine just they way they are right now.

All I’ll say is:
HECK… NO!!!
:imp: :imp: :imp:

No- Dreamworks would drag Pixar down. Any input from Dreamworks is below the Pixar par, so unless the employees of Dreamworks just sat around making coffee for the Pixar employees all day, they’d ruin at least some element of the film.

Nah. They just won’t mix that well.

Um, I don’t mean to sound offensive, but why are all your words in bold? o.O

I don’t know.
I just wanted too.

And thanks for your opinions guys, I also think it wouldn’t make the perfect match
and that it’s not the same ambiance in the 2 studios.
I guess that’s why they couldn’t work together.

I didn’t mean to sound harsh, but please, Pixar would be degraded working with DreamWorks. I don’t even want to think about it. The only people from DreamWorks who might compliment Pixar would be their talented animators.

Sorry I didn’t know you did’nt like Dreamworks like this…

Um…

NO I WOULD NOT!!!

No. Never. No. Darn. Way.

Uh oh… Who wants pie? ;-p

I’m gonna say no. Pixar surpasses Dreamworks in everyway. If the two collaborated together, then the films might end up lacking in quality.

I think it’s actually a pretty good idea.

I don’t dislike DreamWorks, nor have I much against them, but I think both animations studios should stay separate. (unless there’s a crossover- how’ll that work out?- which is very improbable)

Pixar.rocks: DreamWorks dislikes/hates occur often, so be prepared.

Add me to the list of DreamWorks haters, they give animation a bad name. Sure their animation and character design is nice, but their stories and just about everything else they attempt to do is horrible.

You said it! This is Pixar Planet, and there’s a looong history of conflict between Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks, but I think I speak for everyone when I say we accept you no matter what you like and most of us here are animation fans in general too.
The day that DreamWorks works with Pixar is the day he world ends. :stuck_out_tongue:

Slightly off-topic: I’m gonna say it gulp, deep breath…Pixar is number one for me, but I happen to also like DreamWorks…(puts up imaginary force field because I know there are many that disagree)

I like Dreamworks too BBD. I love the Shrek movies and Kung Fu Panda. I just think Pixar is far more superior.

I like what you said there TSS, the Shrek movies are awesome but I haven’t seen Kung Fu Panda. I also love Over the Hedge. But yeah, Pixar is heaps better.

:sunglasses:

Pixar.rocks: DreamWorks dislikes/hates occur often, so be prepared.
I’ll remember that ! :stuck_out_tongue:

And i agree, i like Dreamworks and their stories but Pixar are so much better.
Did you notice that the Dreamworks feature films are for a much more older audience ?

As for you martini833 when you say “there’s a looong history of conflict between Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks”. I read in the book “To Infinity and Beyond” that before at siggraphs and stuff, they talked about what they were working on at the moment and i know that Dreamworks kinda stole their idea for A Bug’s Life (Antz). I can’t say that i know about the loong story but i’d like to .

I think that they are both for the family audience, but Pixar usually knows better when to draw the line with adult humor.

I can just imagine:

Dreamworks Script Writer: OOOH! This would be a hilarious joke! Lets put this in!
Pixar Script Writer: HECK NO! What about the younger people in our audience?
Dreamworks: Oh, come on! They won’t get it!
Pixar: But the parents will and may not like it! And besides, what if they do?
Dreamworks: So it’ll be PG? Whats the big whoop?
Pixar: THE ONLY TIME WE EVER HAD A PG FILM WAS WHEN IT WAS THE INCREDIBLES, AND THAT WAS FOR CARTOON VIOLENCE!
Dreamworks: Wow, you guys are nerds.
Pixar: Excuse me?
Dreamworks: Nerd nerd nerd, nerdy nerdy goody-goody joke writing nerds!
Pixar: GET OUTTA MY STUDIO!
Dreamworks: Fine! Lets both write our own movies!
Pixar: FINE!
Years later when movies come out and Pixar does better, critics and box office alike.
Pixar: Who’s the nerd now?
Dreamworks: Hmph.

Aren’t you exagerating a lil’ bit ?
