I have no problem with owning a jillion toys. I can play with various ones at different times and introduce a lot of diversity in my little stories! I have a bad feeling that if I ever had kids, they would be super-embarrassed to have a mom who owns more toys and animated movies than they do Of course, I’m now getting off-track big time…
The only WIR toys I find myself really wanting at the moment are the DisneyStore figurines, but I only want Ralph, Felix, Vanellope, and Calhoun. Which means… I’ll have to go and buy 'em individually off eBay! Sorry guys, but eBay is awesome to me. Wouldn’t have a lot of my cool stuff if it weren’t for it To me, the figurines are way better quality than some of the action figures I’ve seen, which is weird considering a lot of DS stuff isn’t as good to me.
And oh goodness, to name all my fave WIR parts… I’d have to rewatch it again and figure out just how to slim it down!
^ I have not seen the Disney Store Figurines! I bet they look great. Perhaps I may get those for now, and possibly the Brave ones while I’m at it. My birthday’s coming up anyway. I forgot you can buy some things off of eBay! I’ve even done it myself. Don’t be sorry, t’s not a bad place at all, you can find so many things. I think it’s just that I feel guilty sometimes. I’ve done it to complete my first Cars collection, though. I may buy something on certain occasions, but I can’t bid, whichI know from experience. I don’t think it’s actually eBay I don’t like, I just get disappointed that I can’t bid, or sometimes have to pay a lot. But I bet a lot of certain toys are worth it.
I know, me too! I would say the whole movie as well, but I was kind of able to make a somewhat narrowed down list, but that was still really hard! Did I mention that I love this movie?
This. Is such a sad but inspiring story. It’s about the former champ of Fix it Felix. Directed by visionary Rich Moore, this picture is OSCAR BAIT!

I apologize if this was posted before.

A little animation test of King Candy. This wasn’t meant to be a deleted scene from the film per say, but more like a test in the character’s behavior.
I saw that on tumblr! So much love for Eric Goldberg.
I saw Garlan Hulse: Where Potential Lives. Interesting, but not sure how I feel about it yet, I think I’ll need to re-watch it. An interesting idea, though, I suppose.
EDIT: It was kind of funny, though. It’s not bad, but it just reminds me of a TV sitcom rather than the movie is all, but that’s okay.
I’ll be honest, when I first watched this movie, I wasn’t too impressed; I was kinda hoping for more video game jokes and cameos, but the more I rewatched it, the more I realized that the movie really wasn’t about making video game jokes and references, but rather about the complexities of the characters and I’ve come to appreciate that.
I don’t know why, but this I really like this. I’m glad you liked it more the second time.
It is a movie that grows on you.
Glad you enjoy it more now, albinotanuki!
For whatever reason, since the first trailer I had a sense of how awesome this would be, and when I saw it, I loved it just like I thought I would. Still hope there will be a second film and this time, I’ll be there opening day!
Really? I thought it was terrific on first viewing.
I didn’t dislike it the first time by any means. But I’ve liked it more every time since, possibly because I thought it would be like the Star Wars of animated movies my first viewing. That happens to me a lot, I get astronomical expectations for things for no reason really. But I do love the movie and I’m not disappointed by it.
I admit I wasn’t expecting a lot from this movie. Sure it looked funny and interesting in the trailers, had a cool concept, but I totally expected run of the mill non-Pixar animated movie. Lets face it, animated kids movies these days are a dime a dozen. When you go see one of these movies thats all you see in the previews. It used to be there were a small number coming out a year, now there are countless 3D animated features a year. Ask me to count them and I probably couldn’t. Ask me how many I have gone to see and plan to see in the cinema and I can count them on one hand.
There was a little hint of hope inside of me though, since it was a Disney Animations movie and I LOVED Tangled. So I was like “Ok, won’t be disappointed if its mediocre, but I accept the possibility that it may be a decent film.”
I was pleasantly surprised, because its up there with Tangled. I found it compelling with unique characters and performances, colorful and creative design, it had a lot of newness to it but at the same time packed a nostalgic punch, and it was funny. What delighted me even more was to find out that John Lasseter was a producer of it. Although it initially shocked me because I wasn’t aware of his involvement, it also didn’t surprise me because the film was good and John wouldn’t have stepped foot in it if the story and characters were rubbish (although if you’ve seen the “deleted scenes” on the special features aka the scratch voice recordings over some of the earlier story boards, you’d see that the plot got a major makeover. It was painful to say the least).
So its definitely up there on my top list of non-Pixar favorites and is up there in the overall list 3D animated favorites.
I think John’s been producing WDAS and Disney Toon features since Meet The Robinsons(2007). He definitely is a great producer. He has a great eye for ideas that work, and ideas, that don’t work.
John Lasseter is one of the main reasons Disney has made such great films these past few years. He’s also responsible for having helped new directors and animators find their own talents. It helps that they’re brutally honest with each other when the movie blows (just watch the deleted scenes, you’ll see how terrible the movies were at times).
This movie has the potential to be overrated, but I don’t think most people are doing that. The only hard thing for me was, when I saw it the first time, I was trying to figure out how long we would be in each game world. But this is my favorite of Disney’s CG movies! I love Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, and Tangled as well, but this one really went right up my alley! I’m expecting the soundtrack to come in the mail very soon!
I love all of Disney’s CGI ventures except Chicken Little, and don’t see why some people wish they didn’t do CGI. But that said WiR is probably my 2nd favorite of the CGI Disney features thus far.
That’s great! Plus, Chicken Little (and Dinosaur) didn’t have John Lasseter. There’s no way he would have let Chicken Little out of Disney, at least not the way it came out. I also like how Meet the Robinsons is the first one to have the new (modern) Disney logo, like a breath of fresh air from their earlier CG attempts.
They new CG Disney films look very stable now. The look is comfortable and definitely more recognizable as Disney. They look like if you blended a hand-drawn Disney film with live-action. The animation is up-to-date, the only exceptions in both cases of course being Chicken Little (not up-to-date animation that looks like it’s from some random company, not Disney) and Dinosaur (I guess the characters look somewhat real in live-action backgrounds).
Sorry I got off-topic a little bit, but anyway, this film is great!
Ugh I forgot Dinosaur. I do not like that film. Nice music though. Ralph is here with Rapunzel and Anna to save us from them.
