Wreck-It Ralph

The trailer definitely has me excited. I wanna see it even more now!

Excited too over here! I can’t wait omg why must the wait be so long and grueling

“WHEN DID GAMES BECOME SO VIOLENT? And scary?”

Don’t worry, Ralph… I ask myself the same, every day. ;_;

The trailer is amazing! I love how Bowser and Eggman will be appearing in this!

That trailer was awesome! I’m hoping that this film is a huge hit and leads the way for more ambitious projects from the Mouse House.

Wreck-It Ralph looks really cool!! I’m excited about this.

“When did video games become so violent and scary?!”- Favorite line

Great trailer! If you didn’t tell me otherwise I would’ve assumed it was a Pixar movie. Great cameos, nice art direction, good jokes.

Ah, even better than I thought! Very good trailer. I’m super excited now.

All these video game cameos make my head spin…gotta wonder how much Disney forked over to pay for some of them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Whether this movie is good or bad, I’ll still end up loving it anyway. It’s impossible for me to be critical because it reaches out to the gamer side of me to such an extent that I’m just nostalgic goo in Disney’s hands. This is the movie I’m anticipating the most this year, and I’m sure that no matter what the reception is, it will be famous for a long time.

I have to say the animation looks beautiful, and I particularly enjoy John C. Reily as the titular character, who really seems to understand his character through his dialogue, rather than just spewing jokes for a paycheck.

My thoughts exactly. I liked the jokes in this trailer because they had context instead of most trailer jokes.

Also,

as q_o_p mentioned a while back, I’m kind of wondering about that Sugar Rush girl being the love interest as well. :open_mouth:

I feel kinda funny because the only video game character I recognize is the Pac-Man ghost. 8D

That would be a little creepy. They probably won’t go there :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think you need to worry about that. That would be weird, though.

I’m going to wait to see the trailer in theaters when I double-feature Brave and M3 on the 23rd. But I got to see some screenshots in an article at the Animation Magazine website, and I really like the way it looks thus far! I’m very impressed with the character design; I’ll be honest, at first I had no idea what this would look like if they did it entirely in various game styles, so I’m happy to see it incorporate the Disney CG style as well! Can’t wait!

I hope Bowser and Eggman will have more lines in this.

Is that the dinosaur from Meet the Robinsons at game central station?

I’m happy that Disney shelled out money for the character licenses. You can’t do a movie to gamers without having actual video game characters in the film. Although, I wouldn’t exactly call it this generation’s Roger Rabbit.

I’m loving the random cameos in it - Blinky the Ghost and Q*Bert were particularly funny!
Hopefully, because they obviously got the licence for Bowser, they have the whole Nintendo catalogue of characters at their disposal so we could be seeing some more random cameos from Link, Mario or Pit.

As far as the film’s timelessness is concerned… overall it ‘feels’ more like a Pixar or a Dreamworks movie. Disney are usually at their best when they either directly adapt a story like with Sleeping Beauty or Winnie the Pooh or when they use a story as inspiration, like The Lion King or Aladdin.

I can easily see Wreck-It Ralph being lumped in by critics with the mid-2000 Disney releases like Meet the Robinsons and Bolt which (despite being perfectly fine movies) don’t really feel very Disney-y.

Of course, I can’t pass judgement on the movie based on its trailer, and I’ll definitely be seeing it within the first week of its release. I just don’t think that its story will stand up against the test of time like Snow White or Bambi did.

On a completely unrelated note, I love the actors they chose to do the voices! I could go and see it just so I could listen to animated versions of Sue from Glee and Kenneth from 30 Rock.

I don’t think that will happen, because I remember reading somewhere that the deal was that they could only include characters from one franchise per company.

Wow, that was an awesome trailer!Since they have Eggman I wonder if that means we will see Sonic?

I’m on the fence about this one. I think it could be great, but I worry that Disney is losing its individuality–that whole “bad guy doesn’t mean a bad guy” line was ripped right from the Despicable Me trailers, and the girl too reminds me a little too much of that movie too. However, I think the visuals look great, I’m psyched for some awesome video game cameos (Please please include Sora at some point. Or King Mickey…even better!) and the characters seem likable enough. And is Jane Lynch supposed to be freaking Samus (or at least a Samus-stand-in?) Uh 'cause, that would be fantastic. I also like the lack of cliche love interest, from what I can see.
