You know what really grinds my gears?

I hate it when I’m doing a crossword puzzel and it looks like a word make fit because it has similer letters but it’s one letter to long or to short.

Something similar happens to me. One of the words is a longer word with another real word within it. I see the smaller word and ignore it because it’s not on the list, even though it’s part of a word that is. 8D

I kinda hate it on a video game when I’m fighting a boss and I’m about 1 hit away from killing him then I die and gotta start over again.

Oh, I hate that, too! It happened to me recently when I played Kingdom Hearts and had the second boss fight against Riku. I was so close to finish him, then BAM! He defeated me first. Now I’m currently training Sora a few levels up.

I hear you.

When you have a certain song you dislike and when you hear it that song becomes stuck to your head, kind of like peanut butter.

Haha, yeah that’s really annoying. I hate that happening as well.

For a long time I thought I was part Scottish because of my last name. I liked identifying with it and I loved it. Well, this last weekend we went to see some relatives, and I found out that a relative a ways back changed it to what it is now and it used to be something else…that’s not Scottish. So now there’s a big chance I’m not Scottish at all, and I’m really disappointed.

Ah, sorry to hear that. Interestingly enough, I have a family tree that dates back to the 1800s. Apparently I’m of Irish heritage.

It’s annoying when I need a pen or pencil and I can’t fond one anywhere. And when I am using a pen, it’s out of ink, and then the next one is too.

When film studios constantly do revivals or adaptations out of things from the past.

Agreed!!

Ugh, I’m SO sick of remakes! It seems like there have been a lot of them lately. What happened to creativity? I wish they would just leave movies the way they are and let us remember them that way.

It’s so annoying when you say you like a certain character, but have to specify what version or actor. Like, whenever I talk about liking Sherlock Holmes, I always have to say played by Basil Rathbone only.

I hear rumors about remakes of different things, it just makes me go “Ugh, please no. It was perfect the way it was!” Another thing about remakes is that if they are recent ones, there’s more [spoil]sexual stuff, violence, and bad language[/spoil] than the original. That ruins it even more for me. I hate seeing characters previously portrayed as polite, classy people, now doing all of that junk. :unamused:

Well, but the Sherlock Holmes case isn’t because of remakes.

I think my favourite one is Jeremy Brett.

I’m driving behind somebody who’s driving to slow. Then we approch an intersection and the light turns yellow. All of a sudden the person in front of me speeds up just enough so that they can make it but I can’t. :imp:

I see somebody who I think maybe cute but I can’t get a good look at their face because it’s down because their to busy doing something on their phone. Sometimes I look at them for a while but their head never come up.

I see somebody cute and I’m checking them out at a distance. All of a sudden somebody comes along and stops in the perfect spot so that I can no longer see them. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME! :smiling_imp:

I hate cheaply made things that fall about easily. My history book for my history class is falling about. I never throw it around or anything. Luckly I don’t need it anymore. Sad though, I was gonna keep it. Pity.

Especially when it is something you didn’t expect to fall apart!

It grinds my gears when you read a book and then when you look back on it you realize nothing truly happened. You just kept reading it because you thought something was about to happen but it never did. :-\

I agree about cheaply made stuff. I just finished Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Just like my other Harry Potter books, by the time I was done with it, the pages were starting to become lose from the spine.

What edition do you own?
