You know what really grinds my gears?

Good point. But siblings don’t argue forever. I still love my siblings.

Siblings (or at least sisters) are the best thing in the world. It’s a shame not everyone realize that :frowning:

I have three older sisters and even though I fight with them a lot, I get super lonely when they aren’t here. :frowning: Like now, only one of them can come home from school for Easter.

R_Rhugs I’m really lonely when my sister isn’t around too. She’s off to music camp soon, gonna miss chilling on her bed watching episodes of Merlin with a bag of popcorn…Good times, right?

Aw, I’m sorry Rac. The baby is the only sister I appreciate, because the others make my life miserable half of the time.

People who are ignorant of other people really grind my gears.

Being gone for so long.

Yes, I agree. My sister and I fight a lot and sometimes I ‘hate’ her. But she’s my best friend for life.

Amen to all of that and more.

My twin brother grinds my gears more times than any and every person on this planet. But I love him to death. He’s my best friend and my worst enemy. I can’t live with or without him.

…aww. Hearing stuff like that makes me feel sad 'cuz I don’t have siblings. :C

If on purpose, then yes, I agree.

I have two siblings and we use to bicker all the time when we were kids. Even now as grown-ups we still have the occasional quarrel, but everything sorts itself out eventually. I can’t live without my family, even though sometimes they really make me wish I could!

What really grinds my gears are Pixar fanboys (and girls). Let me define it: These are people who are incapable of accepting criticisms of the studio or its films, and lash out at others for expressing a different opinion or would rather not hear it. This has been one of my biggest bugbears of late, and it is not exclusive to this forum.

If you truly love someone, you would have the courage to point out his/her weaknesses and suggest improvements. To simply lavish praises is not doing the person (or studio) any favours.

Good point TDIT. We are Pixar Fans, but that doesn’t make us or the studio more superior, despite all of the accolades. We should be open minded.

Really good point. I really dislike when people take their fanboyism/fangirlisms to impossible heights. The worst offenders to me are those who also go bashing any non-Pixar film… sure, Pixar makes great films, but they’re not the only ones!

Now, I understand that, say, Donkey Kong Country, my ultimate favourite game, has flaws too, and I won’t go bashing anyone for not liking it, if they got a valid reason for doing so.

2000000% agreement

Anyway, one thing that reaaaaallly bugs me is when a movie is really hyped, and everyone loves it, then I see it, and am completely let down. It drives me nuts.

You’ve often made this commentary, and sometimes I think I’m included on it, as I’ve defended Pixar against some of your complaints.

But when I’ve done that is because I truly believe on it. I don’t take sides blindly, and I can list some Pixar decisions I’m not happy with, as few as they are.

I know we haven’t agreed on lots of things lately, but I wanted to let you know I’m not an extremist Pixar follower (hate the word fan).

There’s only one Pixar film I don’t love to pieces, and I don’t even hate that one. I don’t want to be an annoying fan person, but I genuinely love all of the others and like the last one(no, it’s not TS3 that I don’t love, so don’t ask. :stuck_out_tongue: ). If I ever really annoyed someone by defending the guts out of Pixar or anything else, I’m sorry.

Of course you’re not! I was not referring to you specificially. I can’t remember what things we haven’t agreed on lately, but if we did, it certainly wasn’t annoying enough for me to recall, and you’re in fact in my ‘good books’ for being an contributive member.

I am referring to the few who always feel they’re personally attacked whenever someone voices something that is contrarian. A few members have left this forum because of the intolerant attitude of a select minority, and that, coupled with a couple of blunt remarks towards Pixar critics in a few threads here angered me when I made that post. You aren’t one of them, although I can tell you are a very loyal Pixar fan from the amount of Cars wallpapers you post in the Wallpaper thread. :stuck_out_tongue:

Like I said, being a fan and a critic doesn’t have to be mutually-exclusive. People need to grow up and learn that Pixar isn’t the best studio in the world all the time.

I, on the other hand, should be the one apologising if I brought up this point too many times. It’s just that I have had a paradigm-shift since last year and I’ve come to the realisation that while I still love Pixar, it does not have a monopoly on quality animation, and a lot of the childishness and insensitivity of the elitist-extremists get on my nerves.

Exactly!

.
Ditto!

I completely agree! They need to be challenged in order to grow as artists and storytellers. Why do you think they rewrite so much? Because they try to see how they could make something even better! That applies to so many aspects of criticism, which I know all too well being an art student. I mean, I can see if someone gets frustrated by someone who goes beyond constructive criticism and outright bashes something Pixar has made, but still.

WOrking at schools can be a joy and an annoyance at the same time. There are some kids who are adorable, but they are too hyper to be controled. It can test my patience the amount of times I have to tell them to “shhhhhhh”. I actually hate using punishing methods to get them to quiet down.

People who say absolutely horrible things behind their friends back but won’t say it to their face.
People who just think their better than everyone else.
People who underestimate other people. I mean you don’t know what a person’s capable off.
And finally people who blame other people for the mistakes they made.
