Apologies if I said this before in this thread, but I feel it necessary to emphasize, given how many people support Animal Rights, for instance: two things that REALLY grind my gears are people who think they’re better than everyone else, especially in the world of politics, and people who try to make others go back in time with educating about snakes and other reptiles; as in, people who exploit fear of reptiles, even if it means lying (i.e. the media demonizing reptile lovers, and USGS implying that Burmese Pythons are not cold-blooded with their “potential range” political propaganda).
I think it’s ok if you ask someone if the platonic relationship is really a romantic one, and if it isn’t, it isn’t. But if you assume it is, and go straight to thinking, “oh yeah, they’re totally in love”, yeah, that would bother me, which is why i feel kind of offended about what several people have said about this matter earlier because i’m at guilt to think that I’m a gear grinder to some. I don’t want to be that, this is such a great place to have great people to talk to, and i really don’t want to be put on a list of foes here and there or thrown into the gears of someone and grind them!
Hannah Montana also grinds my gears. I feel like she’s insane, with a double personality she embraces into her life.
My computer has been grinding my gears lately. I have had a lot of malware and virus attacks as of late. I almost had to get a new computer, but all/most of the problems have been taken care of.
I feel annoyed when people say they love films but are biased against animation, as if it weren’t true filmmaking.
I feel equally annoyed when people say they love films but the only they they really like is animation.
Those bother me a bit too Spirit.
I agree. I have a lot favorite animated movies, and I want to work in the animation field, but it’s better to taste everything. I’ve been watching much more live action lately, more specifically time pieces, costume dramas, and Science Fiction. I also love musicals, regardless of the medium. I probably seem like I only like animation, since I talk about it all the time. But I appreciate all good film and love a lot.
My mom is really driving me nuts lately.
Some of the girls in my school chorus just annoy me. Now, there’s a steady group of geeky, fun juniors and sophmores that like me a lot, and I have a couple friends in my grade, but all the freshman and senior girls always seem to act like I’m something they just scraped off their shoe. I try to be friends with them, but you know. There’s one girl in particular that I used to be good friends with, but nowadays every time I try to interact with her she just gets this look on her face that’s like “Ugh, not you again” and finds every excuse to scold me like I just did something horribly offensive. I hate the feeling that everyone is judging you, and that’s what I always get from them.
I’m sorry, Rac. Being ousted for no appaerant reason is never good. But, their loss. They’re the losers in that situation.
Rac, i feel the same way about you about this person in my grade level, except for the ‘we used to be friends’ part.
People who think i’m mean grind my gears. I would be even more harmless than a box of kittens!
Those things cause more death annually in the US than wolverine attacks.
…
I just made that statistic up.
When people are ignorant of anything, especially what most people would consider trivial; Disney and Pixar not being the same thing, for example.
^ Thanks! I’ve had actual fights with people who think Disney “makes” the Pixar movies
It annoys me more than any personal insult I’ve ever received(and I get a lot of those). I also get very annoyed when people call Pixar films bad. If you don’t like all of them, fine. Whatever. But none of them are bad.
However, you’re description of bad may be completely different from someone elses. So from another person’s world view, Pixar movies can be horrible.
I personally don’t find a movie’s quality debatable. You can dislike or hate a movie, but that hardly relates to the quality.
^ Exactly.
Quality is more of a convention.
I see Disney and Pixar at two different wavelengths of animation, nothing more.
Walking around for too long, too far grinds my gears, and they’re grinding my legs up right now.
Wavelengths? Not sure I follow. Anyway, I love both companies equally right now, but their movies are entirely different.
I get annoyed with my siblings when they want to borrow something of mine and they never give it back. Days later, they would claim that the stuff I let them borrow is actually theirs.
Siblings annoy me in general. My brother and sister, we argue all the time.
