I actually tried the same kind of headset that Mitch has with my Mac (I bought them before Mitch told me not to) and the microphone didnāt pick up any sound. I, too, thought that they should work, but they didnāt. Iām not sure why. I ended up returning them and buying a USB headset instead.
Mitch - I agree with Rachel that (unless heās really busy) your uncle will probably get your computer back to you fairly quickly.
Rachel and qxgnxamy - Itās not that simple. My uncle lives a couple of hours away from us, and the only reason heāll actually be able to take a look at the hard drive next week is because his wife is coming down here to visit some relatives, so sheāll be able to pick up the thing and take it back to her house. I have no idea how long it will take my uncle to fix the computer, or how we would get it back without having one of us drive two hours to get it.
As for the headset, I may just have to obtain another pair (or, as you mentioned, qxgnxamy, purchase a USB set) that will work with my dadās MacIntosh.
That aside, another barreir has arose, which may affect all commentaries I participate in for this month and, quite possibly, next month.
Notice to All: Due to various circumstances, I may not be able to join in with you guys during the Your Friend the Rat commentary this Saturday, the Ratatouille commentary, and, possibly, other future commentaries. Iāll keep you updated.

Novemeber seems to be fine with me for the Rataouille commentary. Plus, all of my thankgiving week is most likely off.

FYI, this will be the first manifestation of my voice in the public domain of the Internet, as I have never done reviews, commentaries or any other appearances, videos, photos or otherwise. No, I donāt have a Facebook, MySpace or whatever online social networking site, so donāt bother finding me. Heck, I donāt even have MSN! 
I only participate in this forum and Varaces, and my only creative works are on YTube (though DeviantArt and FanFiction are in the works). My online identity has remained a secretā¦until now. So please understand that for me, this is a very daunting experience.
Coupled with the fact that I have a crazy load of assignments this week and I havenāt even seen (although Iāve heard) of this short, and youāve got one very nervous first-timer here. But I so much want to do the future Ratatouille movie, so Iām willing to give this a shot.
With regards to preparations, Iāve got a Skype account on XP, and a working MacBook Pro. My Mac comes with a built-in video camera and microphone, and the last time I tried conferencing with my parents was a couple of months ago, so Iāll try again to see if it still works (yes, I still talk with my parents, itās just that they call my broās laptop more often, and lately my account hasnāt shown up on their screen even when Iām logged in. Iāll try calling my bro again and see if my name turns up). With regards to time, this will probably be the most insane (in a good way) weekend of the year so far, because after I clear the hurdles of my assignments on Friday, Iāll have to hustle to finish my Wall-E parody and release it on YT in time before I, yes, watch Wall-E himself in cinemas this Saturday! Opening weekend, here I come! So itās great that this commentary has been postponed to Sunday, but Iāll still try to work off my (hopefully) supreme joy after having witnessed my most anticipated film of 2008. You have no idea how long Iāve been waiting for thisā¦
So the only thing left for me to do is get YFTR. Yes, as I mentioned earlier, I still havenāt seen it and the only place I could view it is on YT, but you know their slider is (annoyingly 
) at 5 second intervals! So I canāt get to the precise frame to synch with you guys. Iāll need a copy real fast before Sunday (1 day ahead Down Under).
Oh, and thatās a real bummer, Mitch. Although I have yet to listen to the first recording, Iām sure you would have been a great addition for a second go. Personally, I donāt see why we have do the Ratatouille commentary once. We could, like YFTR, do a first draft (as none of us has ever done a feature-length) and get Mitch in on the second (if final) one. Nobody said we canāt do a test drive. 
But Iām also open to waiting till November, when most of us would be more free during the winter breaks (or summer, in Oz). No rush, and think of it as delayed gratification. Anyway, whatever trouble youāre having, Mitch, I hope you can pull through and resolve it successfully.

We were all pretty nervous the first time around, but after a few minutes we got adjusted, and the end result wasnāt too bad for a first try (in my humble opinion). Iām sure youāll have a great time.

Mitch- It just wouldnāt be right to do the Ratatouille commentary without you! And if that means leaving it for a month or two, then I canāt see any problem with that. If weāre going to do this thing, we might as well do it right.
Anyway, I agree with Rachel, this might be a blessing in disguise, as the extra time will mean that when we do do it, weāll be very prepared.

Well, I am afraid if there is a future TI commentary, I might talk too much or too little. I have a lot to say, but there are times when I try to find new things, and that usually results in silence.
Mitch - Thatās ok. I was looking forward to doing the commentary with you, but I can wait. =) Iāll just put my time into other fandom stuff, or maybe organise a different commentary, in the mean time, if thatās ok with you. What movie wouldnāt be right if I didnāt join in, Mitch? Ha-ha! No, you couldnāt answer that 'cause I havenāt officially made up my mind of which is my favourite. Heheh.
TSS - You mean when you do a commentary by yourself? If you had other people to do it with you, the pressure would be off of you and there isnāt anything wrong with silence, even real commentaries have it. Iām sure youād be a natural at participating in a The Incredibles commentary.
Well, thanks rachel. But I just wanted to let you know that I have done commentarys on TI several times before. It is just finding different things to say are whats hard for me.
Yeah, like i watched Ratatouille probably 50 times and i always manage to see something i hadnāt seen before, and iām like, wow ! How come i didnāt see that ?
Well, over the summer, I believe I have seen Ratatouille 20-30 times total. BUt I only watch it for enjoyment, so next time I watch it, Iāll observe a few things.
Yeah well i only do that on Ratatouille, i guess you do the same thing with TI.
Well, when I watch TI Pixar.rocks, it is usually a mix between observation and enjoyment.
