With a title like “Your Friend the Rat,” it sounds like one of those old single-reel movies they used to show in schools… I know this isn’t the best comparison, but I’m thinking of something like this: “Posture Pals” (Since this is the clip as aired - and joked upon - on Mystery Science Theater 3000, I’ll warn you there might be some language or other rude references.)
It’ll be on the regular DVD too, right? Not just the Blu-Ray? Anyway, 2D! That certainly sounds fab! I cant wait to see what they do with that!
Sure will, lennonluvr!
Thomas Huxley - aka bawpcwpn - from Upcomingpixar made a news about Ratatouille DVD/BR. He found this link, in which you can read the following description of Your Friend The Rat : “Remy and Emile star in an all-new animated short film.”
So now we know what characters the short will feature
Archibald - Oh yes, I recently read that on bawpcwpn’s blog. I sure hope that a commentary will be included…
Something tells me that this short will set my sister and I into quiet hysterics, though I’m not exactly sure why. I’ll just have to wait and see!

Should we add Your Friend the rat to the offiicial canon of short films by Pixar on Wikipedia??
Yay! It has got emile and remy in it! I can’t wait to see it! This short might actucally take a top spot in my favorite Pixar Shor List.
Oh. This is going to be cute. I just hope that it doesn’t involve a little rat sized new car I wonder what it’s going to be about (any ideas?).
I can just imagine the bad puns they’ll put in the ads when christmas rolls around, even more obscure than “the best place to find Nemo is under the tree” they might haul out the worst pun imagineable. They might reference the opening lines of twas the night before christmas.
Hee hee
MiniChuchan - I imagine that the short will center around one of Remy and Emile’s many adventures in the countryside or in the city of Paris itself. So many ideas could be concocted out of this simple premise. We’ll just have to wait and see!
As for the whole advertising deal: I sure hope that they don’t “ridiculize” their catch phrases to the point of ludicrousy. But hey, this is the marketing universe. (snigger)

Hehe, I wish that Linguini could make a little appearance… It probably won’t happen, but who knows?
Maggie - He might! I sounds like more of a “rat-to-rat” type short, but anything could happen…
– Mitch
That’s what makes me believe he’s probably not going to appear…
But you’re right, anything can happen!
I think he might. I would love to see Linguini as a 2D animated character!
I’ve heard about this short, for some reason I don’t like 2D, but if Your Friend The Rat is going to be in 2D I will watch it anyway.
PL: I think it is good to be opened minded with 2D animation. I know we all love the characters of Pixar in 3D, but you have to admit, it all started with a 2D sketch on paper.
Sweet! I was afraid I wouldnt get to see it. And since it’s in 2D, I’d be very disappointed at that.

Yes, your right. Well if you put it that way I can’t wait for this short.
PL: There you go!
kinda off topic
is anyone gonna make a wikipedia page for it?
Does anyone know what it’s about or where I could look that up?
