Dinosaur actually got a Fresh rating, though it is from the site that ranked Home on the Range higher than Robin Hood and Oliver & Company.
Also, some people think the modern Dork/Dark Age started back further with Pochahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan & Tarzan.
Also also, you don’t think in the distant future Disney’s recent successes will be put in the Vault? (E.G. Lilo & Stitch)
I don’t think Pocahontas is a very good movie. I like it, but whenever I watch it, there are just so many parts that could have been better. As for the ones after Pocahontas, I believe they are just as good as the first half of the Renaissance.
Robin Hood-So much reused animation but I enjoyed it. Could have have been better
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-I loved it
Fox and The Hound-Made me cry I loved it too\
The Rescusers-It was a decent movie nothing special
The Great Mouse Detective-Loved it
The Black Caludron-Idk I remeber when I saw it back on the old days when Disney XD was Toon Disney. I went into it with high expectations and was very dissapointed. It was a very bad movie.
Oliver and Company-It was alright should have been better though.
I rewatched Home on the Range earlier and I liked it. I enjoyed it. The jokes were usually decent. I was alright with its fast pacing. The characters aren’t as loveable as Lilo and Stitch, but the main cow’s alright. And the villain’s nephews were great and hilarious. I know character development isn’t too good, but it’s not what Disney will always do awesome in.Although, I didn’t like the songs too much, maybe save for the yodelling song, and they aren’t very memorable. The plot is kind of standard, it’s like that ‘Big Damn Movie’ thing where characters have to save something. But has Disney tackled it before? I’m not bugged by the animation much, I don’t know what stiff animation is, and I didn’t notice the CG too much (or maybe that’s due to the small DVD player) and look at Oliver & Company have the same problems (or so I’ve heard).
I’ll give it a 7/10
Chicken Little was alright. Usually the jokes can be corny, but sometimes quite decent. The songs are usually good. I heard the characters are unlikable, and maybe they’re not too special. The plot does take a unique twist on the whole Sky is Falling story. And the performances add a good pro to the movie, though I only know of one or two of them. The animation wasn’t ‘pitiful’ to me, at least it wasn’t video Brinquedo. It was, okay, alright, don’t hate it.
Totally agree! Some of them are very good. And then, some aren’t great, but I still don’t see how anyone “hates” them. Then there’s Chicken Little…that one’s just bad.
Y’know what? The real first Dark Age of the studio was when WWII invaded the studio and they were forced to make package films. I mean think about it. Do people usually know these even existed? Heck, Make Mine Music didn’t even get a DVD release in the UK!
Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Fun and Fancy Fee, Make Mine Music Melody Time The Adventures of Mr Ichabod and Mr. Toad.
I haven’t seen any of those films from the 70’s so I can’t offer my opinions on them. I’m pretty sure Disney went downhill after the Renaissance was over under Eisner. I do admit I liked Lilo and Stitch. Since Lasseter took over the company, their films have been getting better. Disney’s films haven’t done well at the box office because of bad marketing and poor release dates. Tangled was actually the first Disney film to gross over 200M or over since The Lion King.
