Your Pixar Movies Classification

Having now seen Toy Story 3, I can add it to my list- though this is a tough one!

  1. Toy Story- don’t think anything will ever knock this one off its perch!
  2. WALL-E
  3. Monsters, Inc.
  4. Toy Story 3
  5. Finding Nemo
  6. Toy Story 2
  7. The Incredibles
  8. Up
  9. A Bug’s Life
  10. Cars
  11. Ratatouille

Hmm. Choosing between Up and Wall-e was not fun.

1.)Wall-e
2.)Up
3.)The Incredibles
4.)Toy Story 3
5.)Monsters Inc
6.)Finding Nemo
7.)Toy Story
8.)A Bugs Life
9.)Toy Story 2
10.)Cars
11.)Ratatouille

Wow, Pixar fans have lots of different opinions. Some people’s number 1’s are at the bottoms of other’s, and it seems like no two lists are identical. I know I’ve already made a list (and I’m not changing it in any way), but I’m assigning a "trophy’ to each one.

#11- Cars- “The Worst Pixar Movie”
It pains me to say this is my least favorite, because it is soooooo awesome! Not just on an entertainment scale, or by it’s cool moments and jokes, but by it’s touching scenes and well written screenplay. The more i realize how awesome this movie is, and the more I realize this is the worst, the more I realize how incredible Pixar is. That’s all you need for a film to work.

#10- A Bug’s Life- “The Darkest Pixar Movie”
I love this movie, and it deserves more than simply being called the darkest, but everything it does right has been done slightly better in other Pixar films. It is dark though, and gave me nightmares when I was a kid.

#9- Toy Story 2- “The Most Critically Acclaimed Pixar Movie”
One of the best sequels of all time, Toy Story 2 is better than the first (but I put it lower because it doesn’t have the same nostalgic effect). And then there’s Jessie’s song…

#8- Monsters, Inc.- “The Funniest Pixar Movie”
In my opinion, the jokes here work more than any other Pixar film, although most of them come from either Mike or Roz. However, for every laugh here there’s a sad scene, and boy is it sad at times. The ending door-chase scene is one of the most visually amazing scenes ever (but we’re just getting started).

#7- Toy Story- “The Most Nostalgic Pixar Movie”
Everybody who has seen a Pixar movie has seen Toy Story, and everybody who has seen a movie has seen Toy Story. Essentially everyone has seen this movie, and I don’t think many people disliked it either.

#6- The Incredibles- “The Most Action Packed Pixar Movie”
This is a no brainer, but Pixar’s only super-hero film has the best action. It’s good enough to be compared to most live action action movies (and Brad Bird is directing MI4). What a great film (I have got to stop saying that).

#5- Finding Nemo- “The Most Sucessful Pixar Movie”
This movie made about 400 million dollars nationwide, and about 800-900 million dollars worldwide! I still cannot believe that, but this movie was a huge step up for Pixar. While it is one of their funniest, Pixar has far less jokes here than their previous four, and we got what would be soon known as the Pixar-emotional touch in all of the rest of their films after Cars (which is why the next movies are in the top 4).

#4- Ratatouille- “The Best Written Pixar Movie”
The dialogue here is so beautiful, that you almost forget it is animated. The visual aspects are beautiful too, but the movie as a whole is what should be celebrated. Certain details make it feel like a high budget independent French movie, and the score is fantastic. In preparation for Wall-E, Pixar proved that they could master a scene with zero dialogue (the scene of Ego’s backstory with the ratatouille), and it stood out as the most memorable scene.

#3- Up- “The Saddest Pixar Movie”
This movie arguably has the best score (or at least the most liked), but to me it’s the saddest. Married Life, My Adventure Book revisited, and The Ellie Badge are three of the saddest scenes from any movie, and here they all are in the same one. Bravo Pixar, but we still have two left.

#2- Toy Story 3- “The Most Emotional Pixar Movie”
There’s a difference between being sad and being emotional. Sadness is strictly sadness, but being emotional means you express several different emotions around the same time. That is exactly what Toy Story 3 does. Up was my runner-up for almost a year, but this knocked it off it’s throne. It’s funny, epic, nostalgic, action-packed, dramatic, scary, clever, sad, and all around uplifting. As the trilogy ends, so does our childhoods, but I still have one more.

#1- Wall-E- “The Best Movie Ever”
It’s kind of obvious, but usually a PixarPlanet member’s favorite Pixar film is his/her favorite film in general. That is the case for me with Wall-E. It is perfect. It has the best score, story, characters, romance, sound effects, animation, Easter-Eggs, and it is the overall best movie ever made (in my opinion). Most of the time I have to convince myself I love these other Pixar films instead of just Wall-E, and most of the time I forget any other movies exist when I watch it. It makes me cry, laugh, and feel inspired every time I see it, and I’ve seen it a lot of times. The following it has created for it is enormous, and I am proud to be a part of that following. Maybe in the future it will even be a cult film (since most average movie goers see Wall-E as the worst simply because it isn’t funny enough). I could talk about it for hours (which i might some day), but I must end this now.

Well said, Chuckles. I don’t think I could have described them better than you did.

Very nice Chuckles! I think you gave an appropriate trophy for each movie (except for Cars, but that’s my opinion). Anyway, thank you for sharing!

I hated to give the trophy for Cars too, but what else could I have given it?

I don’t know if other people agree, but if I were to give it an award, it would be Best Soundtrack. But that’s just my opinion.

  6. The Incredibles
  7. Toy Story 2

My new list. I juggled the 3 Toy Story movies around a lot since my last revision. I have a feeling TS3 might go down a bit after my release hype is over :stuck_out_tongue:

  4. Toy Story 2
  5. Toy Story
  6. The Incredibles

  2. Finding Nemo: I loved was simply lovely.
3.Wall-e: A Masterpiece of Pixar makes you think.
    4.Ratatouille: Very Creative
5.Up: This movie is sad but in the end the house is in Paradise Falls.

  3. The Incredibles: The movie Pixar further action by saying that I love this movie if it is of superheroes, well done.
7.Toy Story Toy Story films, have been playing more and better
    8.Toy Story 2
    9.Cars

  4. A Bug’s Life

Hi! I’m new around here by the way. I haven’t seen Toy Story 3 yet, I am on Saturday, and I can tell it’s gonna be amazing. Anyway, here’s my classification.

  1. Toy Story
  2. Wall.E
  3. Monsters Inc
  4. Up
  5. The Incredibles
  6. Toy Story 2
  7. Cars
  8. Ratatouille
  9. Finding Nemo- don’t get me wrong, I love this film.
  10. A Bug’s Life.

Nice list you’ve got there, and welcome to the boards, cam sh!

Thanks! I’ve been trying to get on to this forum for ages, and now I’m here!

Yeah, welcome, cam sh! You should go introduce yourself on the intro thread!

Nice list! Can’t wait to here where Toy Story 3 lands on it once you see it! And you’ll have buckets of fun here on the boards.

God, this is going to be painful…

  1. The Toy Story Trilogy (all one entry)
  2. Wall-E
  3. Up
  4. The Incredibles
  5. A Bug’s Life
  6. Finding Nemo
  7. Monsters, Inc.
  8. Cars
  9. Ratatouille

…that was painful. Having to rank 11 of the best films I’ve ever seen… hard. 1-7’s scores all range from 10/10 to 9/10 for me, so it made me feel bad to put one masterpiece below another. I couldn’t even choose between the three Toy Stories, so I cheated and put them all as one entry. :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. The Incredibles (98/100)
  2. Toy Story 3 (97/100)
  3. Up (96/100)
  4. Finding Nemo (94/100)
  5. Toy Story 2 (91/100)
  6. Toy Story (90/100)
  7. Ratatouille (89/100)
  8. A Bug’s Life (88/100)
  9. Cars (86/100)
  10. Monster’s Inc (83/100)

I haven’t seen WALL-E yet  I put the /100’s to just give a generalization of the differences between each film of how I like them. I would put 100 for The Incredibles, but I took 2 of because, well… nothings perfect :stuck_out_tongue:

You must do so.
Do so NOW. That’s an order, son!
