I think by now we can all assume that all the reviews Mr White gives are opposite. If you take the polar opposite of what he says on a movie, 98% of the time you’d agree with him. I believe he’s a scam, making false reviews simply for the attention. I even wrote a rather long essay about Armond White for school once. I got an A+ on it. In fact, the moment I saw a thread saying that Toy Story 3 got its first negative review, I thought to myself: it just has to be Armond White, right? Worst of all, he’s actually inspired other critics to have similar techniques in giving the opposite review for certain films and what they deserve. Praising crap and putting gold in a state of shame. I hate how people can be sometimes.
You actually wrote an essay on him? That is just excellent. I bet you had fun writing it. And you’re probably right. Maybe he just bashes great films because he’s an attention-seeker. Chopperface made a good point too.
It was fun indeed. Mostly because I didn’t even have to come up with many jokes, his reviews wrote themselves. What I basically did was introduce him and give a summary of how notorious he is amongst movie lovers, and then I took his reviews for District 9 and Coraline (really his review for Wall-E in disguise) and analyzed them while explaining what kind of a person he is. If you guys want to read it I suppose I could make a thread for it.
I’d love to see it. Sounds interesting. 
His isn’t the only rotten review for the movie, hasn’t been for a while.

It would be one thing if he honestly didn’t like the movie. People are entitled to their own opinions, after all. But he just writes reviews contrary to what everyone else thinks, cause he obviously wants attention. He said The Dark Knight sucked, and that Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a good movie…I don’t think so.
I know. Cole Smithey gave it a bad review too.

Honestly, I think Armond is a pretty interesting reviewer. His reviews are nonsense, but are fun to read. I listened to him on a podcast once, and he is actually a smart guy, but very mischievous in the way he words things, dodges questions, etc.
I’d give the “worst critic” award to Pete Hammond. He pretty much spews out words just to get on the back of the DVD cover.
Bryko, I agree with you. He’s not really a bad critic, because he gets attention. However, he is a terrible, nasty, hell-bound poop face.

I can’t stand Armond White. Total troll, through and through his reviews. Not only does he make outlandish comparisons (Transformers 2 to… Toy Story 3??), the rare movie he does give a good review to (Coraline) hardly even talks about the movie. Said review was him bashing on WALL•E rather than talking about CORALINE and how it’s a good movie.
Y’know, I’m surprised he hasn’t been banned yet. Hasn’t RT taken notice of all the flaming comments he gets for his reviews? Especially Toy Story 3? You’d think they’d catch on by now, but nooo…
I think they have to follow the rules of Free Speech.
Wow, after just reading his “review” of Coraline, I can’t take it anymore. This piece of trash needs to have his job as a critic taken off him. I think I might write a rant about him on my Gamespot profile.
