The logo of this movie look really generic, only big fonts with a photoshop filter, I seen the trailer… the backgrounds no is big detailed like other modern movies. Maybe I see it on dvd.
Sorry for bumping this up-the mods are going to KILL ME!-but since the film is being released very soon,it’s time for the reviews!
I recently found this one on Yahoo:Review: `Bee Movie’ Has Familiar Buzz
My favorite part of the review has to be this:

This guy hasn’t been sizing up the Pixar/Dreamworks landscape for the last ten years, has he? Not that I won’t see it, because it looks like it could be worth a few laughs.
I agree with you all the way. I’m always saying this to my family when we talk about actors in animated films. One of the reasons I think Pixar does such a great job with the characters in their films is because they use talent instead of famous actors/actresses all the time.
Jerry, it pains me to say this because I love you to death, but I give Bee Movie a C. It’s funny and cute, but the ending is completely farfetched. [spoil]The plane landing scene? C’mon. The strength of a million bees does not equal that of Superman. And pollination does not revive dying flowers and trees to perfect health in a matter of seconds.[/spoil] ![]()

One of the things that profoundly disturbs me on a visceral level about these movies is when an animated fish or bee has not only a celebrity’s voice, but also their face. I don’t need my fish and bees to have human faces, it’s creepy.
Finding Nemo doesn’t count because they still kinda look like fish.
Tell me about it.
They did the same thing with Shark Tale.
The TV commercial has the phrase “eyewww, poo water” in it. That pretty much loses me right there. I’ll probably see it on DVD, though, just since it’s animated
.
PV - I guess that were following that cartoon logic . You know, the whole " It’s a cartoon, we can do whatever the heck we want " thing. So you give Bee Movie a C , eh? To be honest with you, I probably won’t be seeing this thing in the theater, but I’ll give it a shot someday.
Ya it’s extremely creepy, and gross. That’s why I hate Shark Tale so much, plus it had bad animation.
I saw it.
Loved every single minute. It’s easily the second-best animated movie of the year, behind Meet the Robinsons.
I really wanna see it … maybe I’ll see it during thanksgiving break. It looks good.
And the bee is cute. =D
You rank both of those movies above Ratatouille? ![]()
~~=oP
Easily. Perhaps Ratatouille will get better when I get it on DVD. Until then, it’s number 3.
EDIT: I forgot I saw Surf’s Up this year too. It’s actually number 3, not Ratatouille ![]()
My brother is totally hyped up to see this movie. Not so much for me, because once you show me an incredible animated movie like Ratatouille, then it is hard for people to get me to like or watch other animated movies.
I heard a lot of bad things about it, but I’m not going to follow reviews. Last time I did I regretted it. Though, it’s not just because I’m a Pixar fan- for some reason Dreamworks films just don’t … get me. ![]()
It’s called ‘Bee Movie’. I mean, if A Bug’s Life was called ‘Bug Movie’ or Ratatouille was called ‘Rat Movie’, that immediately gives you an idea of what the film’s gonna be like. It sounds cheap and nasty, but will probably have it’s funny moments and will use popular culture to make you laugh. I haven’t seen it or anything, but even when it comes out I still probably won’t. Dreamworks has disappointed me one time too many.
I heard a lot of bad things about it, but I’m not going to follow reviews.
So did I, but that didn’t stop me from seeing it.
There are many reasons I don’t trust critics.
Yeah the “Bee” movie name kinda through me off. I hear there are a lot of bad bee puns in that movie too. herm. I just don’t know…Dreamworks… I just don’t know about them… I guess I have a hard time taking that studio seriously after hearing theyre ending Shrek at Shrek 5…or was it 6…I cant remember…but still… and Madagascar 2? it sounds like Dreamworks is going down that deep dark road of lack-luster sequals like the rut Disney was in. So disapointing, I know very well that everyone at Dreamworks are capable of great things…theyre are some AMAZING artists there.
My mom calls it “C Movie”… ![]()
I haven’t seen the film myself yet, but my dad saw it and said that it was entertaining, but overloaded with gags. I saw the trailers and a few video clips in the theater and on the Bee Movie page on Yahoo! and deemed the production to be…fairly interesting but too over-the-top as far as the jokes go. I’m slightly curious, but I’ll only go to see the film itself if someone else pays for it in a monetary fashion. I ain’t wasting my money on an hour and a half of…spoiled honey. ![]()
I’m glad some of you guys liked it, in any case. I, on the other hand, shall wait until the DVD comes out to take a peek at it.
