Bee Movie

I heard many mixed reviews from people, but overall, my pals told me it was an enjoyable film.

Cars is a movie about cars titled “Cars”. :stuck_out_tongue: But yeah, tacking the word “Movie” onto a movie title is cheap.

~~=oP

You’ve got a point there-but most of the time I’m too busy looking at the bright,SHINY logo to care about the title…see,if Pixar comes up with a plain title, they make a really spiffy logo to get you distracted and not think about the title…

but 99.9% of the time both the title and logo is spiffy.

Take that,Dreamworks! :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed… That’s what makes Pixar so great.

The easter egg hidden on the right pot of the Ratatouille DVD’s main menu shows they nearly took the DreamWorks route.

~~=oP

Yeah, but even that’s not as bad as ‘Car Movie’!

Toy Story (2)-Toy Movie (2).

A Bug’s Life-Bug Movie.

Monsters,Inc-Monster Movie.

Finding Nemo-Lost Little Fish Movie.

The Incredibles-Superhero Mo-

I can’t continue! It’s too hard to think about our dear Pixar giving their movies such,er,titles! [/drama queen]

PV-Like I said,as long as the logo is spiffy,I don’t really care about the title.Actually,I do.But let’s not screw me up here,shall we? :stuck_out_tongue:

AP- Lol, but the title gives the viewer a first impression of a film! And the fact is that I’m not going to waste my hard-earned money to go and see a film that I already think is tacky.

Unlike DreamWorks, though, Pixar isn’t stupid… :stuck_out_tongue:

Man, that was mean. Perhaps I should take it back…

No it wasn’t.

rachel - Puh-ha! Yeah, I guess you have a point there.

I used to be a big fan of DreamWorks until they lost a grip on their plot-line rope (or, er, directing line). Should they get their act back together I might actually show some respect for them again, but presently…I couldn’t care less about the productions they roll out, unfortunately.

Here is what I found about Bee Movie according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Got that right, PV!

I want to go see this movie while in theaters when i have the time and the money. I know a theater were this is playing and it woun’t cost me a arm and a leg. It would only cost me $4.00 before 5 p.m. if this movie does suck, i only wasted only a few dallors.

I saw it this weekend … I have officially decided that Adam is my favorite …
… although he was already my favorite a bit , since he’s played by Matthew Broderick

But Adam and I have one big thing in common [spoil] We love Cinnabon !!

and when he almost died because he stung the mean fat man , i wanted to cry , in my mind i was thinking , ’ whatever you do don’t sting him ! You’ll die ! and then I’ll crey , like in Finding Nemo !!’ [/spoil]

Just wanted to throw out an interesting observation. Jerry Seinfeld is doing a new computer (I think it’s Dell or Intel or something) Commercial where he refferences Bee Movie. At the end he gets an e-mail from DreamWorks execs reminding him he has to make two plugs for Bee Movie not just one.

I started cracking up because it just sounds like a business/money oriented something that DreamWorks would do and is just one more reminder of the differences between them and Pixar.

i saw that commerical a few times.

Oh I know that commercial. I see it almost everytime I watch the football game on TV. I think it was rather clever, but it didn’t really inspire me to go see it, yet.

yeah that’s a funy commercial . It 's for HP …

lizardgirl: just by reading the quote of yours that you posted , i’m just gonna say this , although somebody ,might have said this …

The movie is called bee movie for two things , the fact that it’s about bees , but also because it realates to B-movies , movies that were not shown across america for example : “The Little Shop of Horrors” , which was soon made into a musical and then a movie/musical …

So they probably would’ve named it something else , if it weren’t for the reason that Seinfield made a joke with Stephen Speilbrg about this … only Speilburg didn’t think it was a joke …

glp- Aaah, right, I wasn’t aware of that! I’m a pretty big fan of B-Movies myself- sometimes it’s nice to watch something that isn’t so widespread. I guess the irony of the title would’ve been more effective if the film were about B-Movies, or had any relation to it; admittedly, I haven’t watched the film myself, but ideally something as important as that should be made obvious in the adverts if it is a strong theme throughout the film. But, thanks for the insight there!
