Bo-Peep...

From how she’s described, Bo sounds like one of Molly’s favorite toys (well, lamp). Though Molly’s not as connected to her toys as Andy, I’d like to think that Mrs. Davis didn’t just give her away. Though, there has been no evidence that Bonnie now has her, other than the fact that her mom and Andy’s mom are friends.

I had to admit, I thought that the toys Andy sold would turn up at Bonnie’s house, but I guess it sounded way too predictable and coincidencial.

Two thoughts on Bo Peep:

Woody brings up [spoil]the toys who were in yard sales, Wheezy and ??? (sorry, I can’t remember the other one Woody mentions). Then REX says, “And Bo Peep?” And Woody says something about yes, and Bo (with his voice cracking); they’re all good toys who went on to new owners. D’ja ever hear that old cliche where the parents tell the kids that Old Fido went to live on Mr MacGregor’s Farm instead of actually telling the kids he’s dead? I would buy the idea that maybe Bo Peep did get broken somehow, but not all the toys know this, and Woody (who does know) has always let them believe that she went to a new owner, because the truth is too painful - for them, and him.

If Bo is still “alive” somewhere, I could definitely see Andy’s Mom giving her to a friend who had a new baby. Having that friend be Bonnie’s mom would have been a little too convenient, and I suspect Bonnie would still have had Bo in her room (which they could have done, but again - the coincidence would be a little much).[/spoil]

Honestly, I always liked her fine, but I don’t mind Bo being gone, and I think it was the right choice for the film.

It just wouldn’t fit with the main story, either. Sure, it would please the fans, like myself, but the fact doesn’t change that she still can’t do much. [spoil]Not like Bonnie’s toys could either, though.[/spoil]

I don’t know if it was mentioned, but a good reason could be that if Bo Peep was there Woody would of rushed to jump in the bag before it went into the Attic. Or at least there would be the conflict of interests for him, to stay with Bo in the attic or stay with Andy at college. If he went straight for the bag where Bo was he would of gone straight with them to daycare. He wouldn’t of been on the outside to help them get out when they needed him. Though I suppose you could argue that there wouldn’t of been the Buzz problem with Woody there, as together I am sure they’d of made a better plan for escape.

Despite all this I can’t help but think that people are over reacting somewhat to this…

i definitely see where it looks like some (including myself) are overreacting to bo’s absence. for me, i’m just bummed she was [spoil]in literally 5 seconds of the 100-minute film[/spoil] at most. she did have a firm position in the first two, so i felt like she could’ve been included in some larger capacity in 3. nonetheless, obviously an incredible film and i understand that her absence was justified.

also, ebonrook’s idea definitely makes sense. however, in the first two, she was never on the adventures to begin with, always at home. but then again, [spoil]if she had just stayed home, that would’ve given woody another argument to get the toys back in the house rather than in the van.[/spoil] i dunno.

ps. bo’s section on the on the characters page of the ts3 website is back up!
disney.go.com/toystory/#/characters/bopeep

Yep, I see. And all the character pages have animations now too.

Well, I think she could have reprised her role as a damsel in distress in the train sequence.

What could Andy say about Bo? Plenty!

“This is Bo Peep. She’s always getting herself into a jam and needs someone like Jessie or Buzz to rescue her.”

Then he could fish out Buzz Lightyear or Jessie. Of course it would be nice if he pulled out Woody and said something like, “Woody’s brave and rescues her- every time”, but then, we’ll never know, will we? -Omar

i thought the exact same thing as i watched it in the theatre! after all, she could’ve had a part in the opening at least.

also, i understand about the andy thing, but at the same time i understand lee’s perspective- she’s a lamp, she’s not really a toy. however, i think that if they did what they did in the first 2, where some were at home til the end, they could have somehow gotten the others with the main gang at the end and rather than have andy actually say something about bo, they could’ve had some characters handed over without dialogue with the music playing overtop, kinda like up’s opening sequence.

Technically, Hamm isn’t really a toy either. He’s a money box.

She wasn’t really important and was kind of annoying for me. I didn’t really like her at all.

I can understand that some can see her as an unimportant character, but how can she be annoying is beyond me. She hardly sspeaks, and all her lines are kind of sweet.

I was kind of sad that they didn’t include her, and I just couldn’t help feeling bad for poor Woody when [spoil] he got choked up about her.[/spoil] :frowning:

I know.

It’s funny, when I was really young, I never really cared about Bo Peep and I couldn’t understand why she was even there. But after fifteen years, I re-watched both Toy Story films again and I realized how innocent, sweet and sensible she really is, and just how important she was to Woody (not to mention, he clearly loved her). And I was so heartbroken when Woody literally choked up after confessing that she was one of the toys that [spoil]moved on to other owners. It must have been so devastating loosing his girlfriend. cries[/spoil]

I can’t remember if it was mentioned [spoil]she moved on to other owners, or was thrown away. I suppose that would explain her absence in TS2… but darn it, that was a pretty bleak way to open the film![/spoil] :frowning:

[spoil]And Squeaky! He was the neglected one they tried to save in TS2, and he was still given away![/spoil] I think Woody mentioned one more toy… can anyone remember?

But there were many toys that were missing from the first movie, [spoil]RC, the bodybuilder guy, Etch & Sketch,[/spoil] etc. :frowning:

Squeaky? You mean Wheezy?

Yeah, Wheezy, my bad.

I’m pretty sure Woody mentioned [spoil]Etch[/spoil].

Yes, they mentioned Etch, Wheezy and Bo.

That was a lame excuse they put her out of the movie,i could have thought of many realistic scenarios where she could have been apart of the movie, porcelain my arse…i’m disappointed in you Lee.

I would have taken Bo peep over hyper active Barbie anyway…she better be back in the toy story shorts.
