Virginia >..< i know sometimes things are bad but i believe everything happens for a reason just keep praying and hoping… I don’t really know all that much about adoption things but my uncle has been dealing with bad goverment problems because hes an illegal immigrat… My aunt just had a baby last year thats his and they are married and all that but its hard to decide about if we should go see him in Mexico or not because of how bad things are… I know that its no where near how you must be feeling but we both have to stay strong for our families no matter what because they depend on us…

Virginia, I really hope you don’t get separated from your family. I can’t imagine losing my parents or my siblings. :frowning: I’ll be praying for you.

Thanks, guys. I think I’m going okay. I haven’t freaked yet…

That’s good, Virginia, try and stay nice and calm even though some bad stuff is happening to you right now. I hope everything works out okay, and you’re definitely in my thoughts. Even though it may take a while, I’m sure everything will be alright in the end. hug

[b:2p60uo4p]Virginia[/b:2p60uo4p]- I’m so sorry  . Really. I don’t really know what I can tell you at this point, but no matter what happens, you’re in God’s hands. It’ll all turn out for the best, even if it doen’t feel like it. Keep the Faith, no matter what. You’ll be okay. God Bless! You’re in my prayers.

Current mood: Excellent :D !

Reason: I’m finally gonna tell you about my vacation :D !

Day one consisted of our drive there. We went to Pennsylvania, and it’s about a thousand miles from where we live, so it was quite a drive. We left at 6 PM, and drove straight through the night, we only really played one game on the way: Disney Quiz. A little something I made up when I was little  . It was pretty uneventful. It took about 18 hours to get there, and everyone was pretty good. Just the last few hours were tough, 'cause everyone was done being in a car.

The first thing we did when we finally got there was go to my cousin’s house. He lives there with my aunt and uncle (his parents), his girlfriend, and her two kids. While I was there, my mom and dad left to see his parents for a little while. After we were done hanging out at my cousin’s, we went to see my Nana’s family. It was a small reunion. But it was nice. I had the first corn fritters that I’d had in a while. And I as able to get calamari! In PA! Shock the crap out of me! Though it wasn’t the best, it was good. Then we went to my great aunt’s and settled down for the night.

The next morning we went to Hershey’s Chocolate world :D !

That was really cool, because I hadn’t been there in years. We went on the ride and looked around a little, and then left for my Mom’s friends’ house. We ate there, that was nice. The dessert she made was great! Then she took us around the house to show us her flowers, where I got some wall-paper worthy pictures  .

[img:2p60uo4p]http://i33.tinypic.com/314fcr4.jpg[/img:2p60uo4p]
I also got this on the way back from there  (or Mom did, I can‘t remember).
[img:2p60uo4p]http://i36.tinypic.com/2h3bh4j.jpg[/img:2p60uo4p]

Then that night we had a reunion with my Papa’s side of the family. That was a huge turn out. I walk into the room of the restaurant, and saw all of them, and I looked at Mom and whispered, "Are these [i:2p60uo4p]all[/i:2p60uo4p] our family?" Yep! They were! It was great! I talked to some nice girls my age, then to some women Mom’s age. I got to show off my art, and brake out my Carol Channing impression  . That was fun! Had my calamari, again  … And I introduced on of the girls to it. She actually liked it! hen when we were done and everyone left, we went back to my great aunt’s.

The next day, we got up, me and Dad and Mom went to see her friend’s husband (her friend couldn’t make it). He was nice. We went to the Pancake Barn, and it was delicious! Then we took Dad to his parents to see some of his buddies, and after that we went back to my cousin’s. We had fun. My aunt took me to the pet store to see some puppies (It had been a while and I was dying for a “fix.” I wanted to. see. PUPPIES !) I got to see a pit-bull mix that was as sweet as could be, and a Belgian Shepherd that, even though she was ten years old, couldn’t hold still! They were just great! Though, by the time I was finished, I was absolutely covered in dog hair  . I’ll have pictures of them later. Then we go to see an old patient of my mom’s (he’s not old, she took care of him a long time ago, and now their friends). He and some of his family were there, and they were great! And they had a HUGE dog! He was a Golden Retriever, and I swear he looked just like [i:2p60uo4p][b:2p60uo4p]Dug[/i:2p60uo4p][/b:2p60uo4p]! And he acted just like him! And, in case you don’t believe me, here’s a few pictures of me and him (I‘m in my Violet wig ;-) ):

After that we went back to my great aunt’s house for a bit of an early night. We were getting up early the next morning for Washington D.C. :-D) !

The next day we got up and picked up my step brother and sister, and we took off. We had loads of fun. First, we took the train there, I loved that. Then, when we got there, we got our tickets for the Washington Monument. We saw the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol, the World War Two Memorial. It was so beautiful! And I felt like Sarah Vowel! We headed to the Museum of natural history. The was probably my favorite part. We got lots of great pictures. Then we left to go to see the Washington Monument, but when we got there, no one was there. There was a cop outside, Dad asks him what was going on. He tells us it’s closed because of bad weather. So we’re standing there deciding what to do, and behind us there’s this [i:2p60uo4p]zziit-BOOM![/i:2p60uo4p] Lightning struck the monument! We were, no lie, ten to twenty feet away! I’m terrified of lightening myself, so I take off. Mom starts screaming at all off us, “No! No! Over here! This way! We’re going back inside.” So we (me, Dad, Mom, and brother and sister) go to get back in side the museum, and there’s a line! So we go over to this little snack-shack with about a two-foot wide roof hang-off. So we hide under there. And this woman comes out of the shop, “You can’t sand in front of the door! It‘s a fire hazard.” Yeah, as if we wouldn’t move. So we’re there, trying to stay dry, and ya know what, one of the woman is going in and out of the door, laughing her head off, smoking a cigarette! Yep… and we’re a fire hazard :-\ . It’s like she was mocking us. I have nothing agents people who choose to smoke, but don’t laugh in the face of wet people  . Well, finally, we decide to move, ‘cause it ain’t getting any better. So we go back to the Museum of Natural History, and I get to see the rest of the stuff I wanted to see (I got pictures of all the dogs :) ). Then we left to try the Washington Memorial again, but we chickened out (the weather was still bad). Then we whent to the Air and Space Museum (Dad loves that stuff). That was cool. Then we ate at McDonald’s, and then we split up. Me and Mom went to the Museum of fine art (obviously). But I had o go to the bathroom, and by the time we’d finished, we got to see one painting (of the Nativity scene :) ) and we get kicked out. Well, not really, it was closing time. But the usher was nice and let us take a couple pictures. Then we had to meat with the rest of the gang, but we didn’t wanna walk. So we paid one of those guys who take people around with bikes and carriages to take us there! Boy, was the rest of the family surprised when we got there so fast ! We didn’t tell ‘em right away…. Then we took the train and we left.
Here are some pictures  :

The next day, we went back to the Pancake Barn to meet a girl my mom used to baby sit. She was very sweet. And I finally got some steak :D ! I got to show her my drawings, and she loved them! Then we went to The Green Dragon, which is a big outdoor shopping place. We went to see the horse and buggies! And I got a great picture of one! It looked like he was posing for me!

[img:2p60uo4p]http://i34.tinypic.com/3162d1e.jpg[/img:2p60uo4p]

Then we met my God Father (I call him my uncle). Him and all of us spent some time at my cousin’s place. I made a skirt for my cousin’s girlfriend’s daughter with some material my aunt gave me. And she loved it! She was wearing it the next day! Later, we all went out for Chinese. It was fabulous! We laughed, had a bunch of fun, and the food was great! And I got some great pictures while we were driving…

After that, me, Mom, and Dad when back to my great aunt’s. We had a good night’s sleep.

Next day, we were hanging out with family. Mom and Dad went to his parents, and I spent the day with my cousin and his family. That night we when back to my great aunt’s and had pizza, played cards, talked, and had a great time. And my great aunt gave me a little something
[img:2p60uo4p]http://i53.tinypic.com/2djwkck.jpg[/img:2p60uo4p]

The next day we had to leave  . We went back to my cousins for a little, and said good-bye to everyone. Then we left. It was really sad, and there was a little crying, Though, I didn’t, only because I hate crying (especially in front of others) unless I’m acting or something, and I kinda felt like I needed to be strong for them. The drive down was [u:2p60uo4p]not[/u:2p60uo4p] as smooth as the one up :/. I think everyone had just had enough of not being at home. But when we got back I finally got something I’d wanted since before the drive up: IHOP :-D) ! So we did that after we dropped our stuff off at home, and then after we (me, Papa, Nana, Mom, and Dad) ate, we went home, THANK GOD! I was happy to be home. But I was sad I had o leave. Ever since we left, I’ve been wanting to go back. It as like I was there for the first time! It really was a blest trip. I’d lived there at least a good 1/3 of my life, but for some reason, it didn’t seem… all that. Well, guess absence really does make the heart grow fonder <3 . I can’t wait till I can go back again! And may benext time, it’ll be snowing :) ! And, maybe I’ll even have a Siberian Husky to enjoy the cold with ;-).

I really miss my family, I wish they could live closer :( . Well, hopefully one day, I’ll be working successively at Pixar, and make enough to go back regularly :) .

Sorry it took me so long to tell it all to ya  . Anyway, hope you enjoyed my little story :) ! I’ll probably be posting more now that I got that out of the way…

Those were great pictures! Sounds like you had an awesome time!

Virginia, as I’ve said in another thread, I’m very sorry to hear your predicament. No one should have to go through what you are going through now. I’m sending a prayer to the Big Dude in the Sky tonight to give you a hand. :frowning:

By the way, you can check out the meaning of LABB in this post. It’s an acronym I coined based on karly05’s ‘Let’s Bug Brad Bird’ hypothesis in the ‘So, has Brad Bird…’ thread (I guess you can call it ‘LBBB’ as well, but I think ‘LABB’ sounds better). I’m hoping it’ll gain some traction as a meme here… heh.

That’s some great photos, Violet Parr! I’m not sure whether it’s alright for you to post photos of yourself here, but since it is technically not against forum rules to my knowledge and you don’t seem to mind, I guess it’s fine. But do take caution next time, remember Helen’s advice to Violet after landing on Nomanisan Island…

Anyway, I’m really glad to hear you had an enjoyable trip! That dog really does look and act like Dug! And the near-shocking experience next to the Washington Monument, the Incredible Ice-Cream Cart (I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a Super in disguise!), those neat wolf pictures (were they in the museum?) and the posing horse… I should visit the States again next time…

Wow, great photos there, Violet! Sounds like you had an amazing time! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. And mmm, Hershey’s…

Mood: Nervous and excited.

Reason: It’s moving day tomorrow. Almost all packed up and ready to go!

Are you moving to a dorm, lizardgirl? Well, I hope you have awesome roommates. I know it’s a very strange feeling to be leaving the home you’ve lived in for your entire childhood and teenage years, but you’ll be settling into your college and making friends before you know it! Trust me, I’ve been there.

Thanks for the words of comfort, thedriveintheatre. Yup, I’ll be moving into dorms (though they’re called ‘halls’ here, short for ‘halls of residence’) and I’ve already met four of my flatmates through Facebook, fortunately! They seem lovely so far, so fingers crossed it all goes well. The best thing about halls over here is that, unlike in America it seems, there’s no room-sharing, so at least I’ll have my own bathroom and bedroom to myself with a bit of privacy. But yes, all very exciting!

Thanks, Vi, LG, and TDIT. I feel much better now. I got to come home, and my dad’s at his mom’s house. He has to go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings now, and I think I’ll be okay, at least physically. Thank you. Your guys’ support means everything to me.

EDIT: Vi, that Jessie thing is awesome!!! BTW, what is your real hair color? Hate to be random, but I’ve always wondered.

Glad to hear things are going better for you, Virginia. I’m glad we were able to help you out.

Mood::laugh:

Reason: This: “It Sucks to be Luigi”

I would recommend reading all of these comics… They’re too funny. 8D I normally don’t laugh out loud while looking at pictures (or reading comics), but these are definitely an exception.

Thanks, DoE. My dad is extremely mad, and knowing him, won’t forgive for a long time. But still, he messed my life up, not vice versa. I deserve to be mad, and he doesn’t. I’m not mad, just…I’m good. I love you guys.

Glad you’re okay, Virginia.

Thank you.

Mood: Super over-the-top ecstatic like you would not believe!!!

Reason WALL•E PREMIERE TONIGHT!!!

(just heard POYSC playing)

I’m watching it right now!

EJE: Cool!!!

I’m grinning ear to ear because of Owl City’s official ‘To The Sky’ music video. It’s been so long since a proper film music video, and I was giving up hope they were going to do one for LOTG because they already released a one-minute version on the official site. But it turned out to be a teaser for the full version!

You can read about my fan-gush here. Gaaah… I’m so excited for this movie!

I’m quite bored right now…I wish I had something else to do othen than clean my room.
