Haha, it seems everyone has gone through a computer crisis of their own!
BDD: Well, I read your review on TPATF, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Your comments on the state of Disney Channel and its affiliates was equally illuminating.
little_chef: Well, you could try download all the soundtracks from Pixar movies if you haven’t already got 'em. Some of my favourite scores to get in the mood are:
The Metal Gear Solid series - If I’m writing any fast-paced action scenes. Puts you in a ‘heroic’ mood with those beautiful french horns. Listen to either the MGS2 or MGS3 theme.
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron - Similarly, although more of the ‘grand adventure’ type. I recommend the track ‘Run Free’.
Pirates of the Caribbean Treasures Suite - A good summary of all the themes from the trilogy. ‘Marry Me’ is one of my favourite love themes of any soundtrack.
Gladiator - ‘Now We Are Free’ is just sheer poetry.
Oh, and congrats on getting your comp back in one piece. Remember to backup!
lizardgirl: Good luck with the exams!
Violet Parr: I’ve heard Brad Bird was told by someone while making The Incredibles that it sounded very similar to Watchmen, and he didn’t want to watch it for fear of being influenced! Which was great since he made TI in his own way without being affected by Watchmen’s plot. Anyway, haven’t seen Watchmen, but I have seen Ultraviolet, and it’s fun at the beginning, but began to suck towards the end… so yeah…
Sally Johnson: Sad to lose a Cars fan on this boards. Good luck, and you’re welcome back anytime soon!
thewisecookiesheet: Good luck with the exams!
…
MOOD : SUPER HAPPY
Why? I got to watch Avatar in 3-D one week ago, and I’m planning to watch it again in Digital 2-D today before its theatrical run ends.
I’m also a fifth away from finishing my next silly mash-up (feat. The Princess and the Frog, no less!), and I had a couple of great inspirations for my next few vids while trying to sleep yesterday.
Also, I’m going out to borrow the next few volumes of the Bones comic series by Jeff Smith after returning some CDs and novels due soon, so I could read as much of the saga in one shot! Oh, and I finished Dragon Outcast, the second book I’ve read in The Age of Fire series, and it was pretty good.
Fourthly, it turned out there was nothing wrong with my external hard disk, and it was just that its power cable had failed, so I cannibalized another power unit with the same port to power it up now. I’m so grateful, thank the Great Motherboard and the Deities of Technology!
Finally, my dad convinced my mum to buy a PSP last Thursday, after I mentioned it would be nice to be able to ad-hoc multiplay with my bro who already owns one. You have no idea how frustrating it is to have to tell him to download the games I want and only getting to play his unit when he’s not using it, so finally I can play the racing and Pixar games I want on my own machine. I’ve been wanting one for the past two years, man, so it’s really been a long time coming. I’m sooo happy.
