That’s just in your own experience. What you’ll find though as most evolutionist base their opinions on empirical evidence, they’d be more than happy to change their opinions when presented with some very believable, empirically based evidence unlike creationists who just use God as the answer.
As it was creationists that came up with their “theory” first, the onus should not be on us to disprove your theory but it should be on you to prove it to us, and so far might I say, in mine and many others opinions, you’ve all done a poor job of it. Russell’s infamous celestial teapot is a prime example of this.
So sad.
P.S. I also take it that you said “whatever” because you are too lazy to respond.
This is a question to all of the people who believe in evolution.
The theory is that we evolved from monkeys and apes. We went though a significant transformation from hairy ape to now. My question is do you think that us humans are still evolving but it is just a very slow process?
TSS: I’m sure your intentions were pure but saying humans evolved from apes an monkeys is a common misconception from creationists. Humans and apes evolved from the same primal ancestor. Say for example, we both had the same great great great grandparents, except one of the children grew up with the ability to walk on their hind legs and this ability was passed onto their children.
As for where our appearences are headed, I do not know. A friend told me their dentist said that we might be going the ways of aliens with the big heads and eyes, pale skin and small mouths. The pale skin and large eyes becausewe are spending more time indoors and with artificial light and the small mouths because we don’t have to chew as much.
While that makes sense, I’m not entirely convinced.
Al-Bob- Not necessarily a couple of million, but certainly a fair amount of time has to pass before we can notice the effects of our own evolution. And changes in the physical body of humans has been noted, even over the past couple of hundred years.
A good example is that, due to their more frequent use with things like typing, computer gaming and the playing of instruments, the human thumb has been growing longer in proportion to the rest of the hand. Also, humans are, on average, taller than we were a few hundred years ago, and a lot taller than we were a few thousand years ago.
Anyway, surely you believe in something that you cannot physically see? And just because you can’t see it happening right before your eyes, doesn’t mean it isn’t there at all. That’s sort of in support of both theories, if you think about it.
Of course! It’s my favourite comedy. Rowan Atkinson remarks on it in his devil sketch. Look it up on Youtube, it’s great.
Update: on topic, (Im on my iPhone so can’t get a link for you) news.com.au has an article on scientists finding that fingers and thumbs were developing in fins in fish about 320 million years ago. If someone can find the link and paste it here that’d be great.
Not necessarily. Creationists don’t just use God as the answer then don’t find out anything for themselves. At least, not all of them. The Holy Bible doesn’t explain every single detail of the universe and how it works. So, we are still left with some questions about the world around us. Some people are okay with not knowing, and that’s fine because it’s not like they have to. Others are encouraged to discover more. It’s not like we have anything against asking questions and going out there to figure it out. We admire the complex designs of this world and also give thanks for it.
The way I see it, science explains how things work, while religion explains why. One can trust both. Think about it.
