I agree. The magic in the first one wasn’t there, and I missed being at Hogwarts. Part I was kinda in limbo or something. I’m so happy with this last one, it brought everything together perfectly
I personally preferred Part I.
Granted, this one was a better film, probably for nostalgic reasons, but at least Part I was far more faithful.
I saw it and I was really blown away! It was probably my favorite movie this year. It had everything. and it had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the film.
Yeah, in the first part, we only saw like a 2 second glimpse of The Hogwarts Express, and that was it.
What’s up with everyone liking McGonagall a lot.
Well, she’s awesome in the books. In the movie, she’s portrayed by an awesome actress and is kind of awesome too, but she has a lot of moments that are totally out of character (screenwriter’s fault, not Smith’s).
She totally rocked my socks off! ) Glad they did that. In fact. the real heroes aside from harry would be mcgonagall, Mrs. weasley and NEVILLE!!! )
What’s up with everyone liking McGonagall a lot.
Because she’s awesome. She’s strict but still totally cool, and is probably only second to Dumbledore in powerful teachers at the school. Plus, she can transform into a CAT.
SOA: Yeah, specifically the “I always wanted to do that spell” part was a little OOC, but still funny nonetheless and I didn’t really mind. XD
Yes finally! A movie thread I can post in because I don’t have to worry about spoilers (having read the books years ago).
I might actually be able to see this in theatres soon. I mean, there hasn’t been an english language film in Rome since Rio, so I expect it to be flooded. Even still, if I do end up going to see it, expect a full audience analysis report.
97% on the RT meter?!? Holy cow this is incredible!
I seriously think this has a chance of a Best Film nomination. I mean, Return of the King got nominated, didn’t it?
Yeah, but Return of the King.… Oh, well, it doesn’t matter. I suppose it depends on the competence.
What I’m saying is not that DH and ROTK are necessarily on the same level, but that sometimes the nomination committees can be snobs and won’t nominate things that come from things they perceive as too “childish” (Remember The Dark Knight?) Of course, LOTR is not for children, but its in the same “modern epic fantasy series” vein that Harry Potter is in.
Whoop if you thought Mrs. Weasley was super badass. ‘Not my daughter, you *****!’
Then again all the other Lord of the Rings movies were nominated for Best Picture too.
So excited! I’m leaving in a few hours to see this.
When Mrs. Weasly said her line, my entire theatre applauded! (they also applauded when [spoil]Neville killed Nigini)[/spoil]
Then it was just in my theater where they applauded about twenty times, even when it wasn’t required.
“Ive always wanted to do that spell” I love her.
And reading a majority of the posts ive missed ive been getting chills. I cant believe its over I just cant.
And I know this sounds crazy but I think wizards could really be real. Yeah its crazy. And Im childish. But the universe is huge mabe theyre on a different planet?
Anyone think this will be Sorcerers Stone in the box office?
Oh, yes, I think it will.
Yeah it will.
