I don’t hate Mater at all. He is rather funny! But I think the first movie had just enough Mater. If there is any more, a little bit will be okay. But too much Mater… that could get scary.
Hmm, yeah that is an interesting way to think about it. I feel like Mater is more important to Cars than Dug is to Up, though. I see Mater more at the equivalance of Russel, as far as the importance of the story goes. Dug did though provide some of the funniest parts or the film, just like Mater
Love, I didn’t mean he was more important, but the comedy back bone. All the sadness in Cars would overwhelm me w/o Mater, like Up would w/o Dug. That’s the comparison.
But it’ll be a happy heart attack!!! Yes that is one of the reasons why I don’t like Mater as much, but also because it’s [spoil]stupid[/spoil] how they are marketing off of him,and making everything about him. That’s why I intensely hate Car’s Toons(besides the fact Sally is not in there). The original story was about Lightning NOT Mater, and it should be kept that way!!
I don’t hate Mater,but I find him irrtably,annoying right now.I really don’t care for him that much.
TSS: Wow,I’m pleasently surprised you’re saying that,of all people I didn’t expect you to say that…
Well you know, John lassester was called in to co direct cars 2. So maybe this sequel might end up in the same situation as ts2. You know, when they had to entirely scrap the original project and complete the new one in a matter of months. So maybe the story will be equally centered around Lightning and mater now that John is on board. You just never know.
Honestly(forgive me!), the idea of Cars kissing looks strange in my head . I love Lightning and Sally as a couple, though, so I could handle if Pixar couldn’t work around the weirdness.
I agree IV. When ever I imagine them kissing, it just looks really awkward to me. Considering they are cars, I think it would just be weird. After all, cars do not normally cars!
I like how Pixar has handled this universe. Everything is done (for the most part) to the capacity of an automobile. Thus, I hope to see in the sequel Lightning and Sally sharing a moment of romance and tenderness more natural to cars.
I think it’d be really cute if they drove around slowly right next to each other, with Sally’s mirror directly infront of the edge of Lightning’s windshield. Then they would like they are holding hands!
