Just announced!
Michael Giacchino will be doing the score for “Inside Out.”
This has been the Pixar film I’ve been looking forwad to the most on a personal level (as well as possibly the “Day of the Dead” project), so boy was I happy when I heard the news.
“Planet of the Apes” scoring was earlier this month, and afterwards Michael went off to Switzerland for a live concert of “Star Trek Into Darkness” music, where he apparantly made the announcement (he’ll also be doing Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland” as well as “Jurassic World”):
OK I’m seriously getting more and more excited for TIO every day now, and not just because it feels weird not to have a Pixar movie this year. Between the awesome voice actors up for roles and the awesome people working on it (obviously ) and the totally unique and wonderful-sounding storyline, I can’t stinkin wait!! I’m looking forward to this more than the Dinosaur movie, I think most fans are. I just hope it isn’t Brave all over again. I liked Brave, but it wasn’t what I was hoping for, and I know many agree. I think this will be my favorite since Toy Story 3 when it comes out.
I really hope that whatever the case, it ends the Pixar slump. Brave was way below Pixar standards and Monsters University had a few horrifying discontinuities/mistakes in it. So hopefully Inside Out and Good Dinosaur will put Pixar back on the right track. Really, the only upcoming feature to be concerned about is Cars 3 (although I personally liked Cars 2 a lot).
I didn’t even think about that! Dude, I am going to get so stoked if a teaser is attached to BH6. Even if it’s like 5 seconds long. I will be happy with anything.

I must say I’m surprised by Riley’s character design, but in a pleasant way—she looks a bit younger than I pictured. It’s a unique facial design and I feel like the approach is very Toy Story-esque, trying to contrast more realistic human characters with the cartoonish ones (her emotions).
I’m incredibly excited for this movie and seeing these images brought back that warm Up feeling, they really have Docter’s mark. A teaser cannot come soon enough!!!
I got to see the sneak peek and it was awesome! Just seeing Riley animate a bit and watching Joy throw a marshmallow at Anger was enough to get me crazy hyped! And this character design… ahhh I can’t get enough of it! ChantsTeaser! Teaser! Teaser!
I can’t wait!
