Hopefully we get a teaser with Pirates 4 and maybe a full trailer with Real Steel. It’ll be PG-13 so I doubt they’ll attach it to Cars 2.

could be, but it is a mistery how disney will be marketing this film, I mean, will they use the slogan “from the director of Finding Nemo and Wall-e” or “from the 2 times academy award winner Director Andrew Stanton”

Disney generally doesn’t boast awards like the other studios do.

It’s weird, but I think something like “From Pixar’s Andrew Stanton” may work better than “From the director of Finding Nemo and WALL-E”, as everyone automatically associates Pixar with “high-quality” while the individual films may be more associated with “kids movies”.

but if people associate it to Pixar movies, John Carter will be a complete success,

if disney promotes this film like they did with Alice, I have no doubt that it will capture all families around the world,both have pretty similar release dates

Though now that Stanton’s said that he still has digital photography to do for the rest of 2011, I’m kind of concerned if it’s going to be ready in time for that date. I really don’t want him to rush anything.

I’m really excited about this too. Mr Stanton is nothing short of a genius in my eyes after making the masterpiece that was WALL-E
And the books are awesome

I know. Masterpiece is an epic understatement really. I’m hoping Mr. Stanton will add the awesome factor that WALL-E (and FN) had.

Taylor Kitsch Talks JOHN CARTER OF MARS, BATTLESHIP and SAVAGES

Collider: What is it like to do films like The Bang Bang Club, that are scaled back and on a smaller budget, and then do something on a bigger scale like John Carter of Mars, where you’re the title character and you’re working with so many effects?

KITSCH: Well, I’m reacting with real people, and it’s face-to-face and incredibly gritty. There’s more room for error. [Andrew] Stanton has written a script for John Carter of Mars that is so intertwined and so incredibly intuitive and smart that every word and every sentence correlates to something maybe at the very last scene of the film. On its own, that’s something that I’m very excited to be involved with. I think we’ve done it. We’ve told the story, so that you have no idea what’s going to happen. Just to be a part of this guy’s mind-set and to play this title guy is amazing. This guy was 11 years old, wanting to do this film.

To have him at the helm, and for him to pen what he did, and to go and play that, that was special. I was looking at a 100-foot green screen and there was an X on it at the 75-foot mark, and that was supposed to be a ship that I’m blowing up. In situations like that, escapism is a lot harder, as an actor, and tests you in different ways. Making a light switch real to me, as something that’s going to kill me, and being able to just be present and react to someone are very different. With Bang Bang, I had a fucking child and a vulture. If you can’t put yourself in a present moment there, then you’ve got to go back to New York and study a bit more. It’s not hard

I heard that disney changed it from “John Carter of Mars” to only “John Carter” in order to avoid any relation with the film Mars Needs Moms (disney biggest deisappointments of the year)

I don’t think they’d put a trailer for a (probably) PG-13 rated film in front of a G rated movie. It’ll maybe be in front of The Muppets, but I don’t know. Hell, they could put in front of HP7: Part 2 for all we know!

^ makes sense, however I’ve heard a teaser trailer of The Dark Knight Rises would probably be attached to HP 8,

The fact is that we may probably see some material in Real Steel, The Muppets, TinTin, Mission Impossible IV, Sherlock Holmes 2 or War Horse, the trailer will appear for sure in front of some of them
