Lifted

I finally got to see Lifted. I thought it was so funny! As soon as I saw the main character, I knew straight away who it was. My favourite part was when:

[spoil]The teenage alien was trying to get the farmer through the window but he was stuck, and he ended up showing his bum! LOL[/spoil]

Well, Iā€™m glad you finally got a chance to enjoy it rachel.

rachel - Iā€™m glad you enjoyed it, rachel!

[spoil]Did you spot the tin toy under the farmerā€™s bed?[/spoil]

ā€“ Mitch

Mitch - [spoil]No, I didnā€™t spot anything! I was just concentrating on following the story. As I said, the experience was all a bit much for me, so next time, Iā€™ll pay more attention. Heh.[/spoil]

What was your favourite part of Lifted, Mitch and TSS?

Well, my favorite part of Lifted is where the human person gets bashed all around the house, and being put into painful situations, while the teen allien dude is struck with nervousness. And when the ship crashes down, now that really surprised me.

rachel - Concerning your spoiler: Ah, yes. I see. That makes sense.

[spoil]My favorite part in Lifted is, unpredictably, the part that hardly anyone laughs at, and thatā€™s the moment where the little alien dude is staring at this wide aray of swtiches that are devoid of any labels on them. That was justā€¦classic humor as far as my sister and I are concerned; we just love crazy stuff like that.[/spoil]

TSS - Yeah, I loved that part too - Linguini being bashed around. That is very slapstick humour right there. It got plenty of laughs which was great. The ending surprised me, too. I thought the house would have been crushed, so that part was clever.

Mitch - Yeah, I noticed the lack of labels as well. I think I laughed at that, too. Ha-ha. Classic Pixar. :sunglasses: At least the short has something for everyone, I guessā€¦

rachel - Yep. Pixar seems to insert some form of humor that appeals to every individual in their films. Such geniousesā€¦

[spoil]I agree with TSS in that the final moment when the ship slams back down on the house was LOL funny. Here your all happy for the guy, getting a second chance and all; then he screws it up![/spoil]

Gasduude - Yeah, and they even added a little detail to the grand finale:

[spoil]The little mailbox flags falls down when the ship crashes down to earth.[/spoil]

:stuck_out_tongue:

[spoil]When I saw that part, I thought the human dude was going to die, but then I saw the house was a-okay![/spoil]

Well, I donā€™t know if itā€™s a little too late to talk about this short, but I was avoiding this thread until I saw the movie.

What can I say? That has to be my favorite Pixar short film 'til now! Seriously, I think Iā€™ve never laughed so hard in my lifeā€¦ And another detail that makes me love it even more is the fact that the dude was (or, at least, looked like) Linguini! :stuck_out_tongue:

That was my favorite part too. I was laughing so hard! The whole theater was!

But that final part where [spoil]the ship crashed the house[/spoil] was absolutely unexpected to me! Too funnyā€¦ 8D

Yep, this is my favorite short film so far. And I think itā€™s going to be it for a very long time! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, when that part happened, I thought the ship was going to just fly away and leave the poor linguini character dude alone. The crash came out of no where! It made me jump out of my seat, howling with laughter. BUt it was even funnier when the ship got off the ground, in the middle of the huge crater was the bed of the boy, unharmed.

Thatā€™s exactly what I mean! When [spoil]the ship crashed I was like ā€œOMG, they killed Linguini!ā€ :open_mouth: But when they revealed that the guy was safe, I was so relievedā€¦[/spoil] But then, it happened what we could hear during the creditsā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

Heheh. Iā€™m glad you liked the short, Maggie! So itā€™s your favorite of Pixarā€™s featurettes? That makes two of us.

[spoil]Yeah, so he died anyway. And even if he survived, who would be able to get him out of that? :stuck_out_tongue: [/spoil]

ā€“ Mitch

Thatā€™s my pointā€¦ But, dang, it was funny, but I felt sorry for the dudeā€¦ :frowning: And you can imagine whyā€¦ ;-p

Maggie - Haha! Yeah, exactly. Heheh.

I wonder if Pixarā€™s next short will be able to top Lifted? I mean, their newest concoction is pretty funny. Thereā€™s no telling whether or not anything will replace my fondess for Lifted. So far, the afore-mentioned film remains in the number one spot of my favorite Pixar shors. Of course, that could changeā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

ā€“ Mitch

Heheh. Iā€™m glad you guys like Lifted as well. I never thought a Pixar short film would be so enjoyable. (silly me) I think that next year, the short film paired with Wall.E will be less funny, and more thought-provoking, though. But I love the funny ones they doā€¦

Wait, you meanā€¦

[spoil]Linguini in Lifted died?[/spoil] How do you know that?

[spoil]I like to think the alien instructor came back later (by himself, this time  ) - just to fix everything. Heck, maybe he has a resurrection machine to cure Linguini! :stuck_out_tongue: [/spoil]

rachel - Actually, I always figured thatā€¦

[spoil]ā€¦ā€œLinguiniā€ just fell down and then waited for one of his neighbors to come and evict him from the hole. But, when I think about it, that was kind of a long fallā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue: [/spoil]

Gasduude - Yeah, maybe! I mean, they could probably do almost anything with the technology they have.
