I’m going to resist the urge to read
that summary on Lifted – the story-line, I mean. I want to be surprised this time,
which is rare; I usually always want to be “in” on the spoilers.
I’m with Mitch: I accidentally read the Wiki entry on
Cars, which spoiled it slightly for me. I’m usually a stickler for spoilers, but
not this time.
Same here. If I was excited like I was with the
Incredibles, I’ll read it too.
I do my best not to spoil
movie plots. Whenever the books for a new Pixar film hit the shelves, I resist the urge to flip through the
pages.
Doing otherwise would’ve totally ruined The Incredibles for me. In some of the books for TI, you
can read about Jack-Jack’s “battle” with Syndrome. I’m proud of my patience.
~~=oP
Now
there’s where my curiosity defeats me, especialy if the article is on the internet (the
Lifted story being an exception).
I resisted reading the Wikipedia article on
Ratatouille for the longest time…until I just couldn’t take it anymore.
LOL, yeah, I know the feeling, you just want to know everything about it now
instead of waiting till you get the whole experince in one.
Lifted looks awesome!
We all know that every single Pixar
movie has been absolutely brilliant (or at least most people perceive it as such). Noticing that unbroken streak
is all fine and dandy, but I think a lot of people overlook the fact that Pixar also has an unbroken winning
streak when it comes to their short films. And from what I’ve seen and/or heard,
Lifted isn’t about to bring that streak to and end.
CountSolo - I also agree. I
suppose some people don’t stop to think of how successful each of Pixar Animation Studios’ short films have
been, as well. So far, the only diminuative production of theirs that didn’t quite suite me was
Boundin’ (no idea why). However, other than that, I always continue to look forward
to each and every one of their short features. It’s nice to know that they put just as much effort into creating
their short films as they do for their feature ones.
Lifted probably will win the Academy Award for Best
Animated Short Film.
Oh I hope it will. From the reviews people have submited, it sounds like it is going
to be another Pixar classic.
I think there will be a battle between
Lifted and Disney’s Matchgirl.
oh but that Matchgirl one was sooo depressing!
Yep – I also
wish that Lifted wins the award for Best Animated Short. However, it will be hard
pressed with “Matchgirl” at its side.
lennonluvr9 - Yeah, but as depressing as it was, it has to be the most
beautifully animated short I have ever seen.
Where was Matchgirl playing?
I didn’t know disney still made shorts.
Off-Topic - “Matchgirl” is a short film that is featured on
The Little Mermaid dvd. You can also find the entire short on youtube, if you search
for it/type in the titles on the site.
But Lifted has got pixar on their side. They should have a fighting
chance.
TSS- But, using the same logic, Matchgirl has Disney on
its side. In the past, Disney have won countless awards for countless films, although I’m not sure of their
record when it comes to shorts. Hopefully Lifted will still be able to scoop the award, nonetheless.
But Disney as an animation force alone isn’t as
dominant as Pixar’s. After Chicken Little, people have agreed, Computer animation for Disney is nothing with out
Pixar.
I didn’t realise that Matchgirl was 3D animated- I haven’t seen it yet. In
that case then yes, Pixar have the upper hand.
