Lifted

JV - Haha – no problem! I also can’t wait to watch it. I looks absolutely

hilarious. Will this be the longest Pixar short ever produced, besides Mater and the

Ghostlight?

I don’t think so.

Thanks for the clip, Mitch! I can’t wait to see it in the theatre. And it will

definitely win the Best Animated Short Film Academy Award!

Good find, Mitch! Wow, Lifted

looks great! The humour is so Pixar-esque, and the animation is beautiful. I really can’t wait to be able to see

the entire short.

Haha ! This

is awesome ! So, I wasn’t the only one to think that the farmer looks like Linguini, huh ?

Great find

Mitch !

Thanks for that great clip; it made me even more eager to

watch Lifted

No problem! I’m glad you all

liked it.

JV - Hmm…maybe I was thinking of another short, then. 'Cause

Mater and the Ghostlight is…what?..eight minutes? That would make

Lifted the second longest Pixar featurette. Cool.

Archibald - Ya’ know, I wonder if Linguini was modeled after the farmer? I

imagine they did Lifted before or during their production on

Ratatouille, so maybe they decided to “borrow” one of their characters

from the short, change his design a little bit, and then place him in Ratatouille?

That, or maybe the exact contrary. If I remember correctly, we can see a modified car

from Cars, a modified Gurgle and the dentist’s arm from Finding

Nemo in Boundin’.
I think they did Linguini before, and then

Gary Rydstrom needed a human character for Lifted, and they didn’t have enough time

to create one.

The big green alien looks like his name should be

“Bub” or “Bubba”.

Archibald - Yeah, that could have been it, as

well. We’ll have to take a closer look at him when we see the final result in theaters.

JV - Hahah – yeah. I thought he kind of looked like the boss frog in

Flushed Away.

I for one refuse to watch the clip. I don’t wanna spoil the short

for when I view it with Ratatouille.

~~=oP

PixarVixen - Yeah, it does spoil a whole twenty-two seconds of film to viewers, so

if you want to be surprised, then don’t watch the clip. But I have to tell you that it looks great…

Oh I’m sure it

does, and it’s tempting, but I’m still gonna pass on it.

~~=oP

No, I’m pretty sure Tin Toy and Geri’s Game

were both over 5 minutes long, so that would make Lifted at least the

forth-longest. I could be wrong about that, though.

Anyway, I broke down and watched the clip, despite

telling myself I would wait until Ratatouille to see it, and I have to say now that I’m more excited for this

short than I was for any other short film Pixar has created so far. I busted up laughing in the middle of the

clip, and was chuckling throughout the rest of it. I watched it several more times, and I laughed every time.

If I’m enjoying this 22 seconds so much, I can’t wait to see the final product!

Good idea. I will

try to do that too. I did it when One Man Band was released. I’ll do the same for lifted.

I know! I love spoilers, so I immediately “ran” to the site to see

what they had… it’s brilliant.

[spoil]I love it when the instructor just looked at the

“kid” and clicked his pen. Just the look on his face and the way he clicked his pen said so much!

Genius.[/spoil]

Oh, wow, this short looks great. I love how it humanizes something unknown and otherwise terrifying…Think

Monsters Inc. with aliens. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oooh, and the ANIMATION! The colors! The lighting! The blubbery movement

of the teachers’ arm! Waaagh!

KE- Pixar may be the masters of animation, and

story-telling, and…well…everything! But one thing they can definitely do is put an expression on

anything’s face (be it human or alien) so that people can immediately understand what they’re thinking.

I love the face that the alien made when he screwed up - made me think of some of Mr. Incredible’s

expressions.
