JV - I think you just found
a hidden Pixar page there, JV.
Interesting article. I didnât understand
any of it, of course, due to the highly technological computations, mathematical equations, and overall almost
incomprehensible âCG talkâ â but other than that, it was pretty cool.
JV- Wow, nice
find! Very interesting, though, like Mitch, I didnât understand much, if any of it.

TIZ!!! PIXAR"]
The instructor is the character used in the âWiggly Splinesâ paper at
graphics.pixar.com/indexAuthorKass.html according to Wikipedia.
To me, he looks like
the monster with the spikes on his back in Monsterâs Inc.
Ahahaha! That clip cracked me up.
Thanks for the find, Mitch!
Dang it, I cant see it. for some
reason my pop up blocker wont turn offâŠ
Yay! I got it to work! It does look quite amusing

Pixel Candy - Heheh â no problem! Iâm glad you enjoyed it.
lennonluvr9 - Thank goodness you got it to work, as it is quite a funny
clip. Iâm glad you were able to view the scene.
For a
while, I was convinced that it was part of a movie. Now, I am quite disheartened because it is only an animation
sample.
How do
you mean, TSS? âLiftedâ was nominated for the animated short film Oscar, so it is indeed a
âfull-lengthâ shortâŠ
Yeah, Iâm confused too. What do you mean by it was only a sample. I thought it
was part of a bigger thing (or âShorterâ thing as the case may be).
I think what TSS means
is that what has been releaed is only a sample- the 20 second clip of Lifted, rather than the entire thing, which
hasnât actually been released yet.

Update:
The official Pixar Animation Studios website now has a page
dedicated to Lifted, including the story, behind the scenes information, and the
names of the characters. You can view these exciting features here:
Lifted
And if that wasnât enough, the
picture of Remy on the bottom left hand corner of the screen on the main page has been changed. It now looks like
thisâŠ

Very cool. Weâre getting closer!
Wow, the alienâs called Stu! What a great name for an
alien! Thanks for the link, Mitch.

lizardgirl - No problem! I check the website every day soooâŠI got ecstatic when I
found that.
I love the name of the instructor alien, by the way â âMr. Bâ.
In the picture of him, he really
does remind me of Roz- itâs that expression on his face!

Hey yeah â I was trying to think of who he reminded me
of! That deadpan look on his face gives it away, I guess. Funny stuff. I also like the sketch of Stu on the last
page.
Heh. Stu. Short for student, I figure.
I
like that sketch too, Mitch. I swear it was done by
Teddy Newton, one of my favorite artists.

PV - Or stupid. Heheh â nah, thatâs too crude.
But yeah, âStuâ for âstudentâ seems to fit.
HmmâŠTeddy Newton. It rings a bell,
but I canât seem to remember him. Does he work at Pixar?
Do guys you remember when I said that the instructor
looks like his name should be âBubâ or âBubbaâ. Well I was close because his name is
âMr. Bâ.

I know â I was
thinking that the âMr. Bâ thing synchronized with somebody elseâs guess at a name on this (or another)
forum, JV. I forgot that you were the one who mentioned it until now. Nice guess!
